  1. Except a single experimental MiG-23M none of 23's had any kind of HMD. MLA never was able to carry and fire R-73, because all Soviet ML/MLA were rebuilt to MLD variant ( oryginally only 60 MLD was brand new ) and then part of them got Archers.
  2. Absolutely fantastic news, day one buy for both modules. Prefered MLD, but ML will be great as well. In MiG-19P cockpit screen second gunsight is missing, but this is early stage.... . Gentlemen I wish you good luck.
  3. Those data related allowed launch zones, where is point to fire missile without seeker lock on? Art-J you have partially right, launch from ideal 1/4 view ( straight line head on, the same level ) was allowed only when target had afterburner on, but 5 degree left or right and you can fire without any problems. You must remember as well, that Polish AF was use only R-60 on MiG-21/23 not R-60M, two very similar looking missiles but with different capabilities. MiG-21 radar of course cannot aid missile seeker, but this not worsening hers sensitivity.
  4. Limited all aspect?. MiG-29B Combat employment manual, easy to find in internet: Depending on the target's altitude: - front hemisphere launch distance 2,5 - 12 km - rear hemisphere launch distance 1,5 - 9 km "Limited only in DCS" TM.
  5. In RL you can fire H-66 single or pair ( the same like RS-2US, H-66 borrowed guidance system from RS-2US ).
  6. Nobody talking about changing radars. We have RS-2US in game ( as kind of additional fun like H-66 and both missiles already are no in line with reality ) so why do not implement her like was in real aircraft because present implementation is not realistic. Personally I do not use RS or H-66, but this can be done for people who wanna have something from older MiG-21 variants. Not bad idea in my opinion.
  7. Yes it's true this variant existed, and his name is RS-2US. Only the sequence was reversed, first radar variant then IR. R-55 was created mainly for Su-9 as his armament supplement, with minimum changes ( both missile and aircraft ), no need for new SARH variant because of Su-9 role ( bomber interceptor ). R-55 seeker is not the same like those from R-3S, it's based on, but it's not interchangeable. How look cramping a few wires together?- in this case this took almost 6 year of developing ( must be simple isn't it? ). Not possible just put seeker and connect wires. That brilliant idea, developers added this option for fun and why not do this according to reality. Important is that we don't have problem with RP-21 documentation, opposite to RP-22. It's easier to implement than many think, most is already done. Changes just will need made in missiles, both need target lock on, just R-3R uses energy reflected from target, RS-2US fly inside lock on beam that's all.
  8. ALL Bis had RP-22, this system is in use from 1966, only question is which variant: older RP-22S ( with R-3S/R-3R/R-55 ) or newer RP-22SM ( with additional missiles R-13M/R-60 ). Some countries outside WP get simplified aircrafts without newer missiles, even WP countries didn't used R-13 and R-60 before 1982, NO one outside Soviet Union got R-55. Don't exist ANY evidence for Bis with RP-21 and RS-2US, russian sources deny this revelations. Exist photo from 90's of polish MiG-21Bis with RS-2US from some airshow, tech crew suspended those missiles for fun. Some people just still mistaken Mig-21M/MF with Bis that's all. Gentlemen please be serious..............................
  9. Rs-2US only for RP-21/RP-21M/RP-21MA/RP-9 radars what means MiG-21PF/PFS/PFM/R/M/MF and Su-9. H-66 can be carried only by aircraft with RP-21M/RP-21MA radars, this means Soviet MiG-21PFS/PFM and export MiG-21M/MF. That's all, no for aircraft with RP-22, those both radars are different constructions, two different generations. Next missile with joystick steering is H-23M and have nothing common with H-66 except general the same aerodynamical scheme with EVERYTHING new inside. H-23M never was carried by any variant of MiG-21.
  10. You right, I forgot that letdown cone is cut at bottom, and have flat 21 km circle around runway. Cheers.
  11. So this means that Letdown mode is always finish over RSBN-4N antenna?. Pilot always must do RSBN box ( or some half box ) before he will start landing procedure, and is impossible perform PRMG landing straight from route?. I have to dig deeper about this.
  12. In manual is written literally that each fourth dot ( in NPP center left and right side ) means 4 up to 6 deg. Because KRM-4 accuracy is 0,25 deg, this error is on NPP side and I think this is not typical error rather maximal error. On your drawings Letdown zone center point not should be 21 km before runway, instead in middle of the runway?.
  13. On DW-30 must be set runway air pressure mainly for appropriate glide path accuracy. Baro or Radalt will be use depend from pilot's preferences and approach terrain conditions. Generally this is secondary issue because pilot's attention is focused on glide path. Yep it's bit strange, but I think this maybe have some connection with aircraft's flight properties i.e. is more stable at 8000 m in comparision to 10000 m level. Yes, sorry small mistake. KRM-4 range at 200 m is 40 km, at 1000 m 80 km. Yes, KRM-4 antenna system itself have 0,25 deg accuracy, but from pilot's point of view ( NPP ) this is -+2 deg because of indication accuracy. My manual ( for Su-20 aircraft ) does not mention about that. I think those are data for different system. Soviet civilian aircrafts have used different landing system - SP-50. I have manual somewhere , but honestly I never read her.
  14. Sorry, implemented behavior is correct, deviation indicator working in all RSBN-5 modes.
  15. Great work Frederf, I really like your attitude to details. Some corrections, all data from RSBN-5 and RSBN-6 manuals. All Soviet short range radio navigation sets working with RSBN-4: RSBN-5, RSBN-36, RSBN-6S, A-312 etc. Depend from aircraft type, for L-39 8000 m AGL, for most others 10000m AGL. 600 m above antenna level ==> AGL. RSBN-4 range: at 200 m AGL (flat terrain )-no less 40 km, at 1000 m AGL - 120-140 km, at 5000 m AGL - 240 km, at 10000 m AGL - 360 km, Reading zone is 4-6 deg. each side ( total 8-12 deg. ). This 2 deg. difference is beacause of isntruments azimuth accuracy +-2 deg. . Not less 18 km at 400 AGL, in most conditions 21-23 km. PRMG-4 range data: -azimuth channel distance: at 300 m AGL - 20 km, at 1000 m AGL - 80 km, at 10000 m AGL - 180 km, -landing path channel: at 300 m AGL - 20 km, at 1000 m AGL - 80 km, RSBN-5/RSBN-6 system typical accuracy ( Navigation/Letdown mode ): Autonomous mode ( without signal from RSBN-4 ): distance error - no more 0,8 km/min at speed 800 km/h, azimuth error - no more 0,5 deg/min at speed 800 km/h, Radio-correction mode ( with signal from RSBN-4 ): distance error - no more 200 m at speed 800 km/h, azimuth error - no more 0,25 deg total at speed 800 km/h ( but instument indications accuracy 2 deg. ). Whole system block scheme. RSBN-4/PRMG-4 dislocation at the airfield.
  16. It's MiG-21 Bis type 75B with some custom changes in cockpit.
  17. Honestly I have no idea. Cobra said no, has not existed, and I don't have reason to not believe him. I just hope ( like many others users ), that in near future LN will improve Bis navigation system and we will got RSBN like in L-39 plus of course "real" ARK. Like I wrote few posts ago,I can share with manual if they needed.
  18. Yep that's the same manual. Enjoy.
  19. If you read russian I can send you whole manual.
  20. Manual is in Polish language, if this is not the problem ( I know that LN have some Polish guys in team ) of course I'm able to share.
  21. No problem my friend: Whole set for fighters ( bit different was for bombers, transport etc ). 1. Antennas, 2.Power unit, 3.Light and sound indication unit, 4.Indicator, 5. Video amplifiers. SPO-10 functional scheme. Indicator scheme. Video amplifier scheme. Inside light/signal block. Light/signal unit scheme. S3M-11M block scheme. Board 1M scheme. Board 2M scheme. Board 3M scheme. S3M-4A scheme. S3M-4 scheme. S3M-10 scheme. Bit description: Board 1M - ASO automatic dump unit, Board 2M - cascade amplifier, Board 3M - blocking and sound signal unit, S3M-4/S3M-4A - steering unit, S3M-11M - light signaling channel ( four in total ).
  22. That's great news. If you need i have manual for RSBN-5S.
  23. Exist few threads about that. You can download DCS L-39 manual from here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=149376 Read RSBN part and compare with what we have in MiG-21, you will see difference.
  24. Guys, you forgot about one of most important problem: navigation. RSBN have only little common with RL, should work like in L-39, ARK almost in the same situation. In my opinion navigation in this module should be built one more time almost from scratch.
  25. Yep guys, you right, over-interpretation from my side, well is Friday....:music_whistling:.
