  1. Hi wed, I noticed that your flight recording was recorded with Tacview 0.93 (*NOT* the new 0.93b version). This is why your flight recording is too big (1.5 GB when effectively unpacked) to be handled by the 32 bits version of Tacview. I suggest you to uninstall properly (through the microsoft windows control panel) any previous release of Tacview then reinstall and ask Tacview 0.93b to setup its new non-bugged export script for Flaming Cliffs. However, I will release soon a new version which will be able to handle those “invalid” flight recordings gracefully.
  2. Thanks for the heads up. I'm going to check that flight recording very soon.
  3. Hot fix 0.93b available: FIXED Flaming Cliffs flight recordings were twice bigger as required IMPROVED Weapons labels are now a little shorter IMPROVED Russian flight recordings support http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=560641
  4. New 0.93 version Hot fix 0.93b available: FIXED Flaming Cliffs flight recordings were twice bigger as required IMPROVED Weapons labels are now a little shorter IMPROVED Russian flight recordings support http://tacview.strasoftware.com/
  5. Finally I have enough information to fix that issue. I’m going to release a new version soon. Thanks for your feedback Wed.
  6. bigger acmi file Thank you wed. You are right: Your flight recording is indeed bigger than expected. Can you share me the track file? That will help me to fix this issue.
  7. "Accurate" Lock-On terrain vs Real Life Terrain Crunch, haven’t you tried Tacview 0.93 or read the release notes? By default Tacview now displays the terrain from Flaming Cliffs/Black Shark. It is indeed pretty “accurate” since units going through mountains are now a pretty rare case. Let’s have a look at the following screenshots: On the left you can see the terrain from real life (like in previous version of Tacview or like when you ENABLE “Real Terrain” in the options menu) On the right you can see Lock-On terrain which is now displayed by default. You can notice that Lock-On terrain is indeed offseted (like Prinzartus did noticed). Those pictures speak by themselves :music_whistling: (Note that FC terrain is more accurate than the Lock-On one. And BS terrain is even more accurate than the FC one, but it is still less accurate than STRM3 (real life) terrain which can be seen in Tacview when "Real terrain" is ENABLED)
  8. Huge flight recordings With DCS: Yes. (because there a lot more details recorded than in FC) With FC: Not really. (except if you have an heavy loaded battlefield) I any cases, if you can share me your flight recordings (for example on http://www.filefactory.com/ or on your own ftp), I will have a look at them. Then I will do appropriate optimizations in my exporter to reduce the size as required without loosing too much quality. Also, remember that you can style do a "Save/Save As" in Tacview to compress any text flight recording into a compressed binary file which will be much smaller. Does this answer to your question?
  9. Just to help you wait until DCS global release, here a mini flight recording: Black Shark Mini Demo (Requires Tacview 0.93) Enjoy all the cool little details you will be able to record! ;)
  10. Yes, because in FC/BS, the ground is not at the same position as in real life ;)
  11. PHPTacview Hi Michael, In fact I didn’t work on PHPTacview. It was done by Ezor. From what I can see, you just have to copy everything somewhere on your web site. The main file is tacview.php. Have a look at example.php which shows you how to call the root function to display statistic in any language available in the “languages” folder for any XML log file you want. Also, remember that PHPTacview was originally written for older versions of Tacview. Since Tacview 0.93, some XML tags have changed. So you would have to fix some parsing functions like startTag. Tacview reference documentation is up to date there: http://lomac.strasoftware.com/tacview-xml-debriefings.php I sure you will understant that I can’t help you more, because I’m already "too" busy working on the next release of Tacview. ;) You can still try to contact Ezor for help.
  12. Indeed, when "real terrain" option is enabled Tacview display the terrain from real life (the one from Nasa Shuttle Radar Topography Missions). Since FC/BS are not as accurate, you will then notice an offset and resolution difference. Notice that units positions remain the same.
  13. In this way: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=32597 Enjoy!

  15. Indeed you are right... This is why 0.93 is as fast as the 0.91 and use up to 40% less memory!
  16. Hello everyone! Tacview 0.93 is now gold and will be released at the same time as Black Shark. Whatever your are going to flight with Flaming Cliffs or Black Shark this autumn, you will probably appreciate all the improvements made in this new version. I can't say more right now ;) Stay tuned!
  17. Greetings! The ones who want to create statistics for theirs squadrons can find detailed XML debriefing specifications here: http://lomac.strasoftware.com/tacview-xml-debriefings.php Since these specifications are for Tacview 0.93, developers motivated by this subject can ask me for a private alpha version of Tacview in order to carry out their project. Obviously this requires a justification. ;) If you have questions or requests, do not hesitate to contact me. Here a sample from Ezor's PHPTacview script:
  18. Indeed! This option is still planned and should be available soon. If you look well, you can notice it. This is the currently disabled "Debriefing -> Edit Comments" command.
  19. Sure. I going to see if I can add that into the next version.
  20. Infantry support This is a general improvement to offer better support for any present or future flight simulators which has infantry in it.
  21. Looks like a driver issue, or may be a problem with fraps or any other resident/previously loaded program which affect 3D rendering. Ensure that you are using the latest drivers from nVidia and try to reboot your computer with no resident or any exotic tools. Also, please tell me how it is with the latest version 0.92.
  22. Reference objects Indeed! A feature like that is planned for incoming releases. But keep in mind that since I'm using data from real life, theses objects will not exactly match those from Black Shark. However you can still add your own statics objects like explained here: http://lomac.strasoftware.com/tacview-static-objects.php I can add new objects types on request.
  23. Tacview 0.92 is now available! Find all details and links on the official web page: http://tacview.strasoftware.com/ Here the main improvements: New customizable graphical user interface (among other things, enable you to have a pseudo full-screen mode) Added preliminary support for Black-Shark Added more landscape (France) for Digital Fighters Infantry is now supported Ground speed (GS) is now displayed in telemetry Tacview now automatically load any xml file which has the same name as current flight recording (that way you can add static objects more easily to any mission) Added support for waypoint static objects in xml files (documentation is coming) Binary flight recordings are now 40% smaller (thanks to 7z compression) Vista is now fully supported (GUI & UAC)Enjoy! 24. Tacview debriefing Hello Renato, I’m going to add details about Tacview debriefing xml files in coming weeks on the following page: http://lomac.strasoftware.com/tacview-xml-debriefings.php But I’m not going to explain how to read an xml file: http://www.w3schools.com/xml/
  25. Lock-On vs Reality Hi SuperKungFu, In fact nothing has changed regarding geographical data. This is the usual difference you can observe between Lock-On and the reality. I didn't plan to improve that. But in incoming releases, you may be able to "fix" that by yourself.
