  1. Thanks for your mission, it too crashes for me when I select an F-86 and commit. Since I can ramp start on single player missions in the F-86, and since I can ramp start on multiplayer missions in the A-10C, it seems that my problem is isolated to client ramp starts in the F-86. Please note that this crash behavior is consistent whether connecting through DCS World (i.e. single player) or DCS Multiplayer. If my mission works for you (and it should since it is basically the same as yours but with less aircraft and no opponents) with the latest update applied (.594), I think I will have to do a DCS World reinstall and retest. Once I get this sorted out and learn how to fly and fight in this cool little aircraft, I'd welcome a flight with you! Thanks again for your help!
  2. Thanks man. I don't have any mods installed. I did run the DCS Repair, as instructed. I still get the CTD when I try to jump into a custom mission involving an F-86 and a ramp or parking lot start at Batumi (assuming other airfields as well, but not verified), but I can fly custom missions where the aircraft is already airborne. I have attached a simple mission that crashes after I choose the aircraft I want to slot into and then commit. Something certainly seems bugged out, or else I am doing something wrong with the mission itself. But that's unlikley, given that the mission is so simple. Thanks for your feedback and ideas, this one is puzzling to me and is keeping me from flying the Saber with friends! F86 1p 1.0.miz
  3. I am trying to set up a 2-ship Saber flight for multiplayer and I am having problems with crashes to desktop. While I am not a proficient mission designer by any stretch, I feel competent enough to create simple flights. Hopefully you can help! First, here is how I am creating my Saber mission using that latest updated of DCS World (as at Dec. 22, 2014). I open up DCS World and create a new mission in the editor. I create two one-ship F-86 flights at Batumi. I set the pilots in each to Client and I set the initial waypoint to takeoff at ramp. I do not set any other waypoints or make any other mission changes, I just save the mission. Here is my problem. I close DCS World and run DCS World Multiplayer. I host a server and choose my mission. The mission loads and I see two F-86s that a player can jump into. I choose either one and click Briefing. There is no text in the briefing; it's just blank. I then click Fly. DCS stops responding and I get a pop up window informing me of this. DCS crashes. Is there something glaringly wrong that I am doing to create a simple multiplayer Saber flight? I tried a few different things but I always get the same CTD. Any help is appreciated!
  4. My HOTAS Warthog has an incredibly sensitive coolie hat. When I try to coolie left or right long to set my MFDs as SOI in DCS A-10C, the diagonal is often triggered and results in an unintended coolie left or right short. Is there a way to null out the diagonal presses of the coolie so that it only registers on pure up, down, left, or right presses? I am not an expert with the TARGET Script editor, but I am comfortable working with it if given some hints. Any help is appreciated!
  5. Another idea to consider is to map BVR and ACM to the boat switch (fore and aft), but not map Nav to the middle position. Instead, map Nav to the TMS (e.g. TMS-Up) and then complement it with Cycle Waypoint on TMS-Left. Of course, this is all personal preference, but it allows you to get into your fighting mode, turn on your radar, and keep the radar on as you cycle between combat modes.
  6. Thanks for the speedy reply! Now I know what I'm up against and we better finish the mission on our first try :-)
  7. How do you get your AI wingman to RTB, refuel, rearm, and then take off again? I am assuming you instruct him to RTB and that he will land, taxi, refuel, rearm, and follow you out if you wish to take off again. But I could be mistaken. In a simple test, I instructed my wingman to RTB, which he did. He landed, and then taxied to the ramp and finally shut down. I was unable to get him to start back up, let alone rearm and refuel so that we could accomplish the mission. Any tips on how to do this are appreciated!
  8. Hi TimeKilla, Make sure you set your Rotary 1 or Rotary 2 to Directional Axis. Drag the sensitivity bar to the left so it is about 10% of the overall length. Then right-click on the + command box and choose New Advanced Command... Name the command and under the Press box, hit the keyboard key you have mapped to Goggle Gain Up (I think you remapped it to +, so press and release the + sign). You will see two + signs, one for the press and one for the release. Right click in the Press box and Quantize Time.... Set it to 0. Then select the second + sign (the key release) and right-click. Choose Set Delay... and set it to 0.050. Check the Macro checkbox on the right hand side and then click OK. Repeat the process for Goggle Gain Down. If you save the profile and then activate it,your gain up and gain down will be controlled with turns of the rotary up and down. The macro will only send one key press for each directional move up and down. I've been using it for a few days and it works great. Good luck and let me know if your require further assistance. And thanks for the 'rep! It's appreciated.
  9. For those of you with an X52 Pro, here is a little tip on how to get the night vision goggle gain programmed to use your rotary. In SST, simply set the rotary to Directional Axis, knock down the sensitivity (10% is what I use), and program advanced commands for + and -. The result is a not-too-sensitive gain up and down control for your night vision goggles. See the screenshots for specifics. I hope this helps any of you who want to use the rotary for something in A-10! For the record, I use a bare SST profile for my controller and map the buttons within A-10. But I use SST for the speed brake slider and now for NVG gain.
  10. Refueling tips for Saitek X52 Pro users I recently purchased an X52 Pro, primarily to get the throttle stick for aerial refueling. While the stick has been an excellent addition to my flight sim experience, I found that my aerial refueling was still suffering - short boom hookups and many disconnects. However, I adjusted my axis curves and the results were IMMEDIATE - I was able to completely refuel the A-10 on the first try after making the adjustments. I have posted screen shots of my axis curves, but of course everybody's preferences will be different. However, the biggest positive change for me was the throttle curve. By setting it to -15, I found that I could finally control my distance on the boom. This curvature makes it so that movements on the throttle have less of an increment or decrement effect at mid levels. Sure, I still disconnect a few times, but it is extremely easy to get back onto the boom and continue filling up. So, if you are having trouble with your A-10 refueling, particularly many boom connects and disconnects, and you have an X52 Pro, at the very least change your throttle curvature to something in the negative range. You might be surprised at how effective this small change is. Good luck!
  11. I seem to get an Autolase Fail if I use the FUNC -> FPM and switch the flight path marker from AUTO to MAN and then try to drop a LG bomb immediately after (with the profile set to 10 second lase time and auto-lase on). Perhaps that does something to the TGP's tracking mode? If that is the case, are there any quick steps I can follow to reset the CDU so that it does not interfere with the TGP (assuming that it is causing the problem)? Many thanks!
