  1. I'm seeing the same thing with the A10C. Also, the time flown seems to start with about -1 hour. I've flown three campaign missions in a training campaign for a total of about 90 minutes and yet the total time shown in 26mins with the A10C total still showing zero. WB.
  2. SOLVED: The above pictures were what provided me with the key to solving this issue. Despite the fact that windows recognises my HOTAS as the Warthog, DCS listed the throttle and joystick as 5 axis 32 button joystick and 2 axis 19 button joystick respectively. This is how it was for 1.27 and all worked OK with DCS recognising and using the default Warthog profile. With 1.28, DCS would not recognise my setup as a Warthog and hence a lot of the functionality was lost. After much gnashing of teeth and testing nothing worked including the many suggestions in this thread. Eventually, I searched the windows registry for every entry with '5 axis 32 button joystick' and '2 axis 19 button joystick' and replaced them with 'Throttle - HOTAS Warthog' and 'Joystick - HOTAS Warthog' and hey presto problem solved. I spent the best part of two and a half days trouble shooting the problem and the fix took 5 mins to implement. I've no idea why Windows chose to list the Warthog the way it did though I suspect an error during instillation a couple of months back. Thanks to everyone who offered help and good luck to those still having issues around joystick set-up. Regards, WB.
  3. Yes tried that, and deleted all profiles and unplugged the Warthog etc as mentioned in another post. The joys of computers!! :helpsmilie: WB.
  4. Just to clarify windows sees the Warthog for what it is: WB.
  5. Thanks Derbysieger, you've described exactly how it was for me with 1.27 but 1.28 is different for some reason. Maybe the .diff.lue file extension is the issue. What's interesting here is that the column titles in the above post reflect the fact that a Warthog HOTAS is installed. In the scenie below you can see that my system only recognises the stick and throttle as a 2 axis 19 button joystick and a 5 axis 32 button joystick. Could this be the issue? ALthough, having said that, it was like that in 1.27 and still worked OK. Anyone know how to force DCS to recognise the Warthog HOTAS? Regards, WB.
  6. No need to be like that. I appreciate your help but I'd already answered your question in an earlier post. I've read a few things about the TARGET software causing problems for some people so I've avoided it and all worked well till this recent update. I can diagnose the health of my HOTAS using Windows device manager - all buttons and axes are recognised and working. Again thanks for the advice. WB.
  7. As already stated I don't use the TARGET software, don't see the need. And I didn't install the beta I went straight from 1.27 to 1.28. WB.
  8. Thanks Joey but does that include TM Warthog specific profiles or just a default.lua? WB.
  9. Thanks Derbysieger but those profiles were almost empty. When I loaded them there were only a few commands associated with them, most of the HOTAS stuff was missing. Will take another look in case I missed something. WB.
  10. Can somebody please post up the deafult new Warthog profile luas please? Think I might have accidently deleted all mine in a fit of pique! WB.
  11. USB 2 as far as I know. Don't know what combined mode is. I'm not running the TARGET software. I just plugged both the joystick and the throttle into a powered USB hub then used the default profiles and all worked well. The only change I made to the default was assigning trim to the trim switch instead of the default view options. All was fine until the 1.28 update today. I didn't make any changes to the controller profile initially until I realised the engines weren't shutting down when I pulled the throttle back to the détente position. Then I noticed that things like the boat switch centre position was not recognised, the pinky switch wouldn't work the lights as they did before, the APU Start button would turn on the APU but switching it off had no effect. The other buttons on the throttle quadrant don't seem to work either ie Eng Flow switches and the Eng Oper switches. I stress that ALL was working fine before the update. Running the windows devices program shows all buttons working correctly so I'm convinced it's a problem with DCS. I notice that the new profiles shipped with the update have a .diff.lua file extension, what does this mean? Any help muchly appreciated. I've wasted a day trying to sort this when I was looking forward to some A10C action instead. Cheers, WB.
  12. Simbo and others, can you confirm the following: Boat switch returns to centre after going forward and aft? Throttle pinky switch goes to centre? mine will only go to forward/aft APU start switch returns to off position? Mine will go to on but not back to off Throttles with shutdown engines when pulled back to off (détente) position? I don't use target profiler. I've always used the default Warthog profiles provided. WB.
  13. Thanks for the help, I'll keep at it and report back if I get anywhere. WB.
  14. No modifiers. Certain inputs just don't seem to be recognised when trying to select them in the relevant controls section. WB.
  15. Tried that but certain functions don't work. See the above list. Cheers, WB.
  16. Just updated to 1.2.8 and now certain functions of my TM Warthog HOTAS won't work. IE: Throttle pinky switch centre position Boat Switch Centre position Throttles won't start/stop engines when going out/in the détente position APU switch will start but not go to off Anyone else having isues? I've tried reloading the profiles but they don't seem to be recognised. How can I roll back to 1.2.7 if necessary? Regards, WB.
  17. Haven't installed the beta, still running regular 1.27. WB.
  18. How does one update? I just launched the sim and no auto update took place. WB.
  19. Does anybody have a link or more info for the charts used in these vids to calculate engine performance and takeoff distances etc? WB.
  20. Thanks Bunyap for a great series. Your videos have helped me tremendously. Cheers, WB.
  21. TrackIR definitely. And if you're really getting into the A10C I'd recommend the Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS. I had recently spent a lot of time setting up my Saitek X45 to work with A10C and got it to where I was reasonably comfortable with it. I then got a good deal on the Warthog HOTAS and it's a joy to use. It really does make the switchology an order of magnitude easier to learn and adds to the immersion. Good luck, WB.
  22. Thanks guys, some great stuff in those documents. Cheers, WB.
  23. Hello all, I'm wondering if there is an actual training syllabus anywhere on the net? I'd like to see how the a various phases of training are organised and how much time is allocated to each aspect of flying/systems use etc? I'm sure the USAF must have a standardised training syllabus for ab-initio pilots? Regards, WB.
