  1. I have setup various custom snap views in the P51 but i kind of think the stick is like the pilot body it doesn`t really serve a purpose , if you need to reference your control inputs you can look at the controller display. It`s rather like a full replica home cockpit just using the view with the hud and no other instrument displays ect you don`t need to see them as you are already displaying them in your real world pit and don`t need them replicated on screen, same with the stick i have one in real life so don`t need to see one on the screen especially if they obscure the VVI and TURN SLIP indicator .:joystick:
  2. Is it possible to not have the stick rendered in the cockpit view allowing a clear view of the instruments behind. The controller display shows your control inputs and my real world stick reflects the position of the cockpit stick.
  3. I have just received my "NORTH AMERICAN F-86 SABRE PILOT`S FLIGHT OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS" through the post , it is primarily for the F-86 E but contains plenty of info regarding our model including the A4 gun sight and performance data for non slated as well as slated wing variants ect.
  4. Ye i read that post too and must admit the Sabre did display a roll to starboard after some extreme high G maneuvers as per the post which stated wing deformation is modeled but not tearing the wings off yet although the fact the airframe can generate 15 Gs must be wrong but hey it`s beta :)
  5. Hey not complaining it has a fantastic rate of turn at 15 Gs :) and the full throw stick makes it easy to avoid a stall. I think the module is superb and expect bugs as it`s in beta. Many thanks .
  6. Hi all i`m using a full throw stick of my own making and don`t have any game modes selected and can regularly pull 10 to 12 Gs and survive as long as i don`t hold the turn for too long and blackout , i have a tacview file where i pulled 15 Gs and was still flying afterward. Surely this isn`t right and seems to tally with the guys accused of hacking, maybe the Sabre is over performing in certain areas ?.
  7. Would it be possible to remove the stick from the cockpit view to enable a clear view of the vvi ect . An animated stick is like a pilot body it gets in the way and i can see my own body and stick .
  8. I just pulled 12.5 Gs at around 500 knots and the wings stayed on ye ha !
  9. I think it`s time for full throw controls , my joystick is roughly 18" tall and has about 12" of travel on each axis ( not boasting here :) ). My collective is roughly 12" long and has 10" of travel , VRS in the Huey is virtually a thing of the past the collective controlled by a short throw jet throttle being way too sensitive i can slow down and land with ease and hitched my first sling load last night. Flying the Eagle with the stick is also superb and the high pitch and roll rates can be thoroughly utilised. The stick and throttle currently use standard Saitek pots through a bu0836x interface but will soon be changed for Cherry Hall Effect Sensors. I am happy to share any of my controller details if anyone is interested.
  10. stick build an extended stick to roughly the same dimensions as the real P51 stick i did you will think it a lot less twitchy in fact it`s superb .
  11. inspiration Glad to be inspiring . It would seem that any aircraft with an analog control stick (not F15 eagle or F16 as they have SFS or Force Sticks ) would benefit from a full throw stick given that the BU 12bit interface gives over 4000 discrete steps on each axis as opposed to 256 from a standard 8bit joystick the increased movement range is needed to utilize this increase in resolution effectively . If your after any tips on the build LEAFER let me know.
  12. extended stick I have used a modified saitek x35 stick ( the one with the proper mechanism not the nasty center spring) interfaced with a BU836X 12bit card and found it to be excellent even with the ancient pots !. I recently extended the stick by 12 inches and can only say that combined with the p51 module it is the best, most precise input device i have ever used giving something like a inch and a half of travel from the onset of a stall to the actual stall proper . I have been practicing front and side slipping with it with ease but it still remains responsive. Are the linear responses designed for short throw desktop sticks or for sticks with a more realistic travel range ?
  13. Surely ignition advance is governed by engine RPM (mechanical advance and retard as on most spark ignition engines) and not MP setting ?
  14. anyone notice the heat wash comes out of the correct exhaust for a running engine and the debrief details system failures again , it seems the shark is not so forgotten after all :)
  15. hi all set up a simple two on one scenario with me in my KA-50 up against 2 AH64As , one apache took SIX vikhr missiles with various fuse settings before it went down on the other hand it took one vikhr per target to take down two KA-50s with the KAs falling apart pretty much as mine does when hit by a misslie. i have run this mission a number of times with the same results.
  16. sorry haven`t installed the latest update yet so must be something to do with that , i can confirm that the ai helos are way to tough with one ah64a taking SIX vikhr missiles with various fuse settings and in double salvos! interestingly i downed two ka-50s with a single vikhr each no problem
  17. hi boris i found the best way to get over the mountains in those missions is to start climbing as soon as you start your flight , you will easily reach 3500mtrs before you get to the peaks just remember to turn on all the deicing equipment and keep a lookout for the hinds on the other side!
