hiya sobek, I have solved it1 I had a corrupted updater .exe, so I downloaded the new one, couldn't unzipped in the ED folder so I was just running it zipped up! Fool me. I unzipped it in the downloads folder, placed it in the bin folder , ran the CMD line as detailed in the instructions and it worked ! a more realistic 2095 MB update. Thanks for replys Sobek and Marluk :) I'll be flying again soon! spud

FIXED THANKS g'day fellas, been of the net for a while and have resurfaced but with only mobile data and a limited download size. I went to update from 1.2.14.xx to 1.2.16.xx and the updater says its downloading 18000 Mbytes or 18Gig !! which seems to be a rather large update! it's the size of my whole ED folder. I was just wondering if it will actually do that or is just looking at the ED folder size? I would like to update but if it's that much I can't do it. Thanks in advance for any advice. spud

yeh I've got it to now after a BIOS update, tried the reg file but it didn't work but "First make sure you have your activation key handy somewhere. (in an email or a textfile) Then, startup "regedit" and look for this registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Leatherneck Simulations\DCS:MiG-21 BiS\Keys Delete it. quit the regedit program. Start-up DCS world and select any MiG-21 (quick)mission. DCS will ask for your key again. Copy and paste it from your Email or text file and you should be ready to fly." This does! :) down to 6 activations though, can I have some back please? Thanks spud

hiya fellas just got a new w8 pc DCS works great but everytime the updater runs it just crashes the whole pc. It kills windows and I have to turn off the power. I can still run DCS np but after the first updater crash the updater now says it's corrupted. I have uninstalled DCS and reinstalled to the same effect. I have to start DCS via the "run" exe and it's v1.2.12.35194. could I just grab a fresh updater? Thanks spud

yeh, but without the missiles and the pits are a bit misplaced. fun to fly around with the gun but I can't wait for a full on DCS attack / recon helo module. spud

It's something in the "aircraft_gun_mounts.lua" I can fly the Hind but have no loadouts, when I delete that file. Some of the text at the top of the lua is different when I compare the modded to the stock one, but I don't know how lua files work. I don't think it will take long for some who knows what they are doing to fix it. [update], the AH64A gun works , just can't get a pylon load out , did the same thing deleted "aircraft_gun_mounts.lua" and the pit position needs adjusting but for a bit of fun it is great!! seeyas spud

It's a cool mod , the one released on DCS downloads, but the old 3d model looks a bit sad compared to the new ones !! hehehe I have been to spoiled doesn't really matter from the pit tho. spud

G'day fellas , I have installed the F18c , the jgsme one and my LE flaps seem to be stuck in the lowered position, I can't seem to find a bind for them and they don't operate with the TE flaps. Any ideas ? Like this when in flight Thanks spud

yeh I have it too, the HDD seems busy when this is happening. I shut down as many processes as possible.Certainly has got worse lately :( spud

Well it certainly helped me! I had my collective set as a curve, changed to a slider and all of a sudden I can land, not very prettily mind you, but at least I live! Transitions are now much easier. I wonder how many people having problems haven't changed the collective to a slider? Thanks fellas!! enjoying this great sim a lot more now! spud

What have I done fellas ?? I still have it with the SU25 but have somehow stuffed it in the UH-1 module. My stick hat and number pad move it now, and I can't see to bind it back! any help appreciated Thanks spud
