Heatblur 2023 Kickoff and Greetings!
Leatherneck2382 replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
A-6 Intruder has been a dream plane for years. That can't come soon enough, but the F-4 might be enough to tide me over until then. -
I voted yes. The more maps the better, and old stomping grounds are always fun to have with newer toys.

what joystick, HOTAS, do you use ?
Leatherneck2382 replied to m1tp2king's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Saitek X52 Pro, with plans to get a set of Pro Pedals in the future. Not that I don't like the twist on my stick, but want a little more "true to life" control if that makes sense. Otherwise, it's a fantastic stick that didn't break the bank. -
New DCS Theater Maps Wish Wish List

I picked the Korean Peninsula. Feel like that area of the world is ignored more often than not, although the area around India/Pakistan would be interesting to fly in. -

This would be a fun bird to fly as well. Perhaps even Prowler variant as well for some variety? -
I'd actually sit the 2nd seat for a Hind or a few other aircraft. One, it would be a fantastic option for less experienced players to get a feel for a mission, learn the systems, etc. The cooperation would up the coolness factor, and might even make the game "less scary" for those that want into the serious simulations, as a stepping stone. Two, it would make for some excellent "trainer" style play. Finally, getting some hands on with some of the more complex weapon systems without having to fly, etc would be cool as heck.

You could get 4x FAB-250's for scaring the enemy. :megalol: Although, I do see your point. It does not have the payload of its NATO counterparts, which at least also seem to have more versatility. -

B-25, Hellcat, or the SB2C Helldiver. -
Would love to see some Amphibious Operations, and all that fun stuff. Which, would mean some fun Naval Bombardment options, CAS, etc. (Yeah, the Marine wants to have Marines, go figure.)

F-14 Tomcat. Though, wondering why no A/V-8 Harrier as an option. Would love to spend some hours with a non-arcade version. -

Totally the Panavia Tornado for me. Unsure which variant I like the most, but easily the first aircraft I try to unlock in arcade sims if it is an option. -

I voted for the Sukhoi Su-22M5 'Fitter'. Although, surprised to not see the Yakovlev Yak-38 'Forger' as a choice. Would be interesting to have a serious simulation with the Russian VTOL fighter. -
I'm rather disappointed that there's more votes for the Longbow than the Hind. Not that the Longbow is a bad platform, but I personally feel the Hind is far more iconic, and has not been given the justice of a serious flight simulation. There's this allure when seeing such a beastly helicopter that the Longbow simply does not have. So, obviously my vote was for the Hind. :sly:

As a huge Hind lover, was digging around on the internet and this thread came up. I see it's been a bit since someone last commented, but was wondering if in that time anything more about this topic came up. I'm waiting on a new flight stick so I can get back into flying, but really wanted something more in line with DCS quality and detail than the more arcade-like games out there with such an iconic helicopter. (On a side note, the AH-1 Cobra is another platform I'd love to see.)
