  1. Just wondering when the map I purchased a few weeks ago will become downloadable for 2.5 stable
  2. I have tried to update the sim recently a few times and it always starts up and shows that the version is 2.5.0.15365. As I purchased the new Persian gulf map which apparently has to have the sim running at Minimum Version Required: 2.5.2.17559 and I have been alerted that the updater says that my 2.5 version is up to date, and I cannot find the repair facility. My question is when will this map be available to the 2.5 stable version ( as I presume that is what I have) and is 2.5.0.15365. the correct update level for that version. Thanks in advance for any replies.
  3. My question as a Gold Backer is.. Since I purchased the P 51 before my rewards became active, and I haven't activated the digital key for this module on my modules page, is there any other option to trade/credit this module for another one or can I sell it. Information gratefully received
  4. Thanks for the reply and Yes I have checked this page but haven't found any answers for the questions I have asked
  5. I've got a gold backers reward and have always wondered on the item-- 'Copy of any Eagle Dynamics developed DCS product'- and what is available for that reward , also I pre-purchased a key for a P 51 and haven't taken up the P51 key from my backers rewards so am wondering if that is transferable to another product Regards Paul
  6. That's the program, Good find Combat Wombat! Didn't the of the YouTube route - Doh
  7. I was watching a TV series 'Man and Machine' last night -here in Australia and saw that a warbirds collector had obtained a flyable full size Yak 9U in his possession at Tyabb airfield,in Victoria. It was constructed from original jigs in Orenberg, Russia- there were actually 9 made from these jigs and took 2 years to construct. Then it was shipped to the USA for the installation of its power-plant. The original Klimov engines were unavailable (and actually had a life of only 50 hours in wartime)' so they installed an Allison V12 instead- more reliable and available it was mentioned. This 1400hp engine closely matched the power to weight characteristics of the original aircraft the series producers stated. It is painted in the livery of Ivan Stepanenko The other planes he had were 3/4 scale mustangs and spitfire, and also a full sized Yak 52 in his hanger, which was built by Aerostyle in Romania. By far the most interesting and original was the Yak 9U.
  8. So was the Devil if you believe the literature
  9. No sorry mate I used to be Crazy Goanna from the IL2 days till I realised that it's the rest of the world that's Crazy not me -- LOL
  10. I would like to see the mosquito in this simulation. It carried the same bomb load as a B17 and could also deliver it with pinpoint accuracy, as well as being incredibly fast, manouverable and versatile for a fighter-bomber of the era. The engines are already incoporated inthe Spitfie (reduced modelling) that is to be released when the sim is released. See -- for an interesting appraisal of this aircraft
  11. Interesting videos of P-47 from YouTube The "Ikea factor or uncrating/assembly" of a P-47 in the field is interesting. Uncrating and Field Assembly of the P-47 Thunderbolt Fighter http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2D3k0sJ8HM#t=16 This truly remarkable step-by-step training film shows how a ground support crew of fifty men could assemble a P-47 fighter in a farm field using nothing more than muscle, unpowered hand tools and pieces of the shipping crate it came in. We're talking nothing more than hammers, wrenches and bicycle pumps. You'll get a unique look at the inner workings of the big Jug as it is bolted together. Then a pilot jumps in and flies it away! A must see for P-47 fans and shade tree mechanics alike. How To Fly The P-47 - Pilot Familiarization (1943) How to Fly the P-47: Pilot Familiarization War Department. Army Air Forces. (06/20/1941 - 09/26/1947) ARC Identifier 2770 / Local Identifier 18-AF-107A. Describes flight characteristics of the P-47 Thunderbolt, including service ceiling, speed, power, fuel consumption, turbosupercharger system, use of turbo and throttled landing gear and flaps, armament, and switch and control panel. Shows use of the P-47 cockpit trainer. Includes preflight and cockpit checks, warm-up, taxiing, cruising, banking, stalling, speeds for approaches, turns, and landings. Also shows how to conduct postflight checks. How To Fly The P-47 - High Altitude Flight and Aerobatics (1943) How to Fly the P-47: High Altitude Flight and Aerobatics War Department. Army Air Forces. Stresses precautions and proper speeds for various altitudes. Also explains functions of turbosupercharger and water injection systems in high altitude flight.
  12. Yes I too thought it wouldn't have been to hade to have wished all (backers of WW2:Europe 1944 included) a happy Christmas etc since the "weekly updates" are becoming not weekly. The devs at BOS did a reallygood job of Xmas wishes and thanks. Just saying!!
