  1. I did, and understand it but it’s not about the brake, nor hold/release. In search for info on the actual behavior i constantly get stuck on info that ALT-MOD should NOT automatically recapture (actual behavior in-game automatically recapture) after heavy use and repositioning the thrustlever and release the brake for example after getting shot at by manpads and fast manouvering. Thats why i am asking what would be correct and don’t say its bad or a bug, cause i don’t know. Correct CH-47F Behavior 1. ALT Mode is ON → you press the thrust brake → you move the thrust lever (not slightly) The AFCS recognizes a pilot-commanded vertical change Therefore, ALT Hold immediately disengages This is intentional and correct ALT Hold will show OFF or drop its capture 2. You release the thrust brake Nothing re-engages. The aircraft remains out of ALT Mode You are now in basic vertical damping (A-Mode) 3. ALT Hold will not re-arm or re-capture on its own To get it back, the pilot must manually re-select ALT on the AFCS mode panel.
  2. Hi, Q, on actual RL behavior using thrust in engaged Alt-mode. When using the thrust and repositioning the thrust (not slightly) it will disengage the Alt-mode if active (intended) and displayed. When letting go of thrust in different position should it automatically lock aircraft back into Alt-mode and recapture? Actual behavior in DCS when using the thrustlever/brake and reposition the thrust in engaged Alt-mode will automatically recapture, lock and snatch the aircraft back into Alt-mode after releasing the thrust in new position. What would the RL aircraft do? I thought you would have to manually engage the Alt-mode again for safety reasons, like for example the AH64D when breaking ALT mode but could be wrong.
  3. Same.. no fix on CDU is a bummer.
  4. Hi, Not sure if it’s a bug or user fault. Above a certain altitude 8/9.000ft i get engine fail 2. When going below i can start it back up in the air. I also did cold start above certain altitude were engine 2 fails. Known? Anyone else?
  5. Ditto; even if it’s just a standard group of guys in the back.
  6. Hi, In two instances i told my buddy that he had a smoke trail from his CH47 after we got engaged. He could not see it himself. Anyone else have the same problem?
  7. Hi, When sling-loading the hatch on the floor is still closed when looking inside from pilot seat.

  8. Believe the Dutch (Netherlands) are one of the first buyers/users of the CH47F outside the US. Can we have the Dutch skin?
  9. Will there be real IR light in the future? If i choose IR on the searchlightmode switch it will go from white to red light. Would be nice to fly under IR lighting under nvg’s.
  10. I found this one of the most interesting podcast by information. It really bumped up my skills particularly on the aim54. The within 20nm and above 30nm actually works great. Many might already seen it, but some probably not. Gave me lots of understanding on the several f14 models.
  11. Not sure, and haven’t seen the actual problem myself but i do noticed a change in FOV so now and then. Even the external (F2) changes so now and then and is sometimes setup as 110. I do had the same question if something might have changed within FOV. This isn’t only specific towards the F18 and seen it on different modules.
  12. The problem i am having with this new technology is that there is no depth low level. Maps like Syria, Sinai, Mriannas, etc with the old technology have their own terrain elevations and less based on “google earth” image. Been to Iraq and Afghanistan myself during deployments and i can tell you there is hardly flat terrain even if it’s just a difference between 1/2 meter. Yes, from high up it all looks great, but low level this scenery becomes flat terrain and there is no depth anymore. Amazing 10 seconds later.. ..no elevations.
  13. Hi, My wish and hope is that the Iraq map will be made on the old way like Marinnas, Nevada, Sinai and Syria. Hope the terrain textures will not be like SA, Kola and Afghanistan. I understand and respect when other people like the more MSFS, FS2004, BMS global scenery, i just don’t. The problem i am having with this new technology is that there is no depth low level. 14. I feel the same sadly, disappointed and refunded for now. Looking at the quality from Mariannas, Syria, Sinai, Nevada and now Caucasus, this new standard used on SA, Kola and Afghanistan is something i personally don’t like. Feels like flying over a stretched image with bad rendering and bad depth depending on altitude. Afghanistan is known for a lot of low level assets Rotary and even Fixed like A-10 in Air-Ground situations. On this one i have to stay at least above 15k without losing immersion. I can fly hours on the other maps though, at low and high altitudes with great textures and immersion. Love ED but personally just don’t like the new technology building an map over image. As deployment to Afghanistan myself, i was looking forward on this one for many many years… I do respect and understand people with different opinion and maybe like the new standard as used in MSFS and FS2004 for maps, i just don’t; feels like we are getting into the BMS style providing world map.
