That Zero on your six isn't going to kindly wait for you to shut all your flaps before shooting.
The three cooling flap levers are close together, I'm sure on a real Corsair the pilot was able to close all three with a single hand movement.

I wonder how many people actually follow all those instructions in combat, lol.
I do ... practice them a lot on training first ... what's the point of having an accurate simulation if then we go and pilot the aircraft like it were a car?

The red lamp does not glow on my DCS, even tough the Master Armament switch is ON, Rocket Power ON, there are rockets on the wing mounts, and the engine is running (in case the battery alone didn't provide power for the Rocket Box).
Is this a bug, or an item not yet implemented?
The Safety plug seems to not be implemented, which makes sense as it is an item mostly used by the Ground Crew to prevent accidental rocket launches.

Roger, well if it works fine then there is nothing more to say, enjoy the sim -

50 GB is a lot.
Until the next build, it works fine, sans the don't need.
seems to me that you barely meet the recommended storage requirements (depending on which extra content you have bought):Recommended system requirements (HIGH graphics settings): OS 64-bit Windows 10/11; DirectX11; CPU: Core i5+ at 3+ GHz or AMD FX / Ryzen; RAM: 32 GB ; Free hard disk space: 500 GB on Solid State Drive (SSD) + extra space for paid content ;

Isit reall that much effort to for example make some variants of the A8 available?
Yes, developing simulated aircraft on DCS is a labor intensive job, which can take well over a year even for a "simple" variant. The only way such a development would be worthwhile is if there are enough DCS users willing to purchase it. As we already have two variants of the Fw-190 my guess is that not many people would purchase a third, I certainly wouldn't as I'd rather have a completely new aircraft.
48 minutes ago, Winger said:Or a few more 109 variants?
My guess is that an earlier 109, like the 109E, would sell well only if it was acompanied by a similar spitfire variant, say a Mk II, or even a Hawker Hurricane of the period. For my taste I would purchase a Spanish Civil War Bf-109B in an instant, and pair it against the I-16 (even tough the DCS variant is a much later one).
In my opinion, a WW2 best seller would be the Me-262 as it would appeal to both WW2 buffs and early jets lovers.
48 minutes ago, Winger said:Dont get me wrong. I love each and every plane in DCS. Its a great sim.
But there is simply far too little that can be put up against each other while maintaining ANY KIND of historical accuracy....Well, for one not every user is fixated on reliving history just as it happened, on my case I love to do missions that stray away from history a bit, for example having chilean P-47 doghfight against F4U from Argentine for example
The best way to convince ED that there is in fact a market for WW2 is to BUY .. that's why I have purchased every WW2 Module so far (and every map), and I'm enjoying the Corsair a lot, in spite of its expected early toothing bugs. And that's why I will purchase the La-7 as soon as it hits the store.

Do you have to install a plane or a Module like FC3 One something
no, just place its folder within /saved games/dcs/mods/aircraft/-

Takes a few minutes after every update to toss ~ 50 Gigs of don't need
seems to me that if 50GB is that important, then most likely what you really need is a larger storage … 50 GB is not going to solve your lack of storage.-

Certain aircraft are only available in certain cases
use the combined joint task forces blue and red, to be free from country restrictions, seems easier than modding dcs. -

Hello,
Some values of this chart do not match the limits shown on the gauges, for example:
Oil Temp: Redlined at 115 C° instead of 100, minimum shown at 30 instead of 40 C°. Normal range (blue) reaches up to 110 instead of 80 C°.
Fuel Press: On the gauge shows redline at 6 rather than 18.
Oil Press: On the gauge is redlined at 85 instead of 100.
They should match, to make it easier to respect the engine limits.

That negativity wont get you the fix sooner either.
Don’t waste your breath explaining things to this kind of user, they need to belittle other’s work so they can feel somewhat better with themselves, I send them straight to the ignore list as I won’t be losing much anyway-

Can I ask where I place the STM file and how I load once I'm on Afghanistan map in M.E.?
place it at /saved games/dcs/StaticTemplate/ if the folder doesn’t exist, create it manually.-

Does anyone know of a way you can definitely tell if the water injection is working? Aside from activating the water injection switch then pushing to full throttle I can’t seem to tell. Before the last update the green light would glow showing water was low. Now the light does not illuminate for me.
look at the Fuel Pressure gauge, the last patch modified it to show water pressure instead. It should show a positive value when its working:

Also, I'm a big fan and advocate for pilots conducting instrument scans properly, especially in this warbird.
You are correct, didn't think of that
.. on my mission I intend to use X:COCKPIT triggers to inspects these parameters that the Module offers:

Thanks, really nice for using when exploring the aircraft limits.
I'm currently on the first stages of editing a training mission for Engine management, using a Climb to 25,000 feet as a fixed situation to be able to monitor it using triggers. My purpose is to learn the proper use of all controls: Super Charger, cooling flaps, throttle, mixture, with the mission reminding me of operating the blower properly as we climb, learn to keep an eye on temps, etc. To give a worthwhile mission objective and add a sens of urgency, I intend to record the time it takes to get to 25,000, the less time the higher the score
because of this, I wonder if you could add to the script some engine management parameters, like cyl temp, oil temp, etc ... it would help me a lot while I develop my mission, as reading the gauges while flying makes me kind of lose focus on my aircraft handling
best regards,
Eduardo

the DCS Corsair has a long way to go…. 446 mph.
You maybe are confusing with the F4U-4 specs, the F4U-1 only did 378 mph at 20,000ft.

While I respect your statement one could argue that maps are a choice whereas as 'redundant' liveries are not.
Liveries may be redundant to you, but please do not speak for everyone else: For me, liveries add much for immersion on my own missions, as I strive to use the most appropiate liveries, so in addition to what ED gives us at CoreMods I also download extra liveries from User Files:

Thank you for you time but is not about few gigs of storage is a hundreds of gigabytes of bandwidth every single update! In matter of fact the CoreModules are not the one you bought/own they are just...there, despite the ownership
I'm so glad that I don't have to purchase them, I get to employ them for free on my own missions as either enemy or allied AI aircrafts and assets.

Don't you think people would rather use that money to upgrade to their RAM, than get a bigger SSD to store useless liveries only to accomodate your laziness?
This theme of removing liveries to accomodate people with smaller storage cames up every few months, and its not laziness but rather I find that any such scheme will not really eliminate the cause of the problem, as a few extra GB will not solve much if your drive is too small.
On my DCS the biggest use of space come from the Maps, not CoreMods:
almost 1/3 storage space is used by my maps, 1/4 is on CoreMods, 1/5 on aircraft Modules. Even if all coremod liveries were removed, I would only recover around 1/6 of the space ... so, I don't find the effort truly worthwhile.

Sorry for this but with all due respect, SSD or M2 drives 2TB-4TB, are the cheapest component for a computer. Buy a 4TB drive and enjoy all liveries at will.
Totally agree, most of the suggestions here will inconvenience those that have an appropiate amount of storage, in order to allow an unknown quantity of users to employ a smaller SSD drive.

The Corsair provides quite a lot of useful Parameters to use with the X:COCKPIT PARAM IN RANGE trigger condition, like:
COWL_FLAPS_LEVER CYLINDER_HEAD_TEMPERATURE FUEL_FLOW FUEL_PRESSURE FUEL_PUMP FUEL_SELECTOR FUEL_TANK_MAIN HYDRAULIC_PRESSURE INTERCOOLER_DOORS_INDICATOR INTERCOOLER_LEVER MAGNETS MANIFOLD_PRESSURE OIL_COOLER_DOOR_INDICATOR OIL_COOLER_LEVER OIL_PRESSURE OIL_TEMPERATURE PITOT_HEAT PITOT_TUBES_STATUS PRIMER RPM_DIAL RPM_NEEDLE WATER_PRESSURE
However, there is none providing information on the ammunition remaining for the guns, would it be possible to add Parameters with this info?
It could be one for total ammunition, but more flexible would be to have the info separately for each gun, Also, an indicator denoting if a Gun is jammed would be really useful when editing training missions.
Thanks for the great warbird, I'm truly enjoying learning it. Cheers,
Eduardo

I would need to be a 3-dimensional sorting at least:
- per aircraft
- per terrain
- per mission
.. plus with an override per sorting criteria: all aircrafts, all terrains, all missions
You are complicating things unecesarily, terrains have a single kneeboard section each and that is more than enough, each mission can already have their own kneeboard (plus one for each aircraft type) so more than enough already ... having DCS "remember" my sticky dividers, per aircraft, is what's still missing.

yes, this aircraft does not have support for keyboard control of the flight surfaces nor throttle. If you don’t have a joystick, you can connect an x-box controller which is not ideal but it is less expensive.
