If you are on a clean install like me I would like to ask you to try this and see if the same happens to you.
It doesnt happen on my end, but windows does complain that the program can't attend my click request:

I paid 60 bucks for the L-39 a while back and these issues not getting fixed makes this product start feeling more and more like a scam, really.
60 bucks? … you really ought to take advantage of the frequent sales that ED does, I paid us$35 for my L-39 during a sale back on 2017. You could also have avoided this "scam" by doing a free 2-week trial before purchasing, or at least take a glimpse at this Forum to gather opinions prior to spending your money.- 1

It would be cool to have kill marks
How would you implement it? Some Me-109 placed their kill marks on the tail, while others had them beneath the canopy, how would DCS distinguish?

Input would be greatly appreciated.
Also, a bit OT, but is the F4 Phantom going to be Carrier capable?
Nevada has no sea, so no carrier ops are possible. Heatblur's F-4 initial release is an E version, so no carrier capable either. Hopefully a sales success will trigger the addition of a Naval variant.

Yes, OvGME cannot handle big files. Here is a link to the successor:
Yes, but pity that the successor is nowhere as easy to use as the original ... I will stick to OvGME and simply waste a bit of disk space by keeping the few large Mods that I have in uncompressed format.

Did you saw this plea at CH website? "Please DO NOT redistribute the mods without permission!"

Same problem. The targets are completely off position after having done a ELINT mission.
I'm currently re-learning the Vigggen and will soon study its ELINT abilities, I will post here any findings that I get. I find it curious that no one from Heatblur acknowledged the bug report made by the OP, I know that they must be busy with the Phantom, but at least one person of the team should be maintaining the Viggen, isnt it?
Edit: here is a very recent video, by @deephack, on the Syria Map and the ELINT feature seems to work normally:

I want to check whether some warning/caution light, let's say AVIS.PERD. is on. I wanted to use X: COCKPIT ARGUMENT IN RANGE, but I can't find the argument.
The argument is 167. A value between -1 to 0 is when the light is Off, a value from 0.01 to 1 denotes a light On. Here is a test mission.
I found the correct argument using the Modelviewer utility. It is very tedious as there is no way to get the argument of a cockpit element, I had to try moving arguments (metodically, I tested every 10 arguments, as the warning lights make for a fairly big group of arguments, once you find one, the others are nearby).

So what do you do when a DCS update fails because your AV detects something wrong in one file that is needed for just one module?
Never happens to me, since I have the DCS Folder excluded from the AV action.
18 minutes ago, sthompson said:Do you uninstall the module? What if they never fix it, which in my experience is the norm.
Why should ED fix it? It is an Antivirus fault ... you can report the issue to your AV support line, they will inspect the file and told you if it is really infected or not.
18 minutes ago, sthompson said:When I've reported this as a bug I've universally been told that it's a false positive that I should ignore and create an exception for, but no one ever offers any proof that it's a false positive.
I think it all boils down to who you trust more? Eagle Dynamics or your AV maker? If you want to be 100% sure it is a false positive, send the offending file to your AV support, they should be able to identify exactly what virus they have detected, if any.
18 minutes ago, sthompson said:As to the second point, I've never gotten SRS to run properly except with admin privileges. Not sure why it needs those. If anyone has thoughts on how to run it without admin privileges I would like to know how.
Can't help with that, as I dont use SRS, hopefully someone else can share his experience.

Here is a video walkthrough of one of my missions, on ccip bombing:
The T-45 sight is pretty accurate, so you are unlikely to miss the target- 2

Zoom is VERY helpful but isn't that kinda Cheating??? We can't zoom in real life...
In real life we have much better eyesight than DCS can represent, so to me zoom is not a cheat but actually a compensation- 2

Sorry to bother you again, but flying to the Admiral Kuznetsov, I find myself short a parking place. How do I free up a space to park my Su-33.
Hi,The templates are like a starting point, you start with a mission of your own (can be a new or an existing mission) then decide that you need a red fleet on it, load the template and the fleet gets added to your mission … the template itself is not modified, it is still there to use some other time.
Then you can keep editing your mission, at that point you can edit the carrier deck and eliminate whatever static is needed to clear space… my statics are usually hidden, so you might need to tell the Editor to show hidden objects in order to be able to delete some.

I go on hard chemotherapy and my only side effect is total lack off short term memory.
Sorry to hear that, wish you a trouble-free recovery. I'm truly looking forward to flying this bomber on DCS, already got the Flight Manual of the real thing, so I can make a training mission for it whenever it is released.

Excellent work. One question… I notice that the “U” command raises the Blast Deflector Shield but not the chocks.. Is there another command for this?
Thanks for the kind words ... unfortunately the Kuznetsov is bugged at the moment, the U command should raise the wheel chocks, but it is no longer working.

I have a fairly new 4090 pc setup only for Dcs use. I want to install anti virus but dont want all the troubles ive read people having when trying to add mods and install uodates. Any help will be greatful
I use the one that comes included with Windows: MS Defender … any AV can detect false positives, to prevent that I exclude the DCS file path from AV action.- 1

Are you working on an Alphajet? ... I don't know how advanced you are on the project, but I'd love to be able to edit some missions for it when it is released
Best regards,

Does anyone know of any good places to find in depth tutorials on how to use the latest mission editor?
most tutorials on this subject are oriented towards new dcs users, and so are not really "in-depth" … the most in-depth ME tutorial that I’ve ever seen is this series, by @Ranger79:I know that it is pretty old, but the concepts it teaches are still valid … the biggest change when you use the current Editor to follow the tutorial examples, is that currently the flags can be named, and the trigger zones can be rectangular in addition to circular.
11 hours ago, maverick90 said:Also are older mission editor files compatible with the latest version of DCS?
yes, but if you change the mission in anyway (even if just changing the map pov) and then save, the mission’s internal format will be updated to the current miz version.

I've updated the first post with how to use ModelViewer with the Saved Games folder
thank you … really useful -
As a first step, look into your Antivirus activity log, to ensure that it has not restricted access to files it deems dangerous. As a second step, you could attach your dcs.log file to gather more clues about this issue.

Complain about L-39 follow up !
in Bugs and Problems
Posted
ok, but this thread is about "fix all the issues" of the module, not overhauling it. When I purchase a dcs module, I buy it "as is", there is no compromise of overhauling it every few years … it would be an impossible cost for the developer to have the original price cover the cost of such overhauls.
on my case, the issues that the L-39 has do not bother me all that much, and I feel that the flying that I have done with it over the years make it a worthwhile purchase, so I don’t feel "scammed" at all, but that’s me
