The United States are preparing to attack Iran. The assault is already late by 8 hours, but the leadership insist that the attack must go ahead. USAF have set up operations on air bases in the entire gulf region and the massive first strike is primarily focused on Teheran. Several carriers have also been dispatched to the Red sea and Indian ocean, but USN not yet entered the Persian gulf. A smaller strike force has been assigned targets around Bandar Abbas in the Straight of Hormuz. The strike will be launched from the forward air base of Al Minhad, south of Dubai, and the Carrier Battle Group that just arrived to Gulf of Oman. Weakening Irans capabilities in the Bandar region will allow the US Navy to enter the Persian Gulf and conduct operations deeper into Iran. Iran has a significant IADS network in the area as well as plenty of early warning installations. Objectives: RED: Defend Bandar Abbas at all cost. Don't let the US forces destroy their primary objectives. BLUE: There are 6 targets for the first strike. All are equally important. 1) Bandar Abbas Intl - Destroy the runways with at least three craters, on each. 2) Havadarya - Destroy the runway with at least three craters. 3) Bandar Abbas Intl - Destroy the air base command building. 4) Bandar Abbas, City* - Destroy the small building, believed to be the entrance to a command and control bunker. 5) Bandar Abbas, City* - Destroy the communication node in the city. A significant amount of military communications in the region are routed via the comms node. 6) Naval storage facilities* - Destroy the buildings believed to house munitions for the Iranian Navy. * The three objectives (4-6) are located in close proximity to civilians. Make sure to not harm the innocent, as it will affect the scoring. Each team will receive a reduced version of the mission file to check assets and targets. The full mission will only be available on the event. Skin suggestions Most airframes have appropriate default skins for the battle, but I highly recommend these tomcat skins for IRIAF. 2. PERSIAN GULF 1992-2 28 vs 20 PVP Event Saturday August 28th, 1930z Persian Gulf 1992-2 is a 28 vs 20 PVP event. The event takes inspiration from first day of Desert Storm conflict in the early 90's, where Iraqi MiGs faced an overwhelming force of a coalition led by the US. The objective for each side is very different; Iran will try to defend its home land from the invaders while the American forces goes after vital targets in Iran. The mission is set up to be asymmetrical to simulate the non-balanced nature of a real conflict. To balance the odds, Iran fields an impressive integrated air defense in addition to the low tech fighters of the early 90's. The event follows the PG 1992-1 and will be largely the same, but with slight changes to the balance, to even the odds compared to the last one. The coalitions will be BLUE: 6 x F-15C, 10 x F-16C, 12 x F/A-18C RED: 4 x MiG-29A, 4 x F-14A, 10 x MiG-21bis, 2 x F-5E The aircraft composition isn't 100% true to RL inventories in 1992, but is good enough. Red's task is to defend the Bandar region using its IADS and fighter-interceptors. Blue is to strike both strategic and tactical targets to make way for further operations in the war. Can the superior US fighters overcome the defenses at Bandar to claim victory?? Schedule: The event will be flown on Saturday August 28th at 1930z Prizes: None (as of now) Stream: TBD Sign-up: The event is open for everyone. Sign up for yourself or for your squadron, either way works. You must include the names of the pilots (and RIOs) and of what type of aircraft to fly*. Slots will be assigned on a first-come first-server basis. *Hornet pilots, please specify if you can fly from the Super Carrier or not. 7. @E-TF Cookie Great event! Thanks for putting it together and hosting it. Had a lot of fun.
  8. There's no inherent advantage in being outside the bubble. It just means one less pilot contributing to the bubble engagement. If a team decides it wants to be outnumbered in the bubble, that's on them. The team with the numbers advantage can just enjoy the ability to press harder against the outnumbered one. Everyone is free to explore the bubble script as it's in the missions available in the first posts on the ED thread. This is the logic of the script as written in the lua: Bubble script logic description: -When plane enters the inner zone, a message is sent to the group to inform them entering the zone. -When plane exits the inner zone the group will get warning about exiting battle area. -When plane exits the outer zone, it is counted as being out of the battle area and a message is sent to the group. -When plane re-enters the outer zone a warning is given about re-entering the battle area. -When plane re-enters the inner zone it's blown up. -When plane (inside the zone) speed reach below 5 m/s and altitude above ground less than 7 m, it will be exploded. - When plane crashes the slot is reset so that it can enter the battle area again.
  9. Schedule updated with results, reschedules and assigned streamers.

  11. Thanks everyone for participating. I had a really great time. We'll most likely do more of these with some adjustments to balance the sides and reduce the server load. 12. 1 more F-16 slot is available!
  13. Sorry to hear that. Thanks for letting me know.
  14. We had some cancellations so we now have the following slots available: 2 x F-16 (blue) 2 x GCI (blue) 1 x F-5E (red)
  15. Both teams have been given access to a limited version of the mission to familiarize with the setup. Aircraft, callsigns, frequencies, tankers, Awacs etc are all as they will be on game day. The missions are available on the discord listed in the initial post. Ask for a role request (blue or red) to get access.
  16. Wow, what an impressive sign up. Great roster! Looking forward to the 19th! Right now, the only remaining slots are 2 Blue GCI and 3 Red F-5s. From my experience hosting events, if you're 1st or 2nd reserves, there's a good chance you get to fly as there's usually a few drop offs on game day...
  17. I was under the impression they fixed them for the F-15, but in that case yes, you may pick 7F, 7M or 7MH.

  20. We're finally done with the schedule for the initial part of the tournament. Due to the incredible amount of teams signing up, we were a bit unprepared to fit everything with a proper format, within 2 months. We opted to go for a short group stage and then a elimination stage for all group winners. (Single elimination would have eliminated half the teams after only one match, and double elimination would be too many matches). This format guarantees each team two matches and then a few advance to quarter finals (two teams will fight an extra round to claim the 8th QF slot). Maps and groups have been selected at random for most part, except for some teams that needed earlier scheduling. Something still to do for us: *We're currently working out the streamer schedule and will get back to that. Teams are able to reschedule all of their matches at will and can be coordinated with the assigned streamer (up to the involved teams to do so). We cannot guarantee that all matches will be streamed, but we'll try our best to accommodate it. *Elimination schedule is mostly done and will follow soon. It's gonna be three weekends in August. We can provide 2-4 servers on the match times but teams are free to fly the matches on their own servers as well.
  21. I've just uploaded the 4 missions that will be used for the tournament. I wanted to add a Syria mission as well, but only so many teams could use it and the random matches drawn wouldn't allow it to be used enough to warrant it. The missions are as follows: Anapa vs Gudauta (Cauc) Kobuleti vs Vaziani (Cauc) Qeshm vs Al Ain (PG) Kerman vs Bandar (PG) They are available in this post: https://forums.eagle.ru/topic/266077-tact-21-1-tactical-air-combat-tournament/?do=findComment&comment=4603072 We've tested them for issues and have resolved what we found, but there's no guarantees that it's 100% so please report any issues/bugs/strangeness to me so I can update them.
  22. Sign up Closed! Will get back with exact format in a few days.
  23. In order to give us a bit more planning room, we will shorten the signup period. The signup for TACT 21-1 will close on April 6th.
