Ha - I was just thinking of trying that while on my way into work today. That goes on position 6 right? The LLTV pod?

No TrackIR no HOTAS - don't have the additional 300 bucks at the moment...maybe later this year...so... I have to make due. Each flight gets a little bit better. Last night's flights with an AI wingman helped to keep me airborne much longer. Unfortunately the AI is going after IR SAMs so I feel like a bit of a gimp. I really need to slow down though. Spotting and creating the attack ingress run is going to be a major training point for me.

Yea - the Vikhr's work just fine now. I can hit a target in a pass...I've tried for two, but the camera and my flying are just too jerky to pull it off. I buffet on air quite a bit, and for me to pitch 10 degrees is pretty normal.

Yea - I'm having a heck of a time spotting things from a distance using the optics. I'm thinking I need to rely more on PATIENCE PATIENCE PATIENCE!!! There's nothing that says I can't keep doing ovals until I see something. I need to reconfigure my set up as well. Currently my zoom keys absolutely suck. There's no easy zoom - it just goes straight to face against glass, and then zoom out is like looking out of a fish eye lens... It's going to take me a good couple months to get this stuff down. For now I use AI wing man to spot the SAMs, but then after that trying to find a target is still a huge problem. I don't have TrackIR and I don't have the cash for that nor a HOTAS. The PS3 controller I'm using right now is okay and does a fair enough job. To me it's about my tactics, what I'm choosing as weapons and how I fly in the zone. I found a few tanks on a hill, flew past them, turned around and then forgot which hill they were on. Artillery is pretty easy to spot though - just look for the muzzle flash.

Ok - so far the Vikhr's work now. Yes - having the laser active did not allow for the launch. Now I need to work on my patience and not get trigger happy. I made a tank kill in a mission but got wacked by a linebacker going in for a second kill. I should have turned way from the kill box while continuing to drop flare so I could line up for another kill.

Ok - good to know - I will test this. I finally ran a quick mission through and got my Vikhr to work and spotted the enemy. Was shot down by linebacker in the end. But I got a tank! ha! I was thinking about turning off AAA defenses for Blue force, but I'm going to leave it on. From the reading I've done I've noticed that most of the time going against IR SAM is really a bummer. I'm thinking about at least adding an AI wingman to my flights.

Yea - that's the IR Jammer I'm talking about the Pod Jammers... The IR Jammer lights up just fine.

Yuppers, but nothing on the right side of the cockpit ever lit up. It could have been a lighting thing. I know that when I first learned to cold start the plane I couldn't tell if the engine lights were on or off...so that might be part of the issue. I also read somewhere that you must have both on the plane in order for it to work as well.

Ok - I've turned it on before but never saw anything light up. I'm using the free version of DCSW so I'm using that Su-25T. I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not. I know my IR Jammer light is on my left hand side just above my weapon release option panel.

Also - Is it even worth it to use the IR Jammer in the tail? I've had it on, and still got plinked hard in the face lol.

Ahh lol - Ok - I'll run up a quick night mission and turn it on. Quick questions for follow up: 1. Do you need to continuously turn it on or does it simply pulse until you turn it off?

Yea - I worked with Team Super Hornet for a hot minute back in the day - That was good fun...

So it does work - I'm not sure what the Cy-25 is...i'll have to look that up...

No - this is all good stuff - My wife has noticed a change for sure. She goes "wow - you really love your new computer". I asked her why she said that. Her response: "Your completely silent" :doh: It's the learning curve and the challenge that I love the best. :joystick: I'm gonna master this dang plane lol. I will try that though when I get home and see how it goes. As long as the LA is solid I should be within launch parameters for release - no?

The MPS-410 I think it is...do they work yet? I was watching a training video and I swear they said they don't. When I hit the jammer button (not IR Jammer) nothing lights up... Also with regards to RWR modes - when I switch modes shouldn't a dial turn or something? There doesn't seem to be a cockpit indicator that lights on / of or moves when I switch modes... Ha - lots of questions today -

WB - I know the feeling - I haven't cracked out on good flight sim since Jane's F18. Just got my new rig this past Saturday lol. Loving it :pilotfly:

Ha - completely classic game - Want to fly a B-52 go right ahead... Want to fly A-6 during Nam - go right ahead... F-15s over Iraq...sure we have that too =) Super cool game...a bit too VGA for today's standards, but I bet if I loaded it up I'd still have fun playing it lol.

All I have to say is Jane's Fighters Anthology... To me this is where this platform is going and I love that idea.

Also - in all the videos I've watched they lase the target first, but I will try like you say and simply lock the target in the TV and attempt the pickle - LA is usually more solid than flashing.

Kon that just might be it - I always have the laser on... I will try that tonight when I get home. I've decided to turn off all air defenses in the quick missions so I can sort out all the ground attack stuff. I've been taking the game on in very large chunks. I've made progress, now I think it's time to ease back and get a routine started so that there's less thought involved and more fluid action. Post the trak file?

:book: Yea - I just watched the ED training video on Youtube, and I do exactly what that pilot does and the weapon doesn't fire...the answers out there somewhere lol :pilotfly:
