  1. Yea - it's something that I definitely have to figure out for myself. I can leave the Heading Hold on, but then if I need to make a bunch of changes I'm constantly trimming (i.e. snaking through a valley or something). I'd rather have the ability to make those corrections, then in straight line flying have the Heading Hold back on so that I'm not constantly making small inputs to stay on course.
  2. I typically fly with Heading hold toggled. I find that if I have it on then it's really hard to steer to a new direction. However, if I have the direction i want I turn the Heading Hold back on.
  3. I'm a bit confused with regards to flight director and Autopilot Selections. Currently I will typically only use Roll and Pitch stabilization with the Autopilot. I just recently read that the Flight Director allows more pilot input? Do you still leave your desired AP selections on as well as the Flight Director? I'm under the impression that the flight director cancels out the Autopilot modes that are currently active.
  4. I would like to know this as well - it also appears that you cannot use mouse as a view control either.
  5. A truly dizzying intellect indeed...:joystick:
  6. Right - will be practicing both. Think I might just set up a small test range and what not.
  7. My original post did not clarify the fact that it was Su-25T that I'm using. Right now if I use dumb bombs it defaults to CCRP and not CCIP. Anyone know how to go into CCIP mode. I looked in the options for controls, but didn't see anything that looked like it might be for changing bomb modes.
  8. Ahh - yea sorry... I'm using the Su-25T, not A-10.
  9. So when I select dumb bombs it defaults to CCRP. Is there a way to get into CCIP? I heard this was fixed with latest patch, but can't seem to find the right control label in the options set up screen.
  10. That's what i was thinking too, but would open up a slew of possibilities if there was at least one aircraft in the sim that a framework could be built off of. cheers ~
  11. AN/APG-73[edit] The APG-73 is a late 1980s "upgrade of the APG-65 that provides higher throughputs, greater memory capacity, improved reliability, and easier maintenance".[1] To reduce production costs, many of the upgraded radar's modules are common with the APG-70 (F-15) radar; its software engineers chose the JOVIAL programming language so that they could borrow and adapt existing software written for the APG-70. When fitted with a motion-sensing subsystem and stretch waveform generator and special test equipment, the APG-73 can generate high resolution ground maps and make use of 'advanced' image correlation algorithms to enhance weapon designation accuracy. Since 1992 the APG-73 has been operational in U.S. Navy and Marine Corps F/A-18C and D aircraft; early models of the U.S. Navy F/A-18E/F Super Hornet; and in the air forces of Finland, Switzerland, Malaysia, Canada, and Australia. A total of 932 APG-73 systems were delivered, with the final delivery in 2006.[2] ***as taken from the wiki***
  12. Will the F18 have ground looking radar or just AtA?
  13. Will the F18 have ground looking radar?
  14. I'm assuming this does not apply to purchases made on Steam?
  15. I've noticed that most aircraft don't have this, and it doesn't look like anything in the future will have this as well. I'm wishing that sometime in the future this becomes something that gets implemented. I think it would open up a whole new branch for additional modules.
  16. anyone mention the jaguar? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SEPECAT_Jaguar
  17. i guess i'm good either way - i think what some folks forget in the DCS hardcore sim community is that their level of realism even watered down is still way above what normal folks could handle lol - i'd like to see the longbow get done - from what i understand DCS/FC3 doesn't have a forward looking ground Radar model at all in the game...i could be wrong though, but i've never heard of anyone using ground radar. if that's the case simply creating the model could open up new doors...
  18. All good stuff - I typically make my min altitude 3200+ as a rule of thumb as well. Spotting can be a bit difficult though at that altitude and no forward looking radar can be a pain, but if you're in an MP engagement someone else might be able to spot. Example: Ka-50's at a low altitude start plinking at targets = follow the smoke plumes lol.
  19. anyone know if they do the longbow if it will allow for 2 seats?

    This

yea - but that would be part of the fun lol
  21. You know - something that might be simple to help improve the missions is random chance of appearance?
  22. Has anyone seen this set up and/or can comment on it? http://www.thrustmaster.com/en_US/products/tflight-hotas-x Seems to be fairly reasonably priced...
  23. did you uninstall/reinstall? I know that's a pig of a process, but might just have a bad install...especially if all your other games work just fine.
