Sorry, I just haven´t noticed that comment. My apologies. And one last thing from my side about this topic: I think, no matter if I was hoping for another module, every new addition to DCS is a good one. We definitely need more products on this platform. We all know the combat flight-sim marked is in very bad condition. DCSW is all we have right now. So we really should support these small companies who are trying to enrich us with good products.

Common guys, everybody should be allowed to share his opinion here. It is absolutly no surprise that a outcome like this is a huge disappointment for lots of people who had hopes and whishes about the upcoming module. Also, the fact that LNS is not commenting this situation at all, could be viewed as disrespectful against the community, which showed so much patience about the announcement.

Wow, what a disappointing outcome for both sides. But I still got some hope that the steam announcement was a genious marketing trick to surprise us all in the end with a real announcement that nobody expected.

I have a gtx 980 now in my sys, but still frame drops down to 30-40fps from stable 60fps on very low altitude over vegas. Everything on max settings except medium traffic and flat shadows on. -

Right now I am checking all my aircraft mods and I am really happy that most of them are still working fine. But I found out something really weird. When the plane has more than 12 pylons dedicated in the lua file, some animations in the cockpit view are disabled, like the stick movement and the vertical turning of the artificial horizon. I know, not a very important issue, but I just like to figure out why this is happening.

Sorry guys, but my opinion is that the must have list of airplanes should be fulfilled first before working in exotic planes. And from a business point of view, I think this would make sense as well. Everybody would buy a F-16 or 15E module just because these evergreens are must haves no matter if someone prefers navy or air force ops. Also, I am wondering if the teasing of announcements like this really makes sense from a marketing point of view. As you can see in this thread, lots if people have different hopes which will end in disappointments no matter which plane it's gonna be in the end. If the new project just would have been announced, everybody would just accept it without these what if questions. But that is only my opinion.

I really hope it is not the viggen. It might be interesting flying this bird for couple of hours, but I would never spend 60 $ for a module like that. I can understand that it might be easier for developers to get a license for a plane like that, but honestly, aren't there so many other birds on the list people are really waiting for? F-15E, F-16, F-4E...?

It seem like I am fighting a bit on my own here, but I still want to inform you about the status. First thing is I made a little progress. I made a landing on the US carrier. But there is still soemthing from. Check the screenshot: What I did is, I changend in the nimitz.lua these parameters, which are the last sentences in the file: GT.attribute = {wsType_Navy,wsType_Ship,wsType_AirCarrier,Kuznecow, "Aircraft Carriers", "cord", "ski_jump", "RADAR_BAND1_FOR_ARM", }; GT.Categories = { {name = "AircraftCarrier"}, {name = "AircraftCarrier With Tramplin"}, {name = "Armed Ship"}, }; I copied the Kuznecow files and pasted them here. So the landing worked. but it seems that the script for the carrier Landing also influences the position of the plane. The Kuznecow has a lower height, thats why the plane sinks under the deck.

But the question is if it is possible to add the script from the russian carrier to the us carrier.

Yes, I have the same suspicion. Do you think there is a way to edit the script? I checked the carriers lua. but there is nothing about the landing except the position of the cables and the landing point. I found some videos in the net were people land with the f-18 mod, so it was possible back in the days. Strange move from dcs team to make it impossible for now.

I couldn´t manage it to land on the carrier so far, I think it has something to do with the script. Maybe there is noch such thing for the US carrier, which causes these problems. Anyways, If somebody is interrested in this mod, I made it ready to download here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/pxw17y64b9u0l42/VINSON.rar There are two different edm in the zip. One is with an empty deck the other one is filled up with some Hornets. If the night Textures are to bright for you, you should open the file:CVN-"77_CarrierNightLIGHTS_1" and reduce the brightness of the Alpha-channel. I am using Sweet fx, which makes the night very dark, thats why the lights might be a bit too bright for users without sweetFX Here are some more pix. There are no flyable default US Naval planes in the game, that´s right, but I created different mods. I managed to land them on the russian carrier with no problems. So my suspicion is that it has something to do with the US carrier. I also tried to land on the default Vinson. Same same. Even with the su-33!

I tried it with different ones. I also tried it with the su-33. In the end it was always the same result. the hook is not able to stop the plane. It gets pushed back in the air.

Hey there, I was working on the texture and lights model of a carier I found in the web some time ago. (I think it was originally Tamcatz model). When I finished my work, I tried to land on the carrier, many times with no succes. I am working with the 1.2.7. version, and I have a feeling that it is some kind of bug. The problem is: I come down on the deck with correct speed, correct position and angle. But then it feels like I am getting pushed into the air like a flummy. After that the hook isn´t lowerd anymore, so there was a reaction with the hook. When I am trying to land on the Russion carrier, everything is working fine. Anyone, who had the same problem and solved it? Maybe there is something in the lua file which needs to be corrected. Thanks for every help. By the way, this is how the carrier looks now:

That´s a shame. Is there something like a list for the used arguments for the su-25 Pit? I am looking for the argument for the cockpit illumination. Oh, after klicking myself almost to dead, I found it out by myself, it is 180 :)
