  1. Nice preview! :D It does a good job making the wait both shorter and *sigh* longer...
  2. Haha, there it was, thanks! Perhaps it's indexed after the Russian alphabet. (Not that it matters much of course)
  3. Norway is missing from the country selection.... Oh well, I guess "British Virgin Islands" is as good a description as any other....
  4. Shame on you! The Harrier is as British as Ceylon tea and Chicken Tikka!
  5. Hmmm..not sure about the case of Colt, but do you think Russia sells more MiG-29s becuase of Lock On? Or do you think ED sells more copies of Lock On because of the MiG-29...? Anyway, guess I have to retract my first statement....I should know better than to underestimate American lawyers. A good argument for a Royal Air Force Harrier addon. :D
  6. I seriously doubt aircraft manufacturers are getting into copyright issues...until I see someone credible confirm, it goes on the list of yet another silly forum-rumour. Many avid posters on SimHQ and Ubi seem to enjoy the idea that their $40 entertainment product is the centre of the world. I can see the issue that some companies don't like Maddox using their original documents to make money...but I saw someone suggest that Pratt&Whitney were angry because Maddox was modelling their performance.... I wonder how much Valve paid Colt? In the worst case...I don't mind a (virtual) civil war breaking out in the Crimea. :D
  7. Would you be happy if bought a hot CPU and Lock On didn't use all of it? Lock On uses 100% of my CPU and that's just the way I want it, it it used anything less I would be posting bug-threads.
  8.  Ask about this subject on any forum, even the 3D Barbie Horsebackriding forum, and it will end up like this.
  9. Hehehe, poor newbies! "Halp guys, how do I take off! I started a mission and there was just grass and a little guy there.." "Well, first you have to find some iron ore....."
  10. There was many threads about this before summer in the Lock On - Aviation forum at Ubi, many bad threads as well. The detail in the report you pasted pretty much sums it up. In addition to agreeing to a disadvantageous set-piece situation, the USAF underestimated the IAF tactics. The result says more about the quality of IAF than it does the lack of quality in the USAF. It does not say much about how an airwar between the IAF and the USAF would fare. There is probably much info at http://www.acig.org , in either the forums or the articles, but it can sometimes be hard to search. (you have to register for the forums)
  11. Re: Any news about a release date ? This is of course the second obvious answer to this question. :P
  12. IIRC, Matt Wagner mentioned this was something they had to settle with in one of the big 1.0.2 update threads. Don't think he mentioned exactly why, but I think it would be easier for him to explain than for Fairchild to explain to the USAF why bombs were falling off the plane even if the pilot had his thumb off the pickle button. Many good suggestions btw, the flexible refueling hose and copy/paste/clone features in ME are my favs.
  13. Ok, thanks for the reply. :)
  14. *cough*bump*cough*
  15. Nice list here: http://www.lockon.ru/index.php?end_pos=9&lang=en&scr=list&page=4#362
  16. Forgive me if I missed this in the fix/added list, but will there be a way of jettisoning a specific pylon in 1.1? For instance adding a "jettison currently selected weapon" key, or changing the current jettison to routine to mean that...depending on how it's done in reality of course. :) This is what brought it to mind: http://lockon.ru/index.php?end_pos=9&lang=en&scr=list&page=4 The KMGU-2 looked very good in the Su_25T_In_Action vid, I will make sure to put them to good use. :D Also much thanks for this: And this... And this... And this and this and that and those things and on and on...
  17. There's several ways to do it: - ED has written a downloader-app, think Valve's Steam (but don't think too mcu about it), which you use to log in to a secure server and can resume download at any point. - You get a login/password along with your receipt after purchase, download from any server normally. Some kind of authentication (send product key and hardware-ID, get auth key back) is preferred. - They lock Chizh in a room with a CD burner and a good supply of envelopes and stamps. :D
  18. ПРОТИВ! The game is balanced already...with skill and good tactics, each plane can defeat the other. It is important for gameplay that the tactics are different, otherwise the only difference when playing would be the cockpit textures. :) But I would be interested to hear about any timer instruments on the real MiG-29...perhaps someone could make a table? X= Range, Y= Net closure rate and the cells contains to-active flight times which you can use the clock to check. Too much work for too little use perhaps?
  19. I mean an upgrade like Flanker 2.51 -> Lock On 1.0. Not 1.0 -> 1.1 If add-ons are the best solution, both for progress (good for me) and business (good for ED), then that is fine, cause the best solutionis what I want. :) Oleg Maddox made the IL-2 engine last way longer than what was intended and I have confidence ED can do just as well, so it's not like I'm concerned or anything.
  20. There's more to a flight sim than just flyables. :) Having a full price retail product is nice for economy and as I understand there are many things that aren't possible (or is too much work) within the current package. Integrating a campaign system and other gameplay features is high on my list. Btw, the search at the Ubi forum is down, but I seem to recall Valery saying the Ka-50 would be a standalone sim. (I might be wrong though)
  21. I know, I just think it might be better if ED makes it a standalone sim while expanding on the Lock On technology.
  22. On second thought...I think ED might do the right thing by stopping Lock On development after 1.1 (and perhaps a subsequent patch if there's any bugs :) ). Put maximum effort in making a new product that makes them money. Standalone Ka-50 sim? I'd like to see the sims move forward in technology, not just in content like new flyables etc. Selling expansion packs to Lock On can be a good way to help fund a longer project of course...but developing these expansions take resources away from the next big thing.
  23. Now THAT is a wishlist Wags. Btw, nice to see you on Lock On forums again, hope the new projects are treating you nicely. :D
  24. Although I'm sure there will be many different opinions, I would be most pleased by seeing the Su-27/33 get the same depth of modelling as the Su-25T - flight, engine, subsystem, damage and ground collision. That being said, I think Lock On desperately needs a campaign engine and I have been whining about that for more than a year. :P  And your English is perfect. :)
  25. Agree, I love the idea that every single ruble I pay goes straight to ED. It would be interesting to see any prediction if the increased revenue matches the lost impulse sales coming from a nice box on a shelf....but I sure hope ED makes enough from 1.1 to stay in business and keep feeding me their aerial delights. :D
