  1. In the meantime flown about 100 hours (training and mission flying) as indicated at STEAM. Earned lots of medalls and had my first promotion :smartass: Most of the time until now with the A-10C: all goes pretty well: starting, flying, navigating, landing, combatting a.s.o.; only my wingman doesn't allways do what I'am expecting him to do ................: must still find some things out here!! Like more of you (probably), the first time I do now every morning is seeing if there is news on the "ED front" because news at ED is really news: is there some news about EDGE, the F15C, F18, Hawk, MIG, F86 etc. Of the other flightsim (fsx) I have about everything there is and news is not that much news for me anymore (ok: a little bit now offcourse with LM) but, what I said: news of ED is something different!! Last weekend had some nice demonstrations at "Lowland Tiger Meets": thanks Wasserfall, Beerhunter, Joe_Curr and Liger_Zero for the demonstrations of night flying with "air refuelling" with "carrier recovery" and "formation flying": very nice to see that all  @ Wasserfall: the Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog is indeed a "must have" for me for the future. @ Beerhunter: yes, first time flying with a "force joystick" and the Track IR needs to get accustomed to. Again: thanks guy's!!
  2. I'am new in DCS, so I had never seen these video's: they are beautifull. Your words are promising!! Kuky
  3. If these video's are indeed based on the coming EDGE, ......................... then we have here the New Flightsim  If that could be true  (or to good to be true????)
  4. Well: I meant that my wife didn't plan to come with me to the meeting; with my neighbour perhaps?: you never know: life has often surprises
  5. I certainly will come; hope my neighbour comes with me; my wife .............. ehh: I doubt it :no_sad: About DCS: I get a little, little bit familiar with her (A-10C): what I said: it's really fantastic.
  6. Thanks both Diemos and Rud: It was indeed the button in options: "preselect": if that is in "game mode" the simulation will be presented (of course) in "game mode" and the "training" joystick buttons are not working anymore; selecting "simulation mode" everything is fine now!!
  7. Hello all, Done some training and now trying to do some simple missions. In these training I have made some suitable controls on my Saitek X-52 Now the same controls are still visible in "missions" (in "adjust controls": pushing the specific buttons on the stick / throttle is still working and visible) but they are not working in the mission simulation anymore. With "F2" outside view and F3 flyby, I also see the left and right MFCD "in the air". Any idea's?
  8. 1): I pushed it short sometimes (I think) 2): I remember that I saw on occasion the message "FLAPS": so that is quite an explanation (not too clever of me: it didn't come up to me that I had the flaps out) Last flight: pushed it longer, didn't see the message "Flaps": everything was fine: all 4 went like "Dutch skaters"!! Didn't realize that the flaps were out: I see now that at the start the flaps are allready 1 stage out by default: how can you win the war with this guy? ....................... . Thanks ZaltysZ: I think, that you have tackled the reasons of the failure to release the mav's.
  9. I pay carefull attention now that the maverick is selected in the DSMS. Nevertheless, releasing the maverick is still not "fail safe": again: - the object is locked: I see the crosshair shivering (and closed), - I push the "weapon release" button .................. but I cannot be sure, that it is released: today: - try to release: no joy", trying to release again, again, and then at a minimum tolerated range: there she goes, - second turn: she went about immediately. Still not sure what I'am doing different ............
  10. Maybe in the future we may also meet my neighbour on this forum: he is a real pilot (not so long agoo retired); flew with numerous aircraft: latest as a 767 captain. But the most he is interested in militairy aircraft: was until 1974 a F104 flyer / instructor. For me he is allready a "flightsim information well" Showed him this afternoon the "DCS World" and it got his approval  Until now he is still an "Allied Force" flyer (quite interesting that a person of the real flying world is also interested in the flightsimulation) but I hope that the DCS demonstration will turn him into DCS. With for me the advantage that I can surge further flying information (in that case: also DCS) out of him .....
  11. Thanks Hans: well: I 1:1 followed the trainers instructions: so that must be AGM, I asume ...... But, so things go: just after my post, I tried the 11* time and now the maverick was anxious to leave the A-10!! What did I now what I didn't do before? ....... don't know: the only thing was, that I opened now (just before firing) the weapons page at the TAD to be sure that the maverick was choosen ....... :hmm: (but I assume, that following the trainers instructions, this maverick had allready been choosen.....?) Resuming: I have further to learn and study and exercise (and for sure quite a lot)
  12. Tried the Maverick training mission about 10 times, but the Maverick don't want to leave the A-10C: Followed the trainers instructions to the point (at least, so I think): at the target waypoint (3: "Range"): - I'am within the tolerated maverick range, - the object is locked: I see the crosshair shivering (and closed), - I push the "weapon release" button: the trainer says: "rifle", .................... but nothing happens. Do you have any suggestions what I did wrong / what I neglected to do?
  13. "NO EXCUSE NOW"
  14. Seeing Youtube instruction movies and training all the time (with A-10C) ..................
  15. But should that also be a fact for the "fighter / militairy" submarket? What I said: when I see the total amount of actual DCS forum users ....... And I wonder what the sense is of developing a improved / advanced fighter with all the "features" for FSX. I.m.o. developers of hardcore fighters (VRS, Iris and others) might better set the target to DCS ............. ? (but probably, I am wrong: they must know better then I do).
  16. I'am new in DCS: it's very good !! I have the X-52Pro and am doubting about a new stick: - Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog or - Saitek X-55 The Thrustmaster costs here about Eur 140.-- more (this is a lot but it will not be the end of me): What's your advice?
  17. I'am new in DCS but when I see the amount of actual forum users, there must be a pretty large total amount of DCS users. When you realize how many aircraft there are allready developed for FSX and how few for DCS: you should say, that the "selling potention" of a new DCS aircraft is possible higher then of a new FSX aircraft. Why, also, the developers still stay (pretty much) at FSX?
  18. @ Arthur: thanks for the bookmarks; I have a Saitek X52 Pro; no TrackIR yet ....: I understand that DCS is TrackIR compatible (also with Windows7?)? @ Robert "Psyrixx": do you make the instructions for training Robert?: they are very good: I fear that, without them, I surely may not be able to work me into the systems @ Bart: "Soon you'll be wondering where all your spare time has gone!!!": quite correct: now I allready "fear" the summertime; less time to "DCS" because of other hobby's outside :wassat: By the way: searching in the forums, I see that the there are in the pipeline: - "Su-33" : alone the carrier operations will allready be very "interesting"!! - "Su-24M" also flyable (or only AI)?
  19. Thanks all of you for your nice welcome! Training all the time: now with the A-10C and the P-51D. I had LOCK-ON in the past: about 12 years agoo ....... ?: but all (A-10 weapon handling) has to be learned again. Black Shark (2) has to wait a bit: cannot do everything in the same time. Once, I had the "HIND" and the "LONGBOW": more than 15 years agoo ...............?? So, she is also a bit of "old times are coming back again". @ Arthur: about the SU-25: she is not "clickable" (as far as I know)? @ Weststr: I also have a lot of jets in FSX: F14, F15, F16, A7 (Iris, Milviz, Aerosoft, Razbam) but you can only fly with these and not shoot : also in DCS the aircraft is far more in details simulated ( I hope however that these jets will also be modelled for DCS in the future). @ Humbug: DCS World is a bargain: I will not specify how much money I have spent at FSX (add-ons): I even do not want to know it myself :noexpression:
  20. That's right Emmer: living in the "Achterhoek".
  21. Hello all, I'am new in DCS World and just have bought A-10C, P-51D and the Black Shark2; since a day experimenting with these: start up procedures, basic flights, basic weapons handling etc. and I must say: DCS World is in one word: fantastic!! Until now, I am a FSX flyer and I have combat flyed in the long distant history (about beginning with F16 combat pilot of DI). I like DCS World because of: - "real" simulation of the aircraft, - offcourse the possibility to "play" wargames, - installing with STEAM: no problems with compability, updates, drivers etc. (as far as I know), - possibility to do more with the militairy aircraft as what is possible in FSX, - super graphics and very detailed aircraft presentation, - very fast (my system is 4,5 years with an (updated) AMD 6990), - 64 bit: build for the future. I surely hope, that also third party developers will adopt DCS World: maybe, you can even make a (partly) civilian flightsim out of it. Wonder, why LM did not use DCS World for developing ............. Best Regards, Willem
