Had the Sabre once a hook?
-
Very nice!!!! Also clear to see, that ED and 3th party developers are making much more progress now: DCS will be a leading flightsim platform
-
Will certainly buy the F104  Remember some time agoo flying the F104 (FS9 /CaptainSim): at landing flaps down and 88% power (if I'm right....): was not that easy alltogether: very much fun!! :)
-
You have a point with that, but .................. maybe ED is too busy and certainly LN build quality!
-
If LN are building naval aircraft.................. an appropriate carrier should not be that bad at all!!
-
Have flown a lot of selfmade missions with different profiles: my experience: - yes, you get medals and promotions by bombing and shooting ennemies, - you get more medals and promotions by good landing and few bombing / shooting as the way around.
-
Hmmm ................. must confess: for the time being (until mastered the take offs and landings completely) enabled "autorudder" ............ Well .......................................... in the meantime, managing with 25% assistance: still improving :) edit2: 17-02-15: now managing with 5% assistance: not that bad hè..... what do I do different at take off: - smoother set up of the pedals - trim nose forward 100% (completely) - loose the brakes at 2.500rpm and after that gradually to 3.000rpm - pretty fast the stick gradually from back to neutral (at 100 km/h, the stick is allready in neutral) - a very steady eye at the differential needle and reacting to keep it in the centre Landing goes also (mostly) well: there, I keep a very steady eye at the sinking instrument and keep it at just under zero (minus 2) Only very occasional (1 at 50) I have a minor good landing: yesterday a tip of the wing touched the concrete with soms damage: ahhhhhrrrrgggg!!
-
Certainly YES and my neighbour too, because he once flew the real one :)
-
What I did at low level (about 6.000 feet) was that, after the reticle left 12.00 o'clock anticlockwise, I instantly pushed the release button en stayed pushing until about 6.00 o'clock (same as at 10.000 feet): with that procedure, the bombs were not released. Now (at 6.000 feet), I only push the release button only after the message appears in the HUD: "man rel" and the bombs are released with good results  Also tried at 5.000 feet and, what you said Silentgun,
-
Done several flights more and the conclusion is that I made indeed too few "movements" (what you suggested allright McBlemmen) after the bombs got "white": maybe, when you leave the bombs too long "white", it will get more difficult to get them "green" again. Now, I make small movements direct after seeing them get "white" so that they get "green" again and everything works fine :)
-
Is there for the GBU 38 (and also for the other GPS bombs) a minimum drop level?: I have the following experience: - at 10.000 feet, the GBU 38 bombs drops ok, - at 6.000 (also at 8.000) feet, the bombs don't drop. When this is a fact: is this conform the reality: should mean that you cannot fly (and drop bombs) at a low cloud ceiling level?
-
Pretty odd: made some other similar flights (not doing else as before) and now............................ all 38's are steady "green"; only sometimes "white", but then a simple maneuvering is anough to make them green again (same for the 103's and 105's) .......... ?????  Another question is the minimum tolerated level for bombing with these bombs: better make a separate topic (to stay on-topic) :)
-
Thanks McBlemmen, Did certainly not flying straight lines all the time: in this mission is a 180 grad turn; after the target again some 180 grad turns: no success; should there be need fore some more maneuvering? Did some more tries: - with align in flight: also no success, - touched after some target by passes with the weapons "white" some buttons of the CDU Align: also the "update" and at one moment, they were "green": must do some "investigation" and more tries with this.
-
Aii... don't get it right until now with the GBU 38: - starting from ramp, - waiting until aligned: 4.0 0.8 - flying the (selfmade mission), - masterarm on, TGP on, - GBU 38 is aligned rdy (but white), - nearing the target, she is (sometimes) a short while green but after that soon white again and not rdy to go, - same effect with the 103, 105 Wondering what I'm still doing wrong????? :(: any suggestions?
-
DCS2 is great; marvellous video; fantastic flying of Matt, for sure; nice music also!! edit: but: how could Matt manage that: looking back while flying with about topspeed under those high voltages wires?????????
-
I would suggest the A10C: not too difficult to fly and pretty good tutorials for weapon delivery. Be prepared however to invest some time: not so much for flying but for the handling of the weapon systems; but, what I understood: when you master her, you can handle the real bird also (well, so to say.......:smilewink:). When you have some money left: the Thrustmaster Warthog Hotas is esspecially made for her :) edit: on my system of about 5 years the A10C runs at 20 fps with medium to high settings. edit 2: Oh, forgot to mention: 20 fps on 30" monitor with 2560*1600: quite not bad at all

You know when it's time to take a break from DCS A10-C when..
wavn replied to HAVOC131's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Not that bad...... when you are in that room and breakfast / dinner a.s.o is served in time! -
Poll for Civil Modules you would buy for DCS World
wavn replied to Anatoli-Kagari9's topic in DCS Wishlist
+1! At the moment DCS is i.m.o. a niche market (combat simflying) in a niche market (simflying). We will all benefit if ED let DCS grow to the flightsim (simflying) market: DCS has to earn money, I assume, and the bigger the market, the more money comes in and the more they can develop: so that we can take profit in the flightcombat genre. But, offcourse, ED knows all these facts (and the market) far more better then I do! -
+1: I have the same experience. Edit: my fault: I have a new Thrustmaster Hotas and I switsched ATC with the Mc switch but without good looking if it was AM!! Everything works ok!!

Happy New Year from Leatherneck Simulations!
wavn replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Happy new year LN; very curious to your new project: Phantom maybe? All good wishes to you! -
Maybe, you can compare, making the right necessary adjustments while flying the real plane a bit with making the necessary adjustments while bicycling: - when you master it, you are even unaware that you are making all the time small adjustments and in the same time, you are doing very well and bicycling becomes a second nature that keeps with you all your life; - when you don't master it, you don't understand how people manage to ride the bicycle; for older people, it can even be impossible to learn bicycling. Also: learning bicycling with the computer and making the necessary adjustments can also be a little bit tricky?? With that in mind, it is a bit easyer to understand how the real pilots did master the aircraft (however: offcourse, I admire them very much!!!).
-
Managing "take off" now pretty well ................. with the "take off assistent"!; Landing also pretty well; Also "pretty" and certainly not "quite": so further practising is needed very much!!
-
Thanks Crumpp for your "thumps up"; nevertheless, when also imagening worse weather circumstances.......... A (pretty long) time agoo, flying the IL2 (German) aircraft, I was able to do a better job at starting: I used differential braking a lot (if my memory is not too bad).
-
Started yesterday and need some more training!: first (about) 10 take offs were a mess: only after reading this topic, I managed to make a few (much less then perfect) take offs. I really wonder how these new German pilots did this when no errors were allowed??????: must read some books about this item!

Yes Henri: someone like me (with about 1 month DCS experience) must certainly not let pass by the chance to learn a bit of someone with 10 years DCS experience  Indeed there were more BMS users but ....................................... a lot of them are waiting for a "DCS fast mover" with AFM and a clickable cockpit like the F15 / F18 or even better for them (because of their hardware built cockpits) a F16. Well, who knows what DCS (and third party developers) are brewing just now........................ :chef:
