1. .. Aaaargh..! It's a tease..! LoL LMAO..! The drawings are gorgeous..! When will you post the rest of them mate..? :music_whistling:
2. Is it just me and my comouter..? Thank you all for the kind words.. ! I have said it before, but it can't be said to many times.. It's feedback like this that keeps me motivated to finish the Pit.. I know that is the same as admitting we post the pics so you can tell us how brilliant we all are..! But what the heck..! Let's be honest about it.. :megalol: The files seem to be corrupted in some way..! It only shows me part of the drawing..? Or is it just me..?
3. And the first Panel is coming along.. I had a really hard time trying to figure out how to solve the fact that the rotary switch moves by itself in Lockon. It happens when you switch from GunPods in depression angle mode, to Nav mode.. The only way I found was to have LEDs telling me where the Rotary switch indicator is active, and program SIOC to emulate it (or I will figure out this in the near future..) The 1mm Alu backplate that serves as the foundation for the LEDs. First the Alu plate (now painted). Then the 5mm plate that channels the light from LEDs to only light up the relevant writing on the Panel. Then the Print in regular paper. Then a 2mm plexi plate to keep everything in place and looking good. Got the Rotary encoders mounted and all the LEDs soldered in place. The 5mm plexi plate for the indicator LEDs showing how I hope it will work.. :music_whistling:
4. K-36 Build prosess Here some pics of the build so far..
5. K-36 Update Drawings nearing ready.. And building to..! Just a small update.. Drwaings first: Build pics coming up later today..
6. After carefull consideration.. And a second look.. It seems (from the document) that the Su-25A does NOT have an Autopilot. :music_whistling: However the NAV-Panel does open for some cool new ways to set the HSI (ref. "Go-Around mode" left or right plus "Enroute" and "Enroute + 180 degrees") All of which are just ways the Nav instrumets display the planned route, and maybe values that can be exported/imported? And the "Attitude hold" function seems to be an option as well? Any posibility of adding it to the 25A (just as the good old "A" key command)? Are these things that it would be possible to add to the Su-25A as a Mod..? Having little or none (at least no sucsessfull) experience with modding, I ask you "Mod-Masters" out there...?:helpsmilie:
7. Full western cockpit ..? Man that would be kick-ass to have..! Would making panels for my Su-25 pit sooo much easyer.. So, would you..? Pretty Please.?
8. ... OH MY GOD..! That is just beautifull..! Where can i get my hands on it.?
9. panel description.. Remind me to upload it to your folder on the server next time we're on TS mate.. !:joystick:
10. No Autopilot..? It's from a document i found on Check-Six I think..? It gives the description and function of just about every switch in the Su-25.. (even the right wall panel). I would post it, but with all the pics it's just to big a file.. PM me and I'll send it if you want it..
11. Happy Birthday mate.. Don't listen to those guys.. 30 is NOTHING..!
12. :helpsmilie: After having learned to really love the Su-25A a couple of questions come to mind.. I can live with the lower graphic model it has (mostly because it doesn't wreck my Fps when we taxi three of us or more). But I miss having the autopilot (AP) features of the Su-25T. Not the attack-mode AP obviously.. I'm not even sure the Su-25A has that posibility.:music_whistling: But it does have "route-follow", "attitude-hold", and "return-mode".. All of whitch would have made the model even cooler to fly.! And not to mention the "go around mode" that makes the HSI point at the locked waypoint either from the pre-planned angle, OR at a 180 degree offset..! How delightfull it would be to navigate in the "vanilla" with those small features.. So can you (or anyone) make it happen..!? Please..! Pretty Please..?!
13. My Pit. Using Wolfairs drwaing for the Su-27 pit a a template I came up with this idea that will be my Su-25 pit.. Thank you for the drawings man..
14. I've just seen a couple of pics of the project you guys are working on. But so far I have to say that it blew my mind away.. Really Impressive work on all levels..! And the joystick..? Is there some way I can get my hands arround one of them? I have started the drawings for a Su-25 stick handle that will replace my cougars F-16.. But If your allready making it....:music_whistling: I've dug up some wiring scematics for the Cougar if you want them.. Adding the right under here.. After seeing how my flying improved just by extending the cougar 18cm and placing it in front of me, and not on the side. I will need to make some sort of arrangement anyway.. But the next thing on my list is the Throttle.. To sum it up mate.. DAMN FINE WORK..!
15. Oh Yeah..! Now that makes my eyes water up mate.. I must have been fideling with the headrest for MONTHS... Just getting my hands on as many pics as possible and 3D Cad'ing it to make it seem like the real thing.. And at the same time trying to keep the weight and ease of building..! That is a load and clear I WILL.. It really doesn't look quite the thing without these unique features on it. The telescope boom containers, the padded things under the kneas and the air connectors on the left side will be added. As will most of the cryptic warning stickers here and there.. The cushions will be made from some fake leather of some sort. They will be sown with the same double pin-stripe pattern. But I need to make the rear cushion maybe 10cm thick along the spine (I think). Just to get my hands in a comfortable distance from the joystick. As far as seatbelts go, I probably will make them (have the pictures to make them from), but that will have to wayt till after the pit is up and running. LMAO.. There is more than one make if this seat..? I really didn't know..! My initial plan was to make the seat as fast as I could, and not really give it a lot of attention to being 100% scale.. I just wanted something to sit in that looked the part.. When I start on the rest of the Cockpit I'll be more attentative to details I guess..:pilotfly: BTW.. Something like this you mean..?
16. K-36D in Specnaz Su-27 Cockpit Just tinkered with the consept og placing the seat in Specnas excellent Su-27 Cockpit, just for fun.. And it came out pretty darned nice to..! Specnaz has the drawings for it.. So go PM him at the check Six forum..
17. They are on the way in the mail mate.. c",)
18. Ok.. Thanx a lot everyone for the motivating comments.. If you PM me with your e-mail address I'll send out the drawings as soon as they are done..
19. Damn man..! Is that a picture of the panel you're building..? IT IS BEAUTIFULL..!
20. The rest of the Pit.. The ejection handle WILL give LockOn the "Eject" command.. All interfacing is done through SIOC and IOCards from www.Opencockpits.com Testing an LED switching on/off. And with the help of my good friend Specnaz from France who seem to have full control when it comes to programing the IOCards I'll be alble to make the Pit work as it should. http://s146918821.onlinehome.fr/lotatc/index.php?Lo_iocp Instruments will be projectet on a seperate monitor with the software from Simmeters (really a great piece of software there..) www.simmeters.com Pic of the instrument software running on second computer while I fly.! And the whole thing should be able to run on two computers. Where the second one really doesn't have to be all that "hot". Since it will only run the IOCard and Simmeters software.. This is how far I have come in making the drawings for the rest.. Not even sure I'll go this way. And none of the supporting plates for monitors and so on has been thought out yet.! And also I want to build a throttle like the one in the Su-25, so I'll have to make a side wall of some sort..? Any suggestions welcome here.. The panels are made up from 2mm Aluminium plates. Picture taken after first coat of paint..
21. Thanx mates..! I'll keep this thread updated with pics as I go along.. Anyone have suggestions or improvements or comments on how to make it better, feel free to post it here..! Also I'm making a Zip file with the Dxf files later this week. Is it possible for me to post them here as well..? As far as I see it the more people build the seat the better..!
22. Outstanding AAR there.. It's always a joy to read good AAR's, and this one I actually read all the way through.. c",)
23. The finished product.. This is what I'm aiming for it to look like without any details added.. It's just a rendered version of the CAD drawings I made for the project.. The knobs, bells and whistles of the real thing, togehter with all the warning stickers and so on, will come at a later point in the pit build.. I have them drawn up, but I'm just dying to actually have something to SIT IN and play..!!
24. I'm just so proud if it. I had to show it to you all..! It's going to be the center of my PitBuild of the Su-25 (or maybe Su-25T, depending on ED's LUA Export file)..
