KA-50 collective and cyclic question
Triggerhappy69 replied to Deadman's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
.. just got an answer from Thrustmaster's support department.. They have the parts, and are sending the price ASAP.. They actually answered my mail after approx 1 hour.. How's that for service..? I even told them that this wasn't a warranty case.. Allthough I have a Cougar (and use it if I must.. LoL), and still they had no problem helping..!!! I whish all support departments were as good as that..! -
And Brewber... Thanx for being such a cool guy..! (just thought I'd take this oppurtunity to point it out for you):music_whistling:

..Oh sanding... Oh sanding.. If I never see a piece of sandpaper again in my life, it will be a good thing..! I have tried several different (and what I hoped would be easyer) ways to get the front of the seat looking "sort of" like the real thing.. And this is my progres since last post.. As you can see, it has been a looong sanding prosess..! But I fell that with a bit of filler and some more sanding to get the arches right, it will have something resembling the front of the k-27. If you look close you will notice a black line drawn on the top of the profiled corner. This is where I will remove the excess wood to give the impresion that it's just one thin plate rounding the corner off.. So onwards and forwards.. Time to bring out the trusty old hand router and fill the room with fine wood-dust.. AGAIN..! Also I have rebuildt the front pedestal.. more on that later..:smartass: Edited later: By The Way guys..! Anyone have a clue about what this "pocket" on the ejection seat actually is for..? I know I don't, but I would like to..! Ideas anyone..? -

I completely agree with Brewber here.. The comersialy sold padals are just to close together for it to be comfortable.. So why not just build a set of pedals yourself..? It took me one evening to build mine from "of the shelf" components, and they haven't let me down for.. I can't even remember how long anymore.. They may look like crap, but they work like a charm.. (I have since this pic was taken added hall effect sencor instead of a potmeter):joystick:

.. I totally respect that... I'll either wait patiently or see if I can find the info elsewhere.. Thanx for replying though..!

[WIP] Su-25T Blue and NVG Cockpit lights
Triggerhappy69 replied to Black_Hawk's topic in Screenshots and Videos
It' so cool to see someone actually bother to do some serious work on the Su-25T..! I know most find it a pain to fly and has the characteristics of "a brick"..! But in trained hands this bird is by far the most verastile and challenging to fly.. by far..! .... and I just love it..:music_whistling: I actually don't fly anything else... Keep up the excellent work man..! I know I'll be sleeping on the street the night before you release it just to be first... -

Cool man..! I'm up to my ears with Ka-50 Pit Parts and sawdust right now. So setting aside a day to build such a super "AB goes Russian" pit will be a welcome thrill.. Gimme.. gimme gimme..! LoL..:joystick: -
He He.. I sent them a e-mail over 1/2 a year ago, and have quietly and politely checked up on them after.. But no respons.. Not that I blame them..! I asked them for functions, panel sizes, rough cockpit measures or just anything that they could tell me that wasn't classified.. I guess it all must be..? LoL:megalol:
-
Good Idea mate..! I feel like an arse having to bother them. but I just might try it..!
-
That's 100% true, but it's helping me unfortunatelly.. I am building the HOCAS spessificly for the KA-50. And as such I need to know the function of all the buttons, 4-way's and sliders..:pilotfly: .. So.... Anyone else..?

ED.? Can you leak some export info..?
Triggerhappy69 replied to Triggerhappy69's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
.. I agree I totally agree with you both. And I am waiting for a touchLCD as we speek..! But will it be incorparated into my Pit.. Nope..! It will be used for flying the "Frog" and other sims.. But my hat of for Zorlac for making this super tool.. He ROCKS..! -

Fine looking setup..! ... Damn man..! That is a sweet looking setup you have there.. Is that a touch LCD running Touchbuddy I see..? -
.. sniff.. I have watched the vid at least 5 times today, and it just brings tears to my eyes every time,... Asepcially towards the end when he sais the fixed sight looks good to..! I know how much that means for a HUD to hear that every now and then... thanx.. But seriously.. I have fallen more in love with this sim.. And that's wierd.. 'Cause I have'nt even seen it yet.. Must what those "post order bride" guys feel while waiting for her to come to him..? (epilog: On a serious note I must say that whatever shape or how love comes, it is still both correct and a beutifull thing.. just so I don't step on some toes here..)

Panels.. Heu Grandsurf.. :smartass: To be honsest I haven't even started on them yet. But as soon as I come up with an idea for the 3-way switches to be buildt and have something to fit them om I'll be on it. But I guess I'll use the same method that I usen with the WSCP for the Su-25. As you can see it's made of a backplate of alumium, then some 8mm plexy with holes cut out for text backlighting (on this one I was going to have the active function reconised by what text got lit up by the LED behind it. Lot'sa SIOC programming that I never got around to do). Then the text laserprintet on paper, and laminated between another 1mm sheet of plexi. Lastly I sealed all egdes with some black paint to keep the light inside of it. See... the LED thing actually worked well.. But there was a whole bunch of them needed (as well as 2 rotary switches, 3 two-way switches and a variable potensiometer that would controll the angle of the SPPU) But this time I'll have the benefit of a in-house CnC Milling machine to get all the parts exact..:pilotfly: -

english LOSIOC.. YES THERE IS.. I spent some time last winter translating it from french to english myself. I'll see if I can't find it and either post it here, or PM to you.. It just a packed file that you unpack. And run the "Editeur LOSIOC v1.06.hta" program.. After that it's make so simple that anyone can auto-produce the .los file for SIOC and the export.lua file.. (because it does it for you..) Have fun..!:smilewink: Editor LOSIOC US v1.06.rar -
Just dawnd on me that I can probaly use a small LCD to project some of the instruments (ADI, HSI) that will be a real pain in the Scrotum area to build.. But to be able to finish my front pedestal I have a couple of questions needing answers: 1. Will we be able to export instruments to a seperate program like "Panel Maker"? Then I would only have to make the instruments on the right side driven by servos and steppers.. 2. Will the screen for the IT-23 video indicator of “Shkval” system, and the ABRIS panel be able to project to the same screen as other "export-software", or will they need a screen for each one seperately. I totally respect it if you can't reply to this. It would just make planning - designing and then finally building tranverse a lot smoother..:helpsmilie:

.. I have these pics to have as a starting point: For building my HOCAS.! The collective is pretty straight forwards when it comes to general shape. And The Cyclic is more of a challenge. But I have NO IDEA what the different buttons are for..? Can anyone help me translate what the say.?

..that warm fuzzy feeling... .. I so agree with you.. We have a section for it already on our forum at http://www.vvs504.co.uk ..! So speaking only for myself, I guess I just hadn't thought about it before now.? But that will change fellow Squad Comrades.. But I'll never leave the beloved Bomber Wing.. .. Thatnx Tek' Personally I think it looks like a piece of semi-square turd right now (laughing nervously while looking at the floor). But I thought if I started a thread from beginning, not only will I be forced to make this good, but maybe someone else will also start building..? And then I wouldn't feel quite so geeky..! .. FLAAASK..! How about starting an Apache cockpit on two seater config mate.. Damn that would just be the coolest.. Although I dread thinking of all the wiring and LUA/SIOC programming.. Brrrrr,... Ah....The nice kozy feeling of being surrounded by squadmates.. It's a thing of beauty.. Don't you think..? -
..Really looking forwards to see your site up and running mate..! C".)
