Panels.. Cool that you asked right now, since I am working on then as we speek..! The push buttons will be made out of a 20x20mm square tube of plastic cut to the appropriate hight. And I'll connect them to some cheap microswitches I bought from RS Components... Between the bottom plate and the button I'll just jam some foam or a spring (most likely a square piece of foam) to make them spring back into place as the switch has a spring inside it as well.. I'll make a better picture and post later today.. -

.. Thanx mate.. I finally found the angle.. I had been looking for some referance pictures to find the "workable" angles (not the true to life one, becuase then my Pit would have to be tilted forwards) for the right side window. And how hight and big it is compared to the rest of the cockpit.. Now I can get to work on drawing the right side wall/window, so I'll have something to hang the panel on..!:smilewink: Keep the info flowing guys.. I know i can never get enough of it. And it really helps.. And check out a fellow Pitbuilder from 3rd-Wing: http://www.3rd-wing.net/index.php?showtopic=5599&st=0 You gotta give respect to Razorback for the fine looking work he has done the panels.. I envy you for having those man..! They REALLY look good.. .... ooops..! Mental note to me: Stop wasting time going on and on, and get my ass on Hyperlobby..! -

Pitbuilding Update 28. october 2007 Well today I had to do some running in and out between the belt-sander and my Solidworks. I want the seat to have rounded corners like the real one (at least the front end of it, but also it has to have enough structural integrity to withstand the abuse it will get while playing.. This is what I had in mind so far in my computer when I started today: And this is the result of some rounding of corners: And the final result of some heavy sanding: And finally an exploded view of how simple I try to make it: The final result (I hope) will look more like this: And I WILL NOT give up untill it does.. :smartass: A fine looking seat is about 40% of a cool cockpit if you ask me. And so far I'm having so much fun designing and building I'll just keep on going. Also we all know that as far as time comes, I have plenty of it left before the sim is released. More later tonight.. Going on the A2G server for some nasty ground-pounding and scratch me some Hog's now..! :joystick: ... L8r M8s.. -

I just bought a new activation, but it doesn't seem to work? Transaction ID: 8F3ACFCE-35BA-F876-C64D-5B701D4C9491 Date: 24-10-2007 03:15:08 No fun with this Starforce bollocks software dear ED..! All I did was change my CPU for a better one. And it seems that everytime I do a major hardware change I have to reactivate LockOn FC..? I guess I am barking at the wrong tree, since This is a Starforce problem. But hey..! You have to admitt that it still really sucks when you sit there grinning in anticipation over the new improved LockOn FC preformance just around the corner, and then Starforce comes like a bucket of cold water..? Well.. Can you please help me? Ps. Damn good job on FC.. I can't wait for Blackshark.. c";)

How about the russian..? Anyone found manuals for the russian planes we fly and love so much? A manual for the Su-25, Su-25T, Su27 and last but NOT least the KA-50 would be just excellent..!:pilotfly:

Any chance that maybe ED would be nice enough to post the JPG export of the panels in the KA-50 for us Cockpit builders..? It would really help with figuring out the correct (or at least close to..) dimentions of the Pit..? .... if I say pretty pretty please with a cherry on the top..!?:music_whistling:

Is it possible to "extract" the cockpit of the Su-25 and make a dxf file of it..? I know the 3Dmodels in the game must have all the angles and proportions right. And I would very much like to use it as a reference for my Su-25 Tub.. So far I have been going crazy trying to guess the proportions and angles from pictures downloaded from the internet, and by blowing up small 3-View drawings from old Pdf files of the Su-25.. Please tell me that you can do this.. It would help immensly..!

ED..? How about re-modeling the Su-25
Triggerhappy69 replied to Triggerhappy69's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
.. music to my ears..! .. fream... dream.. dream... Just the thought of being able to fully control the navigation panel in my pit. And just maybe having it turn in to a REAL simulated cockpit would be a dream come true.. If we could only figure out how to work around the behaviour left turning knob of the Weapons System Control Panel to.. Man..! What a happy day that would be..! -
ED..? How about re-modeling the Su-25
Triggerhappy69 replied to Triggerhappy69's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
.. Is this impossible to do..? The "Return to last waypoint" mode, with a selection of weather you want to return on the left-hand or right-hand side would be just SWEET to have when attacking ground targets. I am by no means a programmer, but is it possible to maybe make an add-on based on the export/import of LUA..? Please anyone..? -
Panel confuses me..! ED please help..
Triggerhappy69 posted a topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
:helpsmilie:..! It's no secret that I'm attempting to build the Su-25 Cockpit. And I'm having a blast building and planning so far...! The LockOn comunity has really impressed me as far as sharing info, ideas and a helping hand across borders and language barriers. I have gotten to know guys from the US, Netherland, France, UK, Sweden and god knows how many other places. All sharing an interest in playing this incredible game, breaking ground in the Pitbuilding of russian planes (..sigh.. they ARE just beautifull..) and inventing and developing ideas to make the whole thing work.. I start of writing this because there are a lot of "unsung heroes" out there that lay down A LOT of hours of work, and display an above avarage abillity to solve seemingly inpossible problems. And then just give it away to whoever show enough interrest to ask for it..? People like Zorlac for making "touchbuddy", the guys in 3rd-Wing for developing software like LOSIOC, LOMFD and LOPSP..! Simmeters developers for both hard and software, and A HUD..!? WoW.! Who made LockOn Virtuell Panel has iluded me (EDIT BY SELF: is it "Mnemonic"?), but this goes out to you as wellAnd a whole bunch others that I admire immensly..! I take a bow in respect..! That being said I need some info on the Weapons panel in the Su-25/Su-25T. When in A2G mode and Gunpod Depression angle mode active a green light comes on on the left side of the panel. BUT if I switch ti NAV Mode to make another strafe run on the Target Area. the left rotary switch bounces back to it's vertical position..? I had initially planned to go arround this by having LED's light up the text behind the active mode. But I can't seem to manage to live with this "untrue" solution. My panel version 2.0 will have the switch returned by a servo or solenoid or it's like.. But I can't seem to find a pattern for how it moves when switching from A2G mode to A2A or Nav Modes. And when does it return to what position..?? So here are my two questions: 1. Can you tell me to where, and when, the rotary switch moves by it selves. I need to program SIOC to have my panel do the exact same..? 2. Does the real life panel also act like this? (Ps. If I can get only one answer... this would NOT be the question I would like to see you waste time on..) The panel in question I thought that since you guys wrote the code, you'de be the right one to ask..?-
