Hi all, thanks for the replies. You've all given me some things to try out, so I'll see if I can wrangle some time off from missus to have a go later tonight! Thanks again!

Hi all, I need some help please, I've tried looking through and searching forum, can't find what I need. I enjoy flying the SU-27 but I can't seem to fathom out the radar/BVR modes. I have set up a simple mission against F18 and F86, 30KM away already airborne. I take off, engage BVR mode, activate radar. I cycle radar range out to 150KM and back down again, use HI/MED/INT mode for detection but can't find anything! Even when I get into visual range, with radar on minimum range and at same altitude I still can't detect the enemy planes. When I look at YouTube videos other people seem to have a coloured cone area on the HDD (Head Down Display). I only get an arc that fills the display on 2KM MFD range. I have selected SARH missile. No bandits on HDD or HUD. Only way I can engage is with the infra-red HMS sight and using IR missiles. Any ideas? It feel like I'm missing something simple but can't find it.

I had a similar problem using X55. I found once airborne and gear up the SU-27 would 'balloon' nose up. I got round this by trimming nose down slightly before take off roll. Still allows take off at desired speed. After gear up, as speed increases trim accordingly (trim changes with airspeed). May work for you?

Thanks, this is just what I was looking for! Much appreciated! Worther_1

Hey Invisibull, Thanks for this great mission. I can't refuel to save my skin so when I found this mission I just had to try it. As I'm currently learning F-15C I changed all planes to this type and changed distance trigger to 100. After 15 mins of flying practice I got the two minute notification. I was well chuffed! It has taught me to fly out of the cockpit more, going to try and refuel now! Thanks again! Worther_1

I'm struggling with this also, so I've setup my own mission with my F15 already airborne 2nm back inline with tanker just so I can practice final approach quickly, this seems to be helping. Also manual from Falcon 4 (written by F-16 instructor) recommends 10knts over speed / closure per 1000 ft. So if you're 6000 ft behind tanker approach at 60 knts closure rate. Also recommends radar lock on tanker to detect closure rate (just don't get frustrated and launch!). Worther_1

Hi all, Just need some verification regarding snap views for F-15C please. From what I can discover it appears that the snap views (Rctrl + Num 0) then num 1-9 can be modified. As I understand it you disconnect Track ir then use key commands to move camera then save new position with Ralt + Num 0. Is this correct? Does it work for all preset snap views? Finally does it work with any plane (DCS or Flaming Cliffs)? Thanks in advance, I just need a little reassurance - don't want to mess up my views! Worther

Single Screen Resolution Help?
Worther_1 replied to Worther_1's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks for the info, that lines up with what I thought, I've tried the setting you recommended and that seems a good compromise until I can afford a larger monitor. Thanks again -
Hi all, I'm not very experienced with screen resolutions and I have an issue maybe someone could help with? I have an old 19" monitor 1440x900. If I set the resolution to this in DCS World the text is very small and not easily readable. I'm currently using 1024x768 and the txt is easier to read but to me the aspect ratio of the planes doesn't seem quite right. I know there are other resolutions available, can anyone recommend what I should try? I'm hoping to get a better full HD monitor in the future but cash is tight. I also use Track IR. Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this. Regards, Worther_1

[DCS World: BS2] Ricardo's Upgraded HD Cockpit Mods
Worther_1 replied to Devrim's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Hi Mike/All, I've checked the readme notes, see below: "Backup: ...DCS World/Mods/aircrafts/Ka-50/Cockpit/Resources/Model/Textures/Cockpit-Ka-50 Textures.zip Rename: ...DCS World/Mods/aircrafts/Ka-50/Liveries/Cockpit_Ka-50/english folder to anything (i.e. "_english" or "helloworld")" This is the re-naming part I referred to earlier. The file path/folder name is shown in attached PDF. Again, any help is appreciated. Worther_! File path.pdf -

[DCS World: BS2] Ricardo's Upgraded HD Cockpit Mods
Worther_1 replied to Devrim's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Sorry, that's just the way I wrote the post. All instructions for installation were followed correctly. The mod worked great from install up until today when new updated to DCS World was applied. Can you confirm DCS version your using and if this mod still works OK? Look like I'll have to revert to original version :-( -
[DCS World: BS2] Ricardo's Upgraded HD Cockpit Mods
Worther_1 replied to Devrim's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Ricardos HD Cockpit Hi all, I installed this mod (first mod ever installed) on the 25th Nov 2014. It worked great and I renamed relevant folder and made backup of "Cockpit-Ka-50 Textures" as instructed. It worked great and I loved it. Now however, I've just had Steam update DCS World (current version 1.2.12.34915) and the HD Black cockpit no longer appears. Please see screenshot hopefully attached (i'm new to this). The cockpit textures are all yellow, most of the dials/gauges are missing and there seems to be some kind of writing amongst the background. Does anyone have any advice? Do I need to uninstall? I'm running Win8.1, i5, with 8GB RAM, GTX660. Any help would be appreciated. Worther_1 -
KA-50 Black Shark 2 Training missions
Worther_1 replied to BigfootMSR's topic in Missions and Campaigns
Ka-50 interactive Tutorials Hi, I just wanted to say a huge thank-you for creating and sharing these interactive tutorials. They are real professional and I've learnt so much in the last hour compared to days on my own with the manual. All your hard work is very much appreciated. Worther_1 -
Hi Vyrtuoz, thanks for the reply to an earlier post, I've purchased the 'home' version now and I love this software. I use it for DCS and BMS and it's great! Thanks!

I have demo and want to purchase home version. I am able to record A10C flights with DCS World selected in recording pull down menu. Will Flaming Cliffs 3 aircraft (Mig29, Su27, etc) flights be recorded using this setting? Thanks

Tacview .acmi files not being exported
Worther_1 replied to ShuRugal's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Thanks for this info, I've recently installed Tacview (primarily for BMS) and then found out it worked with DCS. I didn't carry out any file changes/additions (standard install) and it worked fine once I found out where the files are stored, so thanks for posting! BTW I'm running Steam DCS World. Worther -

DCS through steam and non-steam version
Worther_1 replied to Kocyra's topic in Payment and Activation
Question about Steam & DCS...I installed DCS a while ago. I seem to remember that I downloaded original version from website, and sometime later Steam said it recognised the game and included in into my library of games. I have DLC but bought them through the DCS world program and not Steam. Does this sound correct or is muddled mind playing tricks on me?
