  1. I read in the latest PC Pilot magazine that Saitek are still working on WinX drivers and software...as this is a relatively new product I can't believe they've not sorted it yet... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I have to say I've not flown 'my' MiG21 since v1.5 (no time) but I've noticed (placebo or not) that all the planes I have flown seem a lot smoother and 'easier' at landing. Maybe it just better frame rates/updating that makes it feel more natural? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I'm not an expert but I do have the 'standard' DCS (1.2.7?) and also the Beta (1.5). I also have Tacview installed. My setup works fine. I updated Tacview to latest version and change log states DCS 1.5 compatible. Once Tacview updated I selected 'record DCS flights' or similar from drop down menu in the program and that's it! Hope this helps, Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Thanks for the info, I'll have to see if I can find some YouTube tutorials on setting it up. I've had a quick look at it, and it all seems rather foreign to me, but from your comments it would appear to be worth the time investment to sort out. Thanks again! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I have just begun flying the SU-25 after watching some of Bunyaps videos on YouTube. I have set up a couple of training missions using a target range, however, the last time out I ran out of fuel. I know this is bad flying not to keep an eye on fuel level but I'm pretty sure I don't get a 'Bingo' call. Do other people get 'Bingo' calls, does it need to be set somehow? Thanks, Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I also have X55 hotas, can I please ask how do you use the 'stick/mouse' controller on the throttle? I don't use the Saitek program I just input controls directly into DCS. Do you have to use the Saitek HUD software to enable this control? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Thanks for the info. In the end the testimonials on here convinced my 'better half' to let me order the MFG pedals for Christmas. After all I have been good all year! Good info though, I'm sure they'll be a good option for others. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Thanks for all the relies to my query, after showing the responses to the missus she has let me place an order! So fingers crossed this Christmas time I should be flying around better than ever! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Hi guys, currently I have a X55 hotas setup but no rudder pedals at all. I'm fine with fighter jets, but ever since I bought Ka-50 and Huey I find them almost impossible to control, so I'm thinking now I need rudder pedals. Money is tight so I was looking at Saitek pedals for £99 (Amazon). Do you guys think the MFG pedals are so much better that I'm better off saving a bit more and getting them straight off and not bothering with cheaper pedals? I don't want to be disappointed, the missus would kill me! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Just tried the method listed above in SU-27 and it worked great 3 hits for 3 attempts! Thanks for advice gonna try MiG29S next... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. ivanK, thanks for this info I'll try your method it makes sense to me. Many Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Hi guys, loving DCS World 1.5. Finding new affection for MiG29 since update, however, when practicing Air to Ground attacks using free fall bombs. I never seem to get the CCIP line to show in time before I have to pull up. Rockets are fine, is there something I'm missing? Thanks, Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I agree with OP. Now that we have the option to cycle waypoints forward and back (used to be only forward I believe) it is crucial to have the waypoint/airport identification listed. Let's not try to make things so realistic we can't use them!
  14. I love the 1.5 Beta update, and I find the SU-27 & F-15 smoother to fly slow and land (only planes I've flown so far), however the trim/float issue is still there. I seem to find enabling [Autopilot straight and level flight] helps calm it down, small adjustments needed afterwards. Other option is I forward trim (nose down) as part of final pre-flight check when lined up on runway, take off speed doesn't seem affected. Using Saitek X55.
  15. Hi, I have a i5 processor but the same graphics card and memory (8GB RAM and GTX660Ti 2GB). I'm using Win10 and I find the frame rates and general smooth operation of the sim improved compared to previous version. As stated previously you can have both installation on the same hard disk so download v1.5 and give it a go! I'm pleased I did. I may have to upgrade my graphics card in future (res 1080 x 1920) but so far results are good.
  16. This is my first successful carrier landing on the CV Kuznetsov, it's taken a while but the sense of satisfaction was huge! I am looking forward to DCS World 2 and maybe updates carrier operations with F-18.... Worther
  17. I personally enjoy all the Flaming Cliffs aircraft, I got them in Steam sale for about £10, and then ED updated both SU-27 and F-15C what a bargain! They fly well, A2A engagements are fun and challenging. I'm no expert, but the F-16 pilot who consulted on Falcon 4.0 states in the manual 'if Missiles hit every-time they'd be called Hitiles'!
  18. TrackIR z-axis FYI I use the same method, I tried altering the axis response in TrackIR software but found best results deleting TrackIR z axis in the aircrafts' control settings and using a rotary on the throttle (X55). I experimented on a free flight in most flown aircraft, then accessed 'settings' from ESC menu, that way I could quickly compare one setup to another without reloading. Experiment a bit and whatever works for you, works. Worther
  19. I had to look these planes up as I don't know much about them, I'd love to see the J10, wiki said its known as the Vigorous Dragon in the 'West'...now that's what I call a name!
  20. I'm still trying to finish this mission, got as far as one bandit left but I was shot down before I got a shot off at last bandit. I have a quick question, from reading the manual is seems that R-27R can be used as passive radar homing (HOJ) and doesn't require a continued lock from aircraft for guidance like SARH missiles do. Have I read this correct? Also what is the best command to give AI wingman? On my flights he tends to have a short life expectancy! Thanks
  21. Thanks for this, should prove useful.
  22. For my 2p's worth...,I personally really enjoy FC3 aircraft especially F-15 & SU-27. I have quite a few DCS modules, but when time pressures apply I nearly always go for a FC3 plane for a 'quick hit'. I also agree with a previous post that many more modern (70's on) planes could be made using this template, I wouldn't mind if the avionics were 'estimated' if the plane flew well and had exciting capabilities. Additional airframes for CAS or bombing would be good.
  23. Thanks for all posts in this thread, I've just discovered this mission. Thanks go to OP (Deeplodokus) for introducing me to a great mission, I'm fairly new to SU-27 BFM & struggling with it but also I'm enjoying it a lot.
  24. I wondered that myself...even checked the key bindings!
  25. Hi all, I took note of your comments and this time it worked perfectly. Thanks for the advice, I'd still be banging my head against a wall otherwise!
