  1. So I still have not finalized my squadrons light procedures yet. Currently my Real World fighter pilot buddy is in Virginia Beach getting qualified on the F18 Charlie. I did watch this video. (BOTTOM) Notes from the video: Start it at 6:16 for lights Looks like: In parking: NOSE ILLUM: ON POSITION LTS: STEADY ANTI COLLISION: OFF FORMATION:OFF TAXI LIGHT: OFF Taxi: NOSE ILLUM: ON POSITION LTS: FLASH ANTI COLLISION: ON FORMATION:OFF TAXI LIGHT: ON Note on Taxi Light -Kept off when Marshaller is working with AC Take Off: Switch from Taxi to Landing lights
  2. Just an interesting video of Red Flag you can see different light setups. Generally from several videos looks like Position lights Steady, Anti Collision lights, and Taxi lights on in the evenings sometimes during the day. Seems like not a standard Still not sure of SOP but have a buddy that flies F5s/F18c and will ask him.
  3. In a never ending quest to do things right I am wondering if there is anyone with real world knowledge of the proper use of lights in the A-10. Like : When to use flash, turn off taxi lights right before parking (not to blind marshaller) Turn on landing lights before take off, when to turn on strobe, Do not turn on taxi lights before getting clearance for taxi...blah blah blah. Also I know in the Keys members of the adversary squadron, flying F5s, have to stop before entering the parking area and have their brakes checked to make sure they did not burn them up. A10s do this also?
  4. Welp after spending a few hours on setting everything up all is working now. Installed and use Easy Monitor Config tool and it worked great. Had a couple of hiccups but in the end it works fine. I will note - I 100% wish I had gone with a non optical based monitor instead of the camera based. While Loz Helios profile is cool - attaching the TM MFDs would be so much better and faster to use. Even calibrated the touch screen can require a couple+ touches on the OSB buttons to get to work. Can get irritating. The backlit TM MFDs look really awesome too. With a green backlit keyboard, green lights on the Warthog and the TM MFDs the setup looked awesome. Since touch screen for switches and knobs has proven to only be kinda cool but nothing stellar I may just make clipons for the TM MFDs that when used for the sim will stop my touchscreen from working in DCS but allow me to use the TMs. How often do you really need the switches? But I do use the OSBs often. Helios allows you to create multiple setups so I may test both and see which I prefer. #1 - Buy a non optical based touchsceen if you want to use the TM MFDs!
  5. Yeah hi Cali - The Dell is cool. If you get one and have problems setting up the touch let me know it took a day to finally find the right answer - glad to share. My sudo pit is now looking nice. I think I want to use the TM MFDs though so will drop another couple of hundo....never ends. :) Since I work on this computer having the 4th touch screen is really really cool.
  6. Just a follow up: So I did get the Dell. I also have the Thrustmaster MFDs which if attached to the Dell the touch screen will stop working since it is a camera based system. Meaning it has the sensors built into the edges of the display that the MDFs cover up. I believe the Acer is a pressure based system and I could have mounted the mdfs for more of a button feel instead of a glass feel. I know I know - I did not state I had the MFDs in the original post - because I actually didn't at the time and ordered on a whim while waiting for the monitor. No big deal - I will use the glass MFCDs on the Dell until I buy a couple of small monitors. Still is really cool. Just wanted to FYI the next guy.
  7. Thanks Guys, Following your advice we found a different server and things were very smooth. Much more fun!
  8. Too funny Eno - Actually DCS was the originator of my PC obsession a few years ago when the 2600K came out, now I just keep it upgraded for work....well that is my excuse anyways. :) So just to check - You guys play the latest beta and have no jumping problems? My teammate on TS (and in another country) has the exact same issue. But seems fine on non beta. Will check connection rates and check servers tonight - I have not touched those settings. I have a really good personal connection. Will check all of your recommendations. Thanks for responding!
  9. BTW - We just tested on non beta and everything looked fine. Must be a beta bug.
  10. Playing the latest Beta in Multiplayer. Planes on taxiways and runways are jumping all over the place. Being new to multi player is this just something that happens? Looks pretty bad.....and I guess makes me look bad too according to wingman on Teamspeak.
  11. My friend and I have had no luck getting the TARS1.0.2 Beta 4 working in DCS World Open Beta. Where is a good place to find support? We have so far - In the TARS control panel pointed it to: C:\Users\Jack\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta Installed Enabled the Plugin in Teamspeak 3 Options/Plugins Using Push-to-Talk Mapped to our Mic buttons Nothing changes we can continue to talk no matter radio on or off. Never used this before any help would be appreciated.
  12. Ahh yeah - Good advice. So have you setup gauges? I guess I have some more studying to do on what is going to be required for this. I followed your signature and searched Helios. Found this:
  13. Hello, I am running three screens now and want to setup a 4th accessory monitor to display A-10C gauges. I have found several but they have different types of Touchscreens. Probably go with a 19" just under my middle monitor. I guess SLI has no effect on DCS performance? What you guys using? :) Here are two I looked at: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009610 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824260155
