  1. (Original Post) are you setting it to transmit SPI to wingmen with DMS Long Left (del key), then targeting the Air defense with your TGP, setting it as SPI and giving your wingman the order to attack with missile the air defense ? or are you sending the wingman in blindly? Also use F2 to look at your wingman and check for any damage, I find if he is hit by sam or shot up too much he will jettison his ammunition. When he has no ammunition to attack with he will either just rejoin or say "unable". I know this video is "old" but I find if I use commands to the wingmen in this manner they behave according to what the video shows; (EDIT) Bug Found and Reported The problem is not in any "specific mission", It affects all missions. The Artificial Intelligence of the wingman has a problem switching from Gun attack to any other form of attack. To re-produce the fault Load up Any instant action mission, task the wingman to destroy a target with Gun, allow the wingman time to destroy the target and rejoin. Then task the wingman to destroy a target with missile or bomb, the wingman will no longer be able to attack (fault condition achieved). ( Once I had a rare occasion where the wingman was still able to attack with a bomb at the next waypoint, I allowed him 1 pass with the bomb and then tasked him to complete the attack with Gun. After that the fault occurred. ) Temporary Workaround Avoid telling the wingman to use the gun. All other directed attacks ( ie with missile, bombs, etc) should be ok, but once he is in gun mode, thats all he will use. Fault Status Nate (ED Testers Team) has taken a look at it for us. He has Reproduced the fault in a simple track and reported it. Hopefully a fix is on the way.
  2. I didn't have the patience to read all the pages of this thread so forgive me if this has already been suggested.. but Id really like to see the B1-B in both conventional and nuclear strike variants.. Itching to do some low-level flying combined with carpet bombing, or perhaps a nuclear SIOPS run deep into enemy territory. Would be great to have the Russian version as well.
  3. P-38 Lightning is a must... I want I want I want
  4. this may be of some help, or it may not... in any case give it a try.
  5. Another method would be to use the TGP to point track the target and set SPI (making sure the TGP isn't masked). Then swap to the MAV MFD press V to slew the seeker head to SPI. Finally press TMS short UP ( Lctrl + up arrow ) to manually lock the seeker to the SPI, then FIRE! (I find I may have to try the manual lock a few times as it doesn't always work first time). That way you don't have to slew the MAV at all in the last step wich can potentially lose your track. I also found this vid very helpfull..
  6. TBH I like being "infamous around these parts", sounds cool, like rattlesnake style . *starts singing "ya know Im bad" * Yep, please remove my quotes and all... how do I say "Im very ashamed of myself" in German? If I have offended anyone with my limited civilian knowledge of complex classified military systems and my ill temper over the last few days then I am truly sorry. Perhaps my knowledge on the subject is limited and out of date.
  7. (FINAL EDIT) It has come to my attention that some people may have missed my final post in this thread, and are attempting to use it as a means of humiliating and discrediting me in other unrelated posts... To go over it again; {Quote}; If I have offended anyone with my limited civilian knowledge of complex classified military systems and my ill temper over the last few days then I am truly sorry. Perhaps my knowledge on the subject is limited and out of date. {End quote} This is a heart-felt and sincere apology that goes out all. At the time I was having IRL issues and in hindsight, should not have been posting at all. There is great truth in ENO's motto; "Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret." Thanks. (Original post at this location) There is about 1/2 a page of usefull "topic-related" subject matter here and 3 and a half pages of "bloat and gloat". Ive cleaned up the posts Im responsible for, and I suggest others do the same. thanks. Noodle... I find the info you have provided, albeit off topic and unrelated... quite interesting and I'd enjoy discussing these things further with both you and Eddie. This thread isn't the place for that however.
  8. The only thing buggy with the TGP is the way you are misusing it.. It works as intended. try doing things differently... ie; ... ^^excellent vid on employment of the TGP in-game .
  9. Sounds like the TGP/MAV is slaved to a point directly behind or out of vecor range with the boresight of the sensors, perhaps a targeted steerpoint or SPI at a different location to your current one. Try clearing your SPI with TMS Long Down (long press "LCtrl" + "Down Arrow"), Then with the HUD as SOI or the UFC rocker switch, Make sure your current selected steerpoint is the nearest one to your desired target. Finally with the TGP or MAV set as SOI, center the camera to bore with china hat aft ( "C" ) or slew to current steerpoint with china hat forewards ( "V" ). Also; When the TGP is in INR or GIMB ROLL mode it is masked (can't see the target), there will be a M on the TGP MFD and the HUD, you won't be able to track the target as the TGP is masked. Bank the jet until the M is gone , then (with the TGP set as SOI) slew/zoom to the target and designate it as SPI by long-pressing "Left Ctrl" + "Up arrow". Once the target is designated as SPI and the TGP is not masked, tracking should be easy to maintain. When turning and tracking you may need to use shallow turns combined with shallow climbs or dives to maintain the "L" . Watch for the TGP Diamond, the wedding cake SPI, and the highlighted steerpoint on the TADS (moving map) display to help clarify the situation. Hope this helps.
