  1. Just wondering why they chose this particular aircraft over the other in the same lot. Any ideas?
  2. What would be of more interest to me is knowing where you got it from.
  3. No, those are registration numbers and are easy to find because as you said, they're visible on the outside of the aircraft. The manufacturer's serial/construction number is different and is unrelated to the military serial. It's assigned by the manufacturer and is almost always hidden away on the inside of the aircraft. Either someone's leaking these numbers to the public or they're intentionally made known to the public under freedom of information. If it's the latter, then I'd like to know what the source is.
  4. Do the manufacturers really make them known to the public? I can't think of any other way to find an aircraft's construction number unless you're able to walk right up to it and look at the data plate bolted on to the airframe. This relatively new F-35 for example has a construction number listed as AF-116, and the Hornet in my signature is apparently 1448/C464. How the hell did the photographers figure this out?
  5. As I said in one of my earlier posts, I am not demanding a timeline. I'm a developer myself and I totally get why coming up with time estimates and committing to a timeline doesn't always work out. All I want here is for them to simple acknowledge that this bug exists. It's not too much to ask for now.
  6. Welcome to Neptune, msalama. Deano87, thank you for posting the steps to reproduce this bug.
  7. I want to believe you but everything I've seen so far indicates otherwise. I've got a library of games that cost me $60 to $70 each that have given me way better support than ED ever has. I am not demanding a timeline for a fix. All I'm asking for is acknowledgement from the ED team that this bug does indeed exist and will be looked at in due course. Does having purchased nearly $200 worth of modules entitle me to at least that?
  8. this is ridiculous. i thought that being a paying customer would entitle me to make at least some demands/requests, but apparently that isn't the case with ED. i am going to start PMing the mods/admins as well now.
  9. Yes, but it doesn't seem to do anything. My copy of DCS is a clean install after the Hornet was released into the stable branch.
  10. Blue fog still exists. Last I checked I was flying on Earth, not Neptune.
  11. Still a bug that needs to be resolved. I'm going to continue bumping this thread to the top until someone from ED acknowledges that it exists.
  12. All I'm asking for is someone from ED to acknowledge that blue fog is actually a thing and will be fixed at some point in the future. I hope this isn't too much to ask...
  13. Any updates on the blue fog?
  14. the "door" icon at the top of the screen is for logging out, not for quitting DCS. if you click that button, the game will exit back to the login dialog and then start back up. to quit, use the "exit" button at the bottom of the right hand menu.
  15. This issue has been reported multiple times and no one from ED has responded. I understand that this is a low priority issue considering how busy the dev team is, but any response from ED + an approximate timeline to fix would be very appreciated.

    Blue fog

yes, already reported but unfortunately also ignored. this must be very low priority for the devs...
  17. a lot of us don't fly in cloudy weather because it gives us blue fog. i wish i had the chance to try this.

    Blue fog

yes, i did submit this bug several weeks ago, but there were no responses from the moderators or devs/testers. i might try to resubmit...

    Blue fog

it's not a VR issue. i am playing without VR, yet i have got the same ugly looking blue fog that makes thunderstorms look ridiculous. i don't think the devs cared about it too much the last time i reported the bug.
  20. are you sure you set the skill level to human/player?
  21. Ok, so it doesn't look like the graphics card is to blame, which in turn means that everyone probably has the same blue fog issue. Guess I'll just avoid thunderstorms until ED gets around to fixing this.
  22. Thanks for confirming, Art. I thought I was only one of few people experiencing this issue because of how infrequently it's brought up. I guess most people don't like flying in thunderstorms. Just out of curiosity, what manufacturer is your GTX1070 from?
  23. Bump. Would appreciate it if anyone could let me know whether or not this bug is being tracked or if there's something I can do on my end to fix it.
  24. I've got the wingtip vortices bug as well on my Hornet. Seems to happen on every map for me.
