Because Steam many times has better prices than ED website?

Right after a competent, modernish jet fighter that would be able to stand up to all the NATO stuff that is coming (plus that I also want a MiG-31), I would also like some big planes. Tu-160, IL-76, Tu-22, Tu-95, Su-24 and the like.

If I turn the engine off (with auto-shutdown) and later turn it on (with auto-start) many components don't actually work, even though in the auto-start log they were reported to be turned on (the canopy stays open as well after auto-shutdown). For example HUD does not turn on, any sort of lights (landing, strobe, etc.), IRL the plane would basically immediately be grounded and sent to ground crew to find out what's wrong.

I have the same problem as the OP. They don't do anything with completely dark plane (with auto shutdown), neither with just electrics on, etc. Sometimes they will comply, but nothing happens.

I would just like to know which DRM is DCS moving onto? Denuvo? Is it even known yet?

Found their Facebook this weekend, found out they moved on to Beta and that they've been up and down, installed Beta and confirmed it was down. It was up this night/early morning, so that's good. :) Can't check it's still up right now. Hopefully AO can take over VA's popularity and crowd, IF it manages to stay up for a reasonable amount of time. Thanks for all the replies, guys!

After being gone for more than a year I finally got my desire for DCS back and my firewall cooperating so I can connect to mp. But VA, the most popular non-combat server when I was still flying, seems to be gone. All I managed to find are some months old news that they closed everything and that some of the admins set up their own server. Yet even that one seems to be missing. What's going on? And what's now the most popular aerobatics server to fly on and where has the old gang from VA migrated to (Devrim, Flyingbonehead, etc.)?

Yes, I can definitely confirm disabling TF-51 causes some stability issues. Like major. For example game not loading module manager and so on. I reinstalled the entire game without any mods or modules, deleted saved games directory and so on, still same problem. It can't be anything on my computer's side because 1.5.4 works flawlessly and if it was my computer at fault then it wouldn't work either. I rolled back to 1.5.4 in hopes that maybe, someday ED fixes this and I'll be able to fly online again.

Aerobatics Online that I see has this disclaimer: "Aerobatics Online Server - 1.5.5 Updated mission for current version." It's actually the server I most want to fly on. Can't connect. I always disable all mods when updating, updated and even tried repair option. EDIT: for some reason when I disable TF-51 and other modules I can't enter the server browser anymore. It shows me the login window, but nothing happens when I press the arrow to login and when I try to go into the module window it shows me the mission loading screen and freezes at something like 15%. Nothing happens then. I'll try disabling TF-51, see if it brings anything. Oh hell, I might even try to disable all modules and reinstall the entire game while I'm at it. :(

I had thought of servers not being updated, but two things throw a doubt in my mind that that would be the cause. 1. these same servers don't show up when I run the game with the previous (1.5.4) patch, but they do in 1.5.5 2. servers like for example "Aerobatics Online", that has a disclaimer that it is running the latest 1.5.5 version ("Aerobatics Online Server - 1.5.5 Updated mission for current version."), don't work I won't bother reinstalling the game cause that brings nothing, I'll just wait and see if the next patch maybe fixes the problem. It just annoys me that after getting back to flying after almost a year of break this game-breaking annoyance pops up and again I'm out of it, this time unwillingly. Sometimes I really wonder if this game is really worth all the problems.

They are. If they weren't I wouldn't be able to see them in the list. With 1.5.4 I can only see that 104 server that is basically empty and a few locked private servers, but in 1.5.5 I see 121 servers. I try the ones where it says latest patch 1.5.5 and fail, can't connect. In 1.5.4 I can connect, but a few minutes later in 1.5.5 I can't. Thus the problem can not be with my computer or any of my apps, but with the patch. I also tried deleting my Saved Games/DCS folder, but same result.

Yeah, having these problems too, plus I can no longer connect to multiplayer servers. I downgraded to 1.54. and connected with no problem on 104th. Then immediately upgraded to 1.5.5 without doing ANY changes to my Windows, other apps or anything, but after having updated the game I can no longer connect to servers. :( Sometimes I wonder if it's really worth all the problems.

Before I updated to 1.5.5, joining servers worked with 1.5.4. Now when I try to join, even though the server list successfully loads and I see plenty of servers, I can't connect to any of them, no matter which one I choose. I get the loading screen for about 10-15 seconds, but the HDD light is off so the drive isn't loading anything, then it throws me back into server browser with pop-up message "Connection failed. Can't connect" It happsn both with no mods and with mods. I also just reinstalled the Albatross and Blackshark. Anybody else have this problem with this update? Single player thank god works and I'll be reinstalling 1.5.4 again to check it still works there. EDIT: CONFIRMED. 1.5.5 is the culprit. Cause with 1.5.4 I can connect to the last remaining public server (104 dedicated) without any problem whatsoever.

Did anyone else notice "gunner controls" suddenly appearing in the Controls menu with 1.5.5? It's right next to Mi-8 Sim and Mi-8 Game controls. There's also an option to jump into gunner's seat by pressing "4", but it's not working.

Yup, figured that out, but thanks still. :) Just about a million times, together with waiting several minutes, using direct connet with IP, etc. ;-) Nothing, no joy. :( I don't know why just this server won't appear. I'm not banned afaik, plus it's a fresh install of the game, together with a deleted and fresh created "saved games" folder, etc.

Would be nice if someone from VA staff would pop in and try to help at least...

Just wanted to spend a quiet evening making holes in the skies with the MiG-15. Oh well. But seriously, this game is moodier than a pregnant woman that is also suffering PMS on top of hormone mood swings. After upgrading it (not flying for months) the new version refused to start (but a revision 3 numbers back did work). After beating my head against the wall for an afternoon, evening and a night (and downloading altogether some 20gb of files through up- and down-grades) it suddenly came to me in a dream, as corny as it sounds. DCS refuses to start if I don't have freetrack exe running. *facepalm* And now this... can't fly on my fav server. Bloody game. :( Gonna try a complete reinstall, maybe that will help. EDIT: 2.5 hours and one complete reinstall later and no positive result. VA is still hidden, even when I delete the saved games folder, and upon trying the IP connect I get that same message. :( I honestly don't know what to do anymore. On the positive note, at least I don't have to run Freetrack to run game anymore. EDIT EDIT: okay, the only difference I can see from your picture , golani, and mine is that the shield at the middle top of the mp screen in your pic red is, while mine is green. IIRC that means file integrity check? How do I turn that off? In the last one hour I've tried namely every single 1.5.4 update that was released and none worked. This shield thingy is the only reason I can imagine why I cannot see the VA server on the list.

Checked right now, it doesn't show up for me. The only thing starting with Virtual are "Virtual Blue Impulse" and "Virtual Snowbirds". If I select by most populated server then it's 104, "Open Conflict", TAW, "Basis", "Burning skies", "Roads of War", etc. no Virtual Aerobatics. Why would my multiplayer screen filter it out? Do I need to downgrade my game? Are there any special settings somewhere that decide server filtering that I missed? Devrim, could you be so kind and give me the IP and port of the server, I'll try direct connect. Thanks.

It's been a long time since I last flew in DCS so I'm pretty out of the scene and I've been trying to find the VA server for several days in vain. Is the server down? What is it even called in the server list? Is it set to be visible to everyone? I'm using DCS version 1.5.4.55952, is it compatible with VA or maybe I'm using incorrect version and that's why I can't see it? Thanks

Thanks for help guys, but again I stress, I am not looking to buy better/more expensive card, so please don't suggest any others unless they cost new up to 160 eur and can be gotten in Europe for that price and can compete with these two. I'm deciding between these two cards specifically. Reason: as always, money. These two fit what I'm still willing and able to shell out for a graphics card. I'm not buying new card for better performance in DCS, but because my old card is dying and I need a replacement. I'm also wary of buying used electronics, so I'm looking at new. I also don't adore DCS or games in general enough to throw out a stupid amount of money on components just to make it play at 5 fps better. So, 970, 980, various OC editions (that cost 200 and up) and all those expensive cards do not even get considered seriously by me. I still have to pay the bills. ;-) So, thanks for your time and help, but please stay realistic. ;-)

Thanks, guys, for your input, but I need to clarify I am not a millionaire. ;-) The reason why these 3 cards are the ones I'm choosing between is because they are what I can still afford, the more expensive two cost cca 170 eur. I can't afford to spend 400+ eur on a gfx card and even if I could I'm not sure I would. :) To sum this all up, get the 770, but wait a few weeks if the prices will go down from this announcement?

After 4 years I'm getting a new gfx card and this is the last step in moving away from AMD-only setup to a Intel/Nvidia setup. I'm looking at the 3 cards stated above. The 4gb version of 760 and the 2gb 770 are same priced and about 50 euro more expensive than the 2gb 760. My PSU is 750W, 4 years old that is running an i5, 16gb ram and 3x WD Blue drives. I've read on gpuboss that the 770 uses 230W and the 760 4gb uses 250W, while the 2gb 760 "only" 170W. My current card, a ATI HD, is rated according to gpuboss at 108W. Energy bill factures into the equation (which is why the 2gb 760 is still in the game), but I would also like a card that would run games for at least 2 years at somewhat nice settings. Which would be the better buy, the 4gb 760 or the 2gb 770? Or is the 2gb 760 still competent enough card (along with smaller power bills) to run games for another 2 years at at least high 1080p resolutions? Tnx!
