  1. Exactly. Like fixing those blasted R-27s!
  2. Pretty much most planes, given enough skill. You wouldn't believe the stuff that would be parked on the Kuznecov in the hey-day of the Virtual Aerobatics server. Not to mention ALL helicopters. ;-)
  3. Any reason why not slower than 600? I've done them successfully at 300-350 and no problem. And for some reason autopilot doesn't work for me, in no FC3 plane that I fly nor in Su-25T.
  4. No sound here either. Running in ME, spawned in an already running plane. Outside sound yes, inside no. When I opened the canopy I could hear a muted very annoying continuous whistling, no other sound.
  5. Re-downloaded the entire game, deleted the Saved Games folder and started from scratch. Still the same. Turned on vsync, helped slightly, but it's not a solution, it's a patch, the problem is still within the game. There are plenty of threads about stuttering issues and many people complain, so it's not my gfx card's fault.
  6. Weta, this maybe a bit off-topic, but is it possible to lase targets for the 25, either A or T? Whether the one doing the lasering is in a Combined Arms vehicle (do you perhaps know IF Eastern CA vehicles can lase and which ones are they) or maybe even Ka50? If yes, which 25's missiles would be needed and what would be the procedure? Again, my apologies for going off-topic and thanks in advance for reply.
  7. I only wish the warning lights and RWR in the 25 were nicer made, they're so hard to read as they are. :( He was an obvious troll from the start. ;-) It seems that pro-West players often feel the need to troll and disturb pro-East threads and even forums (for example the all-too-frequent incursions of F-15 fanboys into Su-27 forum and threads like the ER discussion threads and their attempts to prevent any fixing the horribly bugged missiles). You don't see that from our side. It's like they feel seriously threatened.
  8. While I still frequented the 104 (long ago in 1.2) a guy I flew a lot with would work wonders with the 25A and the big, unguided missiles. That plane still has a lot to give and in the right hands it's still deadly, even in an area with AAA presence.
  9. You don't know the Wings of Russia Studios docus? :O They've made docus about most Soviet/Russian planes, even detailed docus about MiG-25/31, Su-27, MiG-29, Tu-160, Mi-8 and Mi-24. Fantastic watching. In the general series about the planes (sorted on type of planes) the narrator is a bit hard on the ears, but he actually grew on me quickly and I like hearing him now. :D They're THE best docus on Russian hardware out there. Western crap is just that, crap. Too full of propaganda (bashing Soviets and grandizing their own) that I stopped watching them years ago. Russians, on the other hand, stay on topic and deal mostly with facts not myths. :D
  10. +1 everything the man says!
  11. Yet with medium settings on 1080p I get 100+ fps. I also understand that most times minimum specs (30 years of gaming). ;-) :) The ONLY game that puts my computer to it's knees is Kingdom Come Deliverance, have no problems with any other game, modern or old. Especially not with stuttering (except for Il-2 Cliffs of Dover, but there the people who DON'T have stuttering without tweaking are the strange ones :D ). Stutters are from my experience not caused by gfx card, but by the game's problems. And to make clear, never before in all the years of playing DCS did I have this problem, not even in the last months of 1.5. So it's not my gfx card that's the problem. It's either something wrong with my files in dcs install or a recent update messed something up. After all, I'm not the only one having this problem... Noticed something interesting as I was trying to record the problem with Fraps. I deleted the Saved Games folder, so did this with new settings. Spawned in an Su-27 over water, pressed "rctrl+pause" and turned on IRST to check. Yes, stuttering was back. Turned off and went back into nav mode. Then started fraps and started recording, fps got locked down from STABLE 107 fps to 60 as set by fraps. Started recording, turned on bvr and irst. Suddenly no stuttering. Since as soon I start recording the stuttering is magically healed due to the fps-lock I can't give any proof. :( But it does makes me wonder what exactly that means and where can I find an app that would only lock my fps and not do other things (like Fraps records). Will also try to re-dl base game and FC3 overnight, if a new install will help.
  12. Then I'm getting old. :D Now to find out how to even see anything on the ground to be able to attack it. xD
  13. Okay, did some more testing, A-10a and F-15 come out clean (tested the TWS issue reported by others, but didn't have it). These are the only two Western planes I have (due to FC3), so can't say about others. The Soviet planes still have the problem even with completely empty mission and fresh start of both computer and game. Reshade slightly exacerbates the problem, but doesn't produce it (tested with it turned off). That is also the only mod I run. Specs: i5 4670k, turbo at 4ghz asrock z97 fatal1ty killer 16gb of brand ram (forgot which brand xD) ati hd 6770 1gb 750W psu The only thing now I guess is to delete the saved games folder and see if it's still there. This install is the one I have since 1.2.8 Open Beta, so there may be some crap from before that's producing it, but I have also read others have performance issues since last updates. Not really looking forward to redownloading the entire game and all the modules on the off chance itll help. Bignewy, thanks for letting me know you're there! :)
  14. I haven't flown the 25A for a long time, but after I jumped into it yesterday I was amazed at the visibility from it, light-years better than that of 25T. Not only is the dashboard "smaller", but windows are larger, I have the feeling as if I sit a bit higher so I see through the front better and so on. Has it been redone in the last year or two or is my mind just playing tricks on me? I wish I could fly this amazing bird more, but I'm simply too blind without a TV screen to find targets. :(
  15. Before I upgraded my pc I always had my old HD 6770 (that wasn't extra even when it was new, 5 years ago) core-overclocked. First with ATI Tools as long as they were supported, but the last few years with MSI Afterburner. Achieved very nice results and as long as I stayed within stable range I never really had problems with stability or crashing. EDIT: and yes, that was in 1.2 as well. :)
  16. I don't use F-15 so can't confirm that, but can confirm that restarting doesn't help with Soviet planes. Wanted to do some CAS with the 25T on an MP server, but stuttering was so bad as long as I had electrics turned on that any CAS work was impossible. I actually had to taxi and take off with electrics turned off, it was that bad and hampering! Also noticed some serious FPS drop in Shkval of the Ka-50, especially because of the Vikhr's smoke trail. At this point the Su-25A is the only plane I've tried that works without problems (haven't tested the MiG-21 yet). It might be my imagination, since it's been a long time since I've flown it, but it seems to have a seriously sweet new cockpit with excellent visibility, much better than the 25T. The game was silk-smooth a few updates ago, what happened to it? PS: I wonder if mods/testers are even reading this or if they are even aware of the problem.
  17. Hopefully it's not me because 33gb download at 200kbs dl speed is not a pleasant prospect. :(
  18. Tested this both in MP as well as editor on clean and empty map. It continuous, FPS gets halved and then back again, halved, back again and so on, from 80 to 40 FPS in space of a second. Su-25T: stutters as soon I turn on electricity. if i turn it off, everything is smooth Su-25A: no stutters Su-27 and Su-33: stutters in IRST and Radar BVR modes MiG-29: stutters only in Radar BVR mode, while IRST is okay Will do some more testing of other modules.
  19. I've disabled all the options and to my surprise found out my flying is now much better than even when I had that autopilot assist (AI helper or something like that), especially the landings improved. Maybe because I'm being more careful now and plan the approach more rather than just plunge in. hm. EDIT: I mean, I disabled all special options SINCE the lock-up event/first post. The scary part now are the take-offs, the chopper just wants to tip on it's side when I increase collective (maybe I'm not gentle enough). xD Got through the second mission of the campaign on the first try though, even with taking on extra troops, so I'm pretty happy.
  20. Thanks for the reply! :) It's good to know that my joystick is not dying or that I won't have to redownload the entire game with all modules. :D
  21. I don't know what causes this, whether it's a feature or a problem with my controller (TM T.16000), but many times my controller just stops responding. Stops responding as in me pulling the stick into every direction, even extremes, plus rudder, but the chopper isn't responding and the controls indicator confirms that neither the little ball nor the rudder line are moving. The green light on my jostick is lighting up though, so the sensors are working. Maybe it's a coincidence, but it happened several times as I was approaching to land in the last mission and it also happened at least once right after I trimmed the chopper during approach. I can't remember it happening during normal flight. Could it be a trimmer issue? Whatever it is, it's caused me to fail first campaign mission because it happened 3 times at that last outpost. 2 times I managed to save it by increasing collective, but the last time it was too late and I lost my tail. Any ideas what it could be?
  22. IIRC, the SM was dropped or was a mininterpreted statement in the first place, because I can remember some mods this year saying there will be no SM. :( I would also love a 24, but I'm afraid there is nothing Soviet or Russian in the works and nothing to look forward to for the next 2 years, all the projects I saw on the timeline thread are just Western planes and choppers. Damn shame. :(
  23. Because that's the most frequent excuse we get. And because of that we try to console ourselves/fool ourselves that this excuse really holds so it makes us feel better. And becaues we don't want to be Don Kihots. Honestly I call BS on many of these excuses, for example when it comes to the Su-30 - the plane has been sold around the globe for the last 20 years and I'm positive Russia's enemies have gotten their hands on it, so there's nothing really secret about it anymore; it should therefore be no problem to model it accurately enough for FC3. But we still keep hearing classified. And, in the end when it comes to this, what do we stand to win fighting against wind-mills or hitting with our heads against a brick wall? That's why we just, resignedly, accept this "it's classified".
  24. Nope, what is up there with Goat Simulator is that planes that were specifically built to land on sand and poor runways get stuck in the first centimeter of grass if you veer off the runway even a little. I presume you never fly choppers, especially in MP because if you did you wouldn't be against it. Also, if you wouldn't use this opportunity why try to prevent it for the rest of us that would? Seriously, how would mobile repair in this game make your life so miserable that you have to attack even the idea of it?
