  1. Thanks for the help! Pretty sad that this function is not possible, I guess it's two separate missions instead. :(
  2. For a misison I'm making for a friend and myself I want two elements I don't know how to implement. The first is time skip. After landing on an airfield and shutting down the engines I want the time to skip several hours. For example, mission would start in the morning, followed by flying and probable combat, then landing. Then the time would skip and suddenly it would be evening, followed by a return flight. I know it would be easier if I simply created two missions set during different day times, but I want this in one for better immersion. The second element I want is probability of spawn. In OpF/Arma series it was amazingly simple, you just had to play with the probability bar. I plan to put some zones to act as triggers for enemy groups to spawn with late activation, but I don't want the spawns to be 100% certain which would make the mission predictable even to myself. I don't want to know for sure when and where we would encounter enemies. This would hopefully help with replayability of the mission as well. Also, is there any way to make time in mission go faster or slower? Would be nice for a quicker day/night rotation. Are these features possible? Thanks!
  3. This. So why come on this side of the forum? You've lost nothing here, you don't fly Flankers or even Fulcrums... That is normally a big red flag...
  4. ^As said sorry for hijacking threads, but as written in my post was talking about other planes like MiG-29, Su-25A and T, cause as you said 27 and 33 don't have external fuel tanks.
  5. Great idea, Sweep, giving misleading or even bad advice to new players! Sadly, I've seen goodmeaning advice like this too much in motorcycle community and too many times it gets beginners hurt or even killed. DCS equivalent of correct progression path for beginners is to start with tutorials, then single missions, then campaign, then private servers with a friend with experience teaching you how to fight against human players and THEN finally public mp!!! If you want to have any sort of success instead of just frustration. The truth is if you jump feet-first into MP without any real practice before hand you will never learn anything, just get frustrated. And maybe even leave the game for good. I flew on 104 a lot, but got tired of being a simple practice dummy for 104 admins and other players who were all in Eagles. Flinging AMRAAMS at people happens much more than ET's and even when you do fling an ET what with Russian missiles being so bugged it's more of a dice chance of getting a hit. And even though you laugh at them and try to discredit and deny all the study, the tracks and bug-reports, Sweep, the problem IS there and it's acute. There was also the problem on 104 of very bad communication and very few people from Red side on TS, lack of Mi-8 missions, only one night mission (after a long time) that was only rarely on, etc. Uhuh, suuuure. :music_whistling: To new people who don't know him yet: Stuge is a long time DCS player, one of the best Su-27 drivers during my time on 104. He was one of the few pilots who managed to bring the fight to Eagles on somewhat equal terms. But, I will have to contradict him here, I've regularly seen Eagle drivers with equal and mostly much better kill rates than he wrote here. Many of the 104 admins and members are btw. on the top 15 list of the best online DCS players in the world... Of course in Eagles... Thus, 104 is NOT a good place for a new Soviet pilot!
  6. Your wit keeps developing I see.
  7. Trolling again? SEriously, don't you have anything better to do?
  8. It's not about ECCM, it's about the fact that many missiles don't guide/lock off the rail. And this thread and other similar deal with problem that is mainly seen in Russian planes (since this is a Su-27 side of the forum, something which CERTAIN OTHER community members seem to forget...) are focused on these problems. The thing with 120B is that it's not that much used, while the 27ER is supposed to be the premium, main missile for Soviet fighters. other questions still remain unanswered, like what is being done to fix the problem, priority, etc. Btw., I added to that post since I last wrote it. R-77 is also known as problematic, but more because of horrible speed loss than lock/guidance problem (which it also has). TWS2 also doesn't seem to work as it's supposed to. This sim/game focuses a lot on air combat. The problem is that one side has such bugged/problematic missiles that it's BVR is many times non-existent. EDIT: I don't have M2000, but I've heard that even it's devs are unsatisfied with how MICA performs.
  9. And they appear only with R27/SARH that WE know of. I asked in that thread, but the last time I checked (2 pages have been posted since my post) I never received an answer. Where else are the symptoms of this problem be seen and what exactly is the problem. What is ED doing to fix it, what priority does this problem have for ED, when can we expect a fix and all those lovely questions. One of the biggest problems that those flying East fighers see is that our issue is not even being acknowledged. Instead we are being accused of whining and exaggerating and simply making bugs up, alongside of being accused of childish behaviour, from one side and from another side we are being actively TROLLED in order to prevent any fixing. Yet everyone is noticing these problems, many prominent members of this community have openly pointed them out in interviews. It would also be nice if mods would do their work and clean threads of trolls and their posts, like the certain member and his "contribution" a few posts below.
  10. Hm, I seem to recall you stating in another thread not so long ago that ER problems are just a symptom of a deeper problem within the game.
  11. Well that's the best way to discredit the topic and even derail the thread. Then it can be swept under the rug as "those East players are whining again" and gratefully ignored by devs and mods, something that makes F-15 drivers grateful too. Either that or posting idiotic pictures with even more stupid captions on them and pretending to be smart. Aka trolling.
  12. Exactly. If there was any other flight sim where I could fly Su-27 and other Soviet jet fighters, I would've been long gone, DCS is not such a good sim that I would stick around unless I had no other options. And the attitude we get for supporting the company is even worse than patronizing.
  13. If you're a beginner go on 104 only if you fly American planes, otherwise don't even bother. You'll get little to no help if you fly Russian fighters plus your only role will be as cannon fodder and bettering kill ratio for the 104 members. Aerobatics is excellent to learn basics of flying and navigation and even light use of radar and systems (shooting is forbidden though). Best way to learn combat is NOT on any public multiplayer server!!! Best way is first of course tutorial missions and then single player missions, followed by campaign. When you know how do air combat go on MP.
  14. What they should be called then? Should I call them Soviet missiles or Russian missiles or maybe by the name of the workers that put them together?
  15. Not if our's get fixed AT ALL. And I'm no longer counting on that from ED.
  16. Sorry for thread jacking, but ejecting fuel tanks doesn't work well either for me in any Soviet FC3 or 25T. It just doesn't dump them, I have to either wait or dump my payload prematurely. Also, Autopilot (lalt+2 or A or H) doesn't work for me either in any FC3 plane nor in 25T and hasn't since 1.5. I've heard some opinions that it's because of bugged autopilot that the 27 needs to be constantly trimmed?
  17. I've had an AI A-10C in my sites 1km in front of me, flying straight and level. I was in Su-27. Shot at him 2xER. One ER never even got a lock, just flew STRAIGHT from the rail, the second ER went towards the A-10, but then at half-point for some reason suddenly swerved 90° to the left and then slammed into the ground. The A-10 was deploying neither chaff nor making any sort of evasive maneuvers, weather was clear and I had a firm lock. In the end I had to shoot it down with cannon. Another plane in that mission I had to ram to get it down because I was out of cannon and all missiles just failed to lock or went on their mission to Mars. Now please explain to me how these missiles are not bugged and that it's supposed to be this way? The end of their easy life. Right now they have total domination and it's doing wonders for their self-steem and arrogance. As soon as East missiles get fixed they will actually have to WORK for their kills (*gasp*, can you believe such a concept? Unthinkable!). That's why they try with everything they are to impede or even prevent fixing of our horribly bugged R-27's. IIRC from some threads, they already are against that.
  18. Thank you very much! :)
  19. My 2 euro cents: I can barely see targets, especially if they've got camo paint like Abrams tanks. Had to almost crash into one to finally see him.
  20. Also confirming front canopy looking as if open when sitting in the back seat though it's closed. Later at some point of taxiing or even rolling the screen flickered and the canopy was suddenly closed. Triggering system failures doesn't seem to work yet. Plus two sound bugs: - where I can hear the engine spooling down when jumping into a newly spawned plane as a back-seater. pilot didn't hear anything of the sort - during flight there was a shutting down sound as if APU was shutting down (or engine even - not sure which), but pilot started plane with autostart (so APU should already be shut down) and said didn't hear what I heard.
  21. Have several questions/requests and I'm hoping someone could help me with them. 1. Could anyone please explain to me or point me to an already-existing explanation on how to use flags as conditions for triggers and what do the flag and value things mean and how to use them? I want a mission to end based on 3 different conditions being met (ground target destroyed, enemy fighter destroyed and all coalition planes landed in a specific spot on the parking lot) and it looks as if these flags are the way to go. But I have no idea how to use them. 2. How do I make sure the briefing for the mission doesn't include a list of enemy units/threats? I don't want players to see what is waiting for them and be ready for it. 3. For some reason the game doesn't register the kill of an AI plane, whose shoot-down (with guns) is supposed to trigger a message to the group that shot it down (escort fighter) and also be one of the conditions to trigger mission end. Is it because if the AI bails out it's not counted as a kill since the pilot survives? How can I get the plane be counted as a kill even if the pilot survives so it triggers a trigger? Thanks in advance!
  22. Noob question, but WHAT is Helios?
  23. They have guidance and succeptibility to ecm/chaff/flare problems too? O.o So, basically a game that is a lot about BVR is bugged for most of the player base, except those flying F15s. Lol, nice.
  24. So, basically it's a much deeper and even more serious problem that hasn't been fixed yet (how long has it been there?). I'm honestly curious what exactly this problem is, why it's so hard to kill and where else does it manifest as well, aside from completely destroying any air-to-air dynamic on MP servers. Also, what priority for the team does this problem have in fixing (highest, lowest or somewhere around none-essential-we'll-get-to-it-someday). EDIT: I haven't been following the forums on this topic much, so no, I'm not trolling and wanting something to be said that's been said 20-times before.
