  1. It's only on the 1.54 beta right now. This Friday it should be released to 1.54 (on beta) then they will develop for 2.0 next.
  2. Sorry if this is posted elsewhere. But has anyone tried the Oculus Zoom action added to "UI layer" input options yet? I just did on 1.54 beta and I feel its a game changer for VR straffing or bombing runs. If you haven't tried it yet in the beta goto controls then goto the pull down for the aircraft and choose UI Layer then assign it to a button on your throttle or joystick. I use a switch on my Throttle because otherwise you have to hold in the button to keep zoomed. I can't wait till this comes out for 2.0 alpha.
  3. Anyone else here check their shipping status online for the Rift CV1 and find out that they are going to be a month and a half late on shipping? I ordered the Rift on release day (Jan 6th) and it said April 7th as delivery and now it says 5/9 - 5/19. I'm pissed. I haven't heard that much backlash over this so I'm wondering if I am in a small subset of orders that are this far delayed. Let me know.
  4. Winger, Did you use the prior version DK2? Just wondering the comparison between the 2. I updated my runtime to 1.3 last night and was blown away on how good the UH1 and A10 modules looked using the same settings as .8 runtime. Let me know how the 2 compare if you have both.
  5. FYI. If anyone finds this search and was wondering about the solution. It turned out to be a hardware problem on the rift. I put a ticket into Oculus support and after a quick phone call they sent me out a replacement free of charge. Great customer support over there.
  6. I switched a while ago from 8.1 then found the Oculus Rift unusable with the motion blur. I rolled back to 8.1 but have been thinking of trying again with the latest nvidia driver release specific to Oculus support. Anyone else out there use DCS with the Oculus Rift DK2 on Windows 10?
  7. I had a similar issue and it turned out to be something simple. When I load the config files for my Saitek Rudder controllers there were options in there that effect roll by default. So as I flew if I touched my rudder pedals the plan would take a dive that was uncontrollable. This is a long shot but try going into your controls and clearing your settings for everything except your joystick to narrow it down.
  8. Anyone Try the Oculus CV (Consumer Version) yet? If there is anyone out there that has gotten the latest Oculus Rift CV let me know. I ordered mine on release day and it was suppose to come this week. I received an email last night that it will be delayed. I am interested in your opinion on the quality of screens and motion blur issues. I am also interested in what version of DCS you are using it in? Also let me know if you used the prior version DK2 and can compare the 2.
  9. Something to take into account. The main parts of the website hasn't been updated in a while. Most dates from the "Experience" refer to past 2015 dates. The only updates are the news section. There is no release date that I can find for the headset, so from my experience with the Rift you are looking at a good 2-3 years before a consumer version is available. Also I would expect the price to be way higher than the rift based on the screen quality choices. By the time they release it, I would bet Rift version 2 or 3 will be out with the same specs. I have used Oculus DK1 and DK2 for the last couple years with DCS and hope that CV1 works better than the previous models. If anyone knows when a release date is scheduled or if they are doing a developers kit let me know.
  10. With the Rift can we make the menu screens take advantage of the motion sensor. Meaning that if we move our head closer to the screen that the option window will zoom in and clarify itself? The resolution of the rift make its really hard to read some of the small text. It would be helpful if we could use the motion tracker to make the screens easier to read. Especially for a newbie when I need to look up a key mapping while in the game its basically impossible. The other option would be if we could move the window around the screen using the mouse. I find certain areas of the oculus are clearer than others so if you could drag the window around it might be helpful.
  11. I figured I would chime in with my 2 cents. I was using Windows 8.1 Pro with Oculus DK2 and DCS 1.5 all latest updates and was working really good. Then I updated to Windows 10 and noticed a big drop in performance. It basically made the Oculus unusable. Any time the head moved the motion blur would basically make you sick. I rolled back to Windows 8.1 and all is back to normal. My rig is an Alienware Area 51 Rev2 Intel i7-5820 3.3Ghz/16GB Ram/Mirrored 512 SSD's/Nvidia 980 GTX (single)
  12. I believe my Oculus must be going bad. I normally only use it for DCS so I assumed it was DCS related. I then tried the oculus demo's and it happens there as well. I have updated to latest software and still happens.
  13. Anyone else out there experience while flying using DCS 1.5 beta and Oculus .7 SDK on DK2 that the screens on the oculus go fully static like an old TV use to do? I will be flying along on the A10c then randomly the screen will fill with static and I can't see anything. The mirror output that displays on my monitors looks normal so I need to pull my oculus off my head to make sure I don't crash. It happens about once every couple minutes. I understand this is a beta but wondering if anyone else is experiencing it. Never had this problem with 1.2x. I took my phone and recorded the view from the right eye and uploaded to youtube. https://youtu.be/N1Z4K4g4AEI I am using a Dell Alienware Area 51 16GB RAM with a single Nvidia GTX 980 with 8GB Video Ram. I am running latest version of GeForce Graphics 3.58.50. Any help is appreciated.
