    Manual

Read it from head to toe. It's very very outdated as everyone knows.

    Manual

The FC3 planes have more complete manuals. I feel like im gonna explode, I mean the Mirage is a joy to fly, it is awesome, but I cant believe they charge full price for this.

    Manual

Hi guys, I just got the Mirage a couple of days ago and im very dissapointed on the manual. I was reading it and by the time I got the the half of it I understood it was written in the initial open beta. But now we have tons of new features and systems that are not in the manual. How can this be possible? What can I do to learn in a professional way this aircraft? I wont google each system every time I want to learn something, we should have an operation manual accordingly. Thanks.
  4. I was wondering if those two knobs are functional as there are no reference in the manual or chucks guide. Big Thanks!

    Pulse Repetition

Thanks Sir. I reply here since the other post is kinda old. I have two questions. I was in Low PRF yesterday and had the antenna looking at -5 thousand feet but saw no ground returns, everything was filtered. So I guess either PRF is not modeled on the Mirage or something might be going on. Second, related to the above, I was chasing a friend during training yesterday, and noticed that at 11nm he dissapeared from my radar no matter what PRF I selected, so I more or less conclude that High or Low PRF is the same in the Mirage. Thanks, im new in the Mirage so I will be having a lot of questions.:)

Sometimes the community managers do answer. Its nice when they do. Hope it gets added.

    Countries

So no plans to add this huh? its such a simple task that will bring a country with war experience to the sim :)
  9. Stick with the 4790k, its a formidable cpu, one of the best of all times. i have it and will have it for quite some time

    Mirage and trackir

Does anyone find trackir 5 with a strange behaviour in the mirage? Its like its moving so much different from other modules.

    Radar Filter

From the manual: RDI radar capabilities and limitations Max Ranges* Lock Type Doppler Search Lock TWS STT Filter High PRF 65 50 yes yes 100% Med PRF 45 20 yes no 50% Low PRF 25 N/A no no 0% * All distances are in nautical miles. What does the doppler filer percentage is? The amount of filtering that will be under those modes? Doesnt seem correct.
  12. I was reading this: "The PRF is one of the defining characteristics of a radar system. Radar system normally consist of a powerful transmitter and sensitive receiver connected to the same antenna. After producing a brief pulse of radio signal, the transmitter is turned off in order for the receiver units to hear the reflections of that signal off distant targets. Since the radio signal has to travel out to the target and back again, the required inter-pulse quiet period is a function of the radar's desired range. Longer periods are required for longer range signals, requiring lower PRFs. Conversely, higher PRFs produce shorter maximum ranges, but broadcast more pulses, and thus radio energy, in a given time. This creates stronger reflections that make detection easier. Radar systems must balance these two competing requirements." I always thought, based on DCS documents, training, manuals and posts in these forums, that the High PRF had longer range and Low PRF had shorter range. But this I copied above states the opposite. Does anyone know the real deal?

  14. Can you elaborate on that? I just bought the Mirage and didnt understand what you said about the IFF. THanks

    Huey wish list

A subject-matter expert (SME) or domain expert is a person who is an authority in a particular area or topic. The term domain expert is frequently used in expert systems software development, and there the term always refers to the domain other than the software domain.

    Huey wish list

I agree 100%. Very good explanation, thanks for sharing.
  17. Thanks derodo, but the issue was about the default enter key, not the 5. I dont see how the curve will change the center of an axis.
  18. Huh? Never said anything about center view
  19. doesnt anyone find this weird?
  20. Yes thats correct. Hence, the reset zoom should be the same as the center of an axis. It is not pointed anywhere, its just common sense, at least to me. :(
  21. Hey Mike. Regardless of the resolution feature, I was referring to the fact that pressing "Zoom Normal" key does not put the zoom in the same position as the center of an axis. They should be the same.
  22. Hi guys, anyone here to help?
  23. Hi guys, Im using an axis for the zoom and I noticed that when in center it gets to a position closer than when pressing "Enter". In fact pressing enter will zoom out a little bit. Is this a bug that appeared with last wednesday update? This is the first time I use an axis for the zoom. All axis behave the same, even the stick.
  24. I just got my TWCS and all I can say is: awesome! Every single axis returns to center, no jitter, tons of hats and buttons. This is the best price/quality ratio i have ever seen. I recommend it.
  25. Done! Happy to help. SP was my choice.
