  1. Both of those would be VERY cool.
  2. I understand the frustration some users have with it. In a real jet, it's a pretty simple process to reach forward and raise the big red handle without ever taking your eyes off whatever you doing, like flying off of your lead. It's another thing to have to play the guessing game of is it R-Shift-G, L-Shift-G, L-CTRL-G, etc, especially if you don't have the time to stay as proficient in the MiG-21 specifically as you'd like. But, I can also understand the intent of making all functions bindable. I'll echo what NeilWillis said and recommend investing in VoiceAttack. After rotation, all I do is say "Gear up, flaps up" and it will do the appropriate key presses to raise both. I have similar functions set for gear/flaps down, Ground Power On/Off, re-arm menu, and chute deploy/disconnect.
  3. Well, I am not going to further argue their usefulness. I know how useful they are in both the context of an aircraft and car, and having used both with a HUD, I wouldn't go back. Now just to get what I drive as a daily driver to have an HUD and an DEP to change the radio stations when I'm driving, that'd be greattttt. Also, no disrespect as far as your service. Without being more specific in the open to maintain some sort of anonymity, current AD here.
  4. Having a HUD in a car is something I wish more manufacturers would do. Chevy got it right in the Corvette. It's absolutely worth it to not have to look down to check your speed and, to a lesser extent, fuel or tach in traffic. Saying it goes past that is a stretch. There's zero reason to care about Gs and if you're truly driving a car "to the limit," as in at the track, you've got other things to worry about than MPH, at least while actually driving. MPH is just for bragging rights at the bar. Progress is shown through laptimes, not speed, in my opinion. And yes, I have seen/done it. However, for street driving, its purpose is to keep your eyes on the road. Anything you can do, for the average driver, to keep their eyes looking outside and attentive is a good thing.
  5. I wish there was a way - and frankly an overhaul to the track files would be great - but I don't know of any to convert it. I use OBS to record the footage. It's free software: https://obsproject.com/
  6. I will do that, I wasn't aware you could. Thanks for the tip! Edit-Actually I looked at the switch and it's just one I've gone through and turned on without really understanding the function. I'll leave it off in the future though.
  7. As promised, here's the video of one of the kills from this weekend.
  8. Bagged my first a/a kill in the 21 yesterday on the 104th server, not including the ground attack guys I've killed before. Intercepted an F-15 that was conning up high and today stumbled upon an F-15 in the mountains. The second one must not have been paying attention because we merged in the same valley and I passed below him initially. I was recording so videos will follow. TrackIR is game changing, you'll never be able to fly without it now.
  9. It doesn't really make sense that you could get something wrong on the start or taxi and just esc back to the briefing and load a brand new jet like nothing happened, but it's just a nature of being a sim. I agree with the OP, I believe you should have the option to select the skin of the aircraft you load into from the brief. Or, at least give the mission designer the option to allow the client to select a skin. For instance, in a very scripted story mission in which you are flying in XX squadron, it obviously doesn't make sense to be able to change the aircraft paint. However, in a general public multiplayer server, such as the 104th, it would be nice to select a different skin to differentiate yourself from everyone else when there's no particular livery required.
  10. How about being able to land on the boat without sliding off of it? That'd be a great start. Hopefully this is a must on ED's list as part of updates released prior to the Hornet. The current lack of stability on the boat is unacceptable for an aircraft so dependent on naval operations.
  11. I agree, it is something that DCS is lacking. The work that Aries has done is outstanding, but I believe there needs to be an official solution. Aries does have its limitations, for one it's great for a group like the 476 who all are on one teamspeak but its usefulness on pub servers is limited. Perhaps ED could bring towsim onboard and work towards an official voice comm. Just a thought.
  12. The message they're obviously trying to send is that they are making a "The Final Countdown" campaign.
