  1. Yup I have this issue. When I restart after a mission is already in progress using shift + R I come back with some sound lacking. Then comes back about seven minutes into the mission. That sound turns out to be critical to the realism. Thanks to whoever helps this get solved! It's easy to tell because the airbrake is silent. I think there is also missing wind.
  2. That's what she said. Thanks for the tip! 768px was as short as I could make it. You may ask why, but it's perfect for my recording setup to have the main window be 1920x768. It helps reduce overall bandwidth over the internet, and still looks fantastic, even though it's an odd aspect ratio 2.5 I'm sure most of you reading this are well aware that these aspect ratios work great with DCS, providing better side vision than a typical 16:9 or 16:10. The above resolution is 16:6.4 which is fairly narrow, but I just think the shape of the planes and the video calls for a longer view.
  3. Drop your linen, and start your grinen You heard him boys, elbow and assholes. We got a job to do, and we're gonna do it. From the command line, just like I told you and use at your own risk. This got me back on track TCP/IP stack repair options for use with Vista or 7. Start - All Programs - Accessories and right click on Command Prompt, select "Run as Administrator" to open a command prompt. Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog Reset IPv4 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log Reset IPv6 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log Reboot the machine. If that alone doesn't get it I had also previously run the following: netsh firewall reset Let me know how it goes. Since I tried a reinstallation of DCS first, I still have to download 4Gigs for the update, but HEY! It could be a lot worse, and now maybe I can help the others avoid all that wasted time. Try rebuilding the TCP/IP stack.
  4. Good idea, but no dice. Seriously this is bizarre I can ping that IP, but I get no server response when using nslookup from the cmd prompt. Must be bad network settings on my part, I wouldn't be surprised if it's a lingering setting from anti-virus, or antimalware, but I'm really pulling my hair out over here. Maybe I'll just play the old version tonight.
  5. Not sure what is going wrong, seems like it must be on my end, but I can't for the life of me determine the cause or solution. Here is my Autoupdate_log: --- Log file: E:\DCS World\autoupdate_log.txt === Log opened UTC 2014-12-23 23:34:20 INFO : DCS_Updater/2.4.1.59 (Windows NT 6.1.7601; Win64; en-US) INFO : cmdline: "E:\DCS World\bin\DCS_updater.exe" --apply repair STATUS: Initializing... ERROR: Conection to server 'updates.digitalcombatsimulator.com' failed: Couldn't resolve host name ERROR: updates.digitalcombatsimulator.com replied HTTP -1 ERROR: Couldn't resolve host name === Log closed. nslookup, is giving me no response from server. This has got to be a firewall or antivirus thing perhaps malwarebytes, I've uninstalled almost everything, and in the process of reinstalling DCS, and that didn't seem to help.
  6. Great thanks! This worked for me.
  7. Digging in now. This is tits! I'm still no go, on setting up a mission with MIST, without moderate difficulty, but I'm only 24 hrs. in. This thread is making my mouth water though I doubt it's more than a pavlovian response to procrastination. I'm thinking perhaps the witchcraft item will help me debug whatever the trouble seems to be. The idea was to setup some respawning groups for target practice on my local. It seems complicated by the fact that the larger aircraft cannot be in squadrons. I only seem to be able to have one large aircraft per group. I know the hoggit server has a mission with 5 yaks respawning. So, regardless, I'm into this game enough, I want to get better at the ME. As far as MIST, my doctor said MYLANTA. Still if I can work through the initial growing pains, maybe I can sink a few years of my life into it! WOO!
  8. Oh crap. Crap, sounds like I'll just have to wait with this funny looking white circle for a sun! Hmm, maybe go back to using default MFD's. Nah.
  9. Got it with your help, thnx. Hmm, that didn't quite work for me. What did work was I ctrl+alt+del for task manager, then minimize DCS from task manager. After that I was able to access the desktop again. Thanks for the tip! -HawkEye79:smilewink:
  10. Nice Signature. I like that tag-line. Very Zen.
