  1. Tried this last nite with the A-10c. A couple things: I couldn't get the JTAC to work at all. I'm positive I had the radio tuned correctly and all that, but he never answered my initial call. He did, however, give me the radio messages when I made the kills on the groups he was watching. Also, I really dislike the JTAC on the VHF AM radio. Is this just something that has to be done due to how the missions are scripted, or can it be changed? As an A10, having the JTAC on the AM means AWACS and others are tuned out. Generally the FM radio is used for the JTAC it seems.
  2. Well, poop. Thankfully ATC is a small part of the voice comms....for me the JTAC stuff is what really helps a lot with immersion. But, it seems the guy who created the static ATC is definitely no longer around, and teasingly had said he had the fixes for what 1.5 and 2.0 broke. I'm a hobbyist when it comes to programming, but I've never dealt with luascript before, and taking a quick look at the two files used for the mod and comparing them side by side with the original .lua's, there's quite a bit done there. So it doesn't seem a simple matter.
  3. Ugggh. Seems the new update breaks the VAC ATC Mod. Radios won't show up at all for me. Anyone else? Removing the mod fixes it.
  4. Nothing? Is there anyone who understands the lua files and where the information about the jtac's are stored?
  5. If you are talking about the Georgian campaign missions included with DCS, then you don't get any confirmation, other than they disappear from the radio menus after you select them. And it doesn't matter which radio you use them on (i just use the / key). So, if you choose the sead/cap/cas and then bring up the menu again and they are no longer in there, then you called them.
  6. I created a script for Voice Attack that tunes the radios in the A-10C (can't remark on other aircraft, I only own the A10C,) and it works pretty nice so I thought I'd share it. I use it as part of a larger voice suite I'm developing (Inspired by VAICOM, but requires no radio buttons to be mapped), but this is just the radio part. If you know Voice Attack, then you should pick this up fairly quickly. Place the folder from my zip file into your VA /apps folder and import the profile. You will need to setup keys for your radios so VA can tune them. I have them set in the profile as follows: VHF AM 10mhz Decrease Lalt + Lshift + Num- VHF AM 10mhz Increase Lalt + Lshift + Num+ VHF AM 1mhz Decrease Lctrl + Lshift + Num- VHF AM 1mhz Increase Lctrl + Lshift + Num+ ILS Freq KHZ Decrease Lalt + Lcrtl + Num- ILS Freq KHZ Increase Latl + Lcrtl + Num+ ILS Freq MHZ Decrease Lshift + Lwin + Num- ISL Freq MHZ Increase Lshift + Lwin + Num+ You can of course set them to whatever you want, but you'll have to change them in the script as well. This assumes the plane loads with the default AM and ILS freqs, 124.0 and 108.95 respectively. I'm guessing there are missions that load your plane with different settings, but I've not seen that yet myself so.....I guess I'll figure that out if/when it's a problem. I only utilize the VHF AM and the ILS radio. It's used for tuning the AM radio to airfields as well as the ILS radio if an ILS exists for the field. I might add the other radios and TACAN at a later time, but I really don't find much use for those. They are easy enough to tune/use, especially the FM for JTAC. But the airfields and ILS mean you don't need to look them up on the kneepad. It's use is simple. Say "Radio <airfield>" and it will tune the AM first and the ILS if needed. And also print to the VA screen the ILS rwy so you can set it down on the the heading thingy (too technical?) :smartass: So, "radio batumi" will tune both the tower freq and the ILS for Batumi. When you have a field with two ILS, it tunes the primary and then leaves a message for tuning the secondary. Can't think of anything else, so if you want, give it a try. It's pretty slick and saves me a lot of headaches looking up freqs and twisting around in the pit to turn knobs, etc. https://www.dropbox.com/s/mjecjk7i73dv4h1/DCS_Radio.rar?dl=1
  7. I've been getting crashes while in the middle of a mission. What happens is everything freezes and then after a minute I get a message saying the graphics driver has "successfully" reset. And then DCS World exits. Here's the Error from the Windows Event viewer. Faulting application name: DCS.exe, version: 1.5.5.58891, time stamp: 0x5824e2ec Faulting module name: d3d11.dll, version: 6.2.9200.16570, time stamp: 0x5153b56b Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x00000000000f2d72 Faulting process id: 0x2204 Faulting application start time: 0x01d245fccd096a3e Faulting application path: h:\DCS World\bin\DCS.exe Faulting module path: C:\Windows\system32\d3d11.dll Report Id: 65e2b08f-b1f2-11e6-bffa-408d5c8bbb04 Specs are AMD Phenom II X4 955 Nvidia GeForce GTX750ti 16gigs memory Windows 7 anything else I can provide? 8. I've tried a couple different ways, but the mission file doesn't seem to be sure to contain the info (maybe it does, I'm not looking for it correctly?) and the mission description leaves the inclusion of the JTAC's up to the creator so that's no good. So I thought, surely it's available in the radio right? So in JTAC.lua, there's a function getJTACList(). I'm not versed in lua scripting, but I understand programming, so I figured it would be simple to have it written to a file. But I'm not having any luck. What I've tried: local file = io.open("JTAC.txt", "w") file:write(getJTACList) <-- this returns a list of JTAC's file:flush() file:close() which is what I got from a search on lua scripting i/o, but it doesn't seem to work. What happens is this renders the entire radio unusable, so I'm guessing what I thought would be simple, simply is not. So, anyone willing to show me a way I could get a list of JTAC's and write it to a file (and their radio freq would be cool also, although not as important to me).
  9. Great. It really would make things clearer. Even with the highlighting on the time line, it's easy to change the object and lose yourself.
  10. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=177017 The CDU program also has the UFC, swipe up/down to switch....
  11. I'm talking about the Flight Log showing the events of the file. It would be more than useful to be able to highlight yourself (or other people/objects, ie, your wingman) so that all your actions are easily shown or stand out over all others, making it much easier to find those actions in the list.
  12. Is there a way to highlight/select yourself in the list so you can see your actions more clearly? Sometimes with all the other stuff happening it can be difficult to see things (firing missiles, etc) you do.
  13. This is part of what I was saying above about the missions having vague goals. There's nothing in the mission descriptions detailing that. It's almost as if the designer assumes you know to do that. But as a new user still learning, I had no idea and made for a very confusing campaign start.
  14. I just started this campaign for the first time, and I'm having issues as well. Sometimes the JTAC respond, sometimes not. I've never had the Other units respond (maybe they just don't anyways?). In general, the missions seem kind of vague in terms of the goals. And if you do get the JTAC to give you targets, I've had other units then attack those targets, which is frustrating.
  15. Ok, I have this working now, here's how in case anyone needs to know. In the Export.lua file this line needs to be commented out. It should be right at the top of the file. os.setlocale("ISO-8559-1", "numeric") simply put two dashes "--" in front of that line and save. Read this fix with the Helios stuff, seems the new update is causing problems.
  16. I've been trying to get this CDU program for Androids working, and I'm simply clueless I think. I'm guessing I just don't know enough about how to export maybe. You can get it from a couple different places, there's just the app from the Play store, or someone has bundled it up with the Export.lua and put it up here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/2132690/ I'll attach the Export.lua below as well. For 1.5.5 this doesn't work at all. For 2.0, I can get it to display the CDU screen, but none of the buttons work. I do have the correct IP:port set in the lua file. So, I'm just curious if anyone else has this working properly and can point out why? Or anyone knowledgeable in this area can point me on the right direction on what I need to learn to get this working. I'd love to have a CDU on my tablet, but so far no good. Export.lua
  17. Thanks guys. One thing I've read is moving the AIM's to the other wing (removing the ALQ, it was said the jammer doesn't work and I've noticed that also) to help remove them from the right side. Any thoughts on that? Another thing since we are talking about the TGP. There's the direction indicator in the upper right hand corner of the screen. It has the "N" and I assume the arrow points to the North, correct? But there's also another line crossing the "N"...what is that?
  18. I'm noticing the same thing Greyman reported, the pause key isn't being recognized by VA. Not sure, I don't read anything in the VA update that seems would effect that. Rightstuff: that file definitely exists. Unless somehow your install changes that somehow. But it has nothing to do with the pause key issue.
  19. When you tell them to Anchor, do they anchor where they are at the moment, or where you are? Edit: NVM, a search of the manual states they orbit *their* current position.
  20. The reason it stops the initial zoom is because you are already zoomed all the way out when entering the cockpit (I believe anyways). Interesting stuff. Not sure it's what I'm looking for, but something to look into anyways.
  21. As I continue learning the A-10C, one thing I need to work on is keeping targets in view with the TGP. Normally the TGP is placed on the right wing, so I'd assume you are best off keeping your targets off your right wing. But what other tips/tricks/hints do you more experienced A10 pilots have for keeping your targets in view with your TGP? I could really use some training up on this one.
  22. Could you simply share your .lua file? Or just cut/paste the relevant part maybe?
  23. I've been having this problem also. Here's one thing I learned tho: if they do the "Affirm, rejoin, RTB" loop and run away.....it's because you incorrectly told them either to attack something that doesn't exist (ie: you say tanks when it's sam) or to attack something with a weapon they don't have. My problem recently has been with them affirming the attack, and then just following me around for a minute or so before they "join, RTB". I've no idea what's going on there...they have the correct target and they have the ordinance to engage with. I know I'm issuing the correct orders because they followed them earlier in the mission.
  24. Speedbrake and airbrake are the same.
