  1. Count me in on the Mig 21! MORG
  2. My advice for hunting with the Mig 21 ... know the aircraft radar & weapons systems, stay low, when you get locked hit the deck at full afterburner and don't look back. I find about 80% of the time you'll loose whoever is after you. Just understand you will die a lot ... especially at first. Good hunting! MORG
  3. Where do you find the new Open Beta version? I found it: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/dcs_world_open_beta/
  4. How do you update? Is it automatic?
  5. Will there be Mig 21 slots? MORG
  6. Great video Hadwell! Keep 'em coming. MORG
  7. How do you turn the trk files into a video? MORG
  8. Way to go boomerang10! I love listening to the fighter guys go ballistic when they find out a lowly Mig 21 just took them out. MORG
  9. Growing up, I had a neighbor who flew F-4E's in the USAF. We talked about bombing and he called it Kentucky Windage ... specific dive angle, specific altitude, and specific airspeed. They used charts for specific types of bombs to get their dive info. MORG
  10. 2 kills on 17 MAR & 2 kills today ... I think they were all A-10's. Can't wait to get my TrackIR & HOTAS setup I just bought! MORG
  11. I like the S-24B for ground attack. It's more or less a fire & forget weapon, fires in pairs, and large enough warhead to do damage. I'm still working with the Grom but I don't like having to follow it in to the target. MORG
  12. Most excellent tsb47! Got to be the F-4E Phantom II but I do like the sound of an F-5E. MORG
  13. Changing the subject ... anyone do any air to ground with the Mig 21 in multiplayer? MORG
  14. I'm interested in all of it ... or what's left. MORG
  15. Call me delusional if you must, but I still get a kick in the pants when I shoot anything down with the Mig 21. Unrealistic? Maybe so, but in the DCS World the Mig 21 is still at a disadvantage and in my little world I'm having fun with it! MORG
  16. To follow up with what Hadwell said, when you get a kill in the Mig 21 (especially against a fighter) you know you have done something good! The plane is harder to fly (especially land) and the systems & weapons are older. I get great satisfaction with a Mig 21 kill. Not the same shooting an AMRAAM. MORG
  17. I would suggest the same as xxJohnxx, read the post he linked to. Hadwell, ttaylor, and others have gotten really good at hunting modern fighters in the Mig 21. Also, watch their YouTube videos. You can learn a lot seeing how they fight. Remember, you will die a lot before it becomes "easy."
  18. Nice job tsb47! It took me a lot of flights before I got my first kill. It gets easier the more you fly and sometimes it helps to be in the right place at the right time! MORG
  19. 2 more kills today plus 1 damaged A10 on the 104th this afternoon. I had 2 other aircraft locked but couldn't get the missile to shoot. Hard for me to see them but I did make a gun run on 1 A10 but missed. Lots of fun! MORG
  20. 3 more kills tonight on the 104th. Found a pack of A10's. If I would have had TrackIR I would have gotten more kills. Too hard to see using the hat key on my stick. I want to record my flights. Can I do that from the trk files saved to my computer? If so, how? Thanks, MORG
  21. Willys, Thanks, that fixed my problem! MORG
  22. Where can I find "repair install"
  23. WinterH, Great story! I've had a few similar sorties when I first began flying the Mig 21 due mostly to me fumbling the switchology and not having something setup correctly. I do remember flying down low in a valley and having an F-15C fly directly across my path at my altitude. I turned into trail and had my R60 tracking when I decided to IFF him ... sure enough it was a friendly! I knew it was too good to be true.
  24. Jorge, Great day of flying! I need to start following you and Hadwell around on the 104th. I'll be glad to have any leftovers you might throw my way LOL! How do you pull up that screen in multiplay? MORG
  25. At first I flew around with my radar off about 99% of the time. I could fly all over the place and never get caught but I also never got a kill. Now, I fly with the radar on much of the time. It's true I get killed more but I also do more killing. It's all part of the learning process. MORG
