Can someone explain the warning system used on the forum. I have not seen anybody but me with warnings on their reps:(...I have no idea why I got the warnings either...Is there a site manager I could contact to find out why I have this negative reputation?

Rehtnap: I hear you......It is hard to get a good "lock" on the appropriate phrase that finds the answers we look for (although getting a lock within the Mav's in this sim can also be tough, what's with the mode change, at least for me) As I ranted on about, I think that ED should consider more Tutorials about the more complex issues with this great study sim. I am the product of a Government training education ( Ex military, retired RCMP) and I like a training regimen that has a " show and tell" aspect like the Tutorials. My son is now a Doctor and his whole training is based on that principal...so if you can learn to open up a heart and fix it by step by step watching it should be good enough, as it is with the US Air Force training their pilots. To think that we can learn the systems from simply reading the manual and then getting (sometimes) input from the forum from fellow trainees doesn't seem like the best way to go...maybe it's a money issue, I don't know but I do know it is tough for an old (er) workhorse like myself...pity mode off:noexpression:

rehtnap I see where my search went wrong...used 1009 :doh:...you did read further when I admitted I am 62 :D...chock it up to a senior's moment......in any event I do think it is hard to find specific information in the ED forums

Slacker The Grid T37 or T38 will show on the New Waypoint page I am trying to create? Which LSK would it be. I have never noticed this T37 or T38 when trying to set up a new waypoint.

I tried searching on google and appending this forum and it does work but is a little combersome...however the advantage is other sites with good info also pop up so that would be a plus....I am trying to only use the advanced search feature because at least i can control some of the perimiters in the search....Also, I get annoyed by the people who always reply to a post asking a question with RTFM and Search the Forums. I have read the manual but their are too many assumptions within the manual that you understand all of the preceeding pages of the manual which I don't and as this thread says I have a problem using the inhouse search engine. I guess my age is showing (62) but I for the first time in my Flight Simming life I just don't always get the concept by reading the manual.....I really like the tutorial Training System used in past sims by ED. I know that they have some Tutorials in this sim but really they need to cover more of the advanced features on the CDU, JTAC. The Weapons Tutorials and basic flight ones are good too...(although as a 20 plus year simmer not too necessary for me):music_whistling: Must also shout out to Tyger Headspace and others that have produced excellent Videos that have also turned on a few lightbulbs for me.:thumbup: Thanks for the help guys and I will keep trying to absorb the info from these forums and plug away at the manual.:)

Iceman: What Page do you change the Grid on....Is it system/Ins/position? and if so how do you get to that page?

late: if I search the entire site I get 20 plus but if I search just dcs a-10c I only get this thread.

mvsgas: When I just tried a search, knowing that Wags was the author and using 1009 I get a nothing found response...So my question is, what do I need to put on my search line to get positive searches...I go crazy trying to find information on this Website...I can never find the info I am looking for, I can not find a post that outlines the search methods to be used either. So I would appreciate someone steering me to a tutorial on searching this site. Thank-you

Iceman: So is this a bug or just a situation because the Map we fly on straddles two grids.

I have a problem doing searches. For example...if I try to search for news of New patch 1.1.0.9 I get nothing found...How is that possible? I know that Wags made a post on that so what am I missing?

Iceman: Also, going back to your first post just now, the notice that Mission removed is now gone and the missions are back....When did you change the missions?

Iceman I can get the first JTAC but everyone after that the "targets are 300+ miles away.

STP Dragon I had to force MS Defender to allow the server to run....I read more of training thread and see that there is no radio communication to ATC ? Also some problem with response from Jtac? so how can I fly this training mission.

calys: what are you trying to tell me? I am looking for help connecting on multiplayer what does your post mean? Are you trying to be funny?

STP: I have tried to log on and try your mission on multiple-player but I am have g trouble with my anti-virus (Microsoft defender) letting me play....do I have to turn off my anti virus in Order to use this?

Anybody have a simple JTAC mission I can use for Training? Tried to use Iceman's for a few days without success and I just checked back to that thread and found out it was broken? thanks for any help:)

Iceman: I have been trying to use that daytime mission for the past 5 days and couldn't get it to work. I justed looked back here to get some help and now I find it is broken?:(

Vespar: I have the Dragon training missions installed but have not had sucess with them. His videos do not really show you step by step. I have not seen the video from Zamboni....Will have a look. Thanks for your response.

I posted a question about getting a Tutorial about the whole subject of JTAC on the Training Missions Thread but got no response so I am asking here. Is there ever going to be more ingame Training Tutorials? I have read the manual on JTAC, TAD setups, hooking etc and I just don't get it. I have been an avid flight simmer since the 1980 going back to the Comadore 64 so I have followed the development of flight sim complexity. Up until now I have always found resources within the structure of the game to figure out how everything works but this sim has so many sub-structures that just are not well explained in the manual...In fact the manual makes too many assumptions about the readers understanding. The JTAC proceedure is not set out in a step by step manner anywhere that I can find within the Manual and I think that there should be a Tutorial produced by ED explaining the step by step process. I have searched the ED forums and not found a comprehensive explaination of how to sucessfully use JTAC. I have also searched Youtube for video. I have found some useful info but not enough for me to master this subject. Any resource help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Is there any possibility of a training mission for this aspect of flying the A-10? I have read the forums and manual on this task but I can't seem to translate what I am reading into using jtac. I don't understand the hooking aspect and I have tried to find a good you-tube video on it without success. I did see a video about the first easy instant action mission but didn't make note of the contributor's name and several searches on you-tube failed to find it again. anybody got a mission or video that makes this task clear? Thanks in advance

I did not know that info about SLI. I changed to 1024 every frame and now I can see!!!!!! no wonder I couldn't lock on with Mavs. Thanks Quirk. S
