  1. Hello all, (Norcat here) Holidays are coming and my kiddos would like to upgrade my 3yr old X-55 Rhino. There are too many options and unknowns. I need some help in determining the best route to go. I am a DCS only guy, aiming to mainly fly the Hornet and Tomcat when released. I’d like to get a new throttle/stick set or just a stick. No rudder pedals though. The twist grip is perfect for me and I don’t really have the room for pedals or desire to fly with them. Options 1. Thrustmaster Warthog: Awesome stick (A10/F16). Future F-18 available and future F-14 Grip from VKB. No Twist..... bummer. Throttle is set for A10 use and frankly pretty cool other wise. I can see it as an AV-8 stand in with the FOV as a nozzle setting. Adapting it to an MCG Pro should be just as easy. 2. VKB: MCG Pro. Love the Russian sticks and I am intrigued by HEATBLUR teaming up with them. Will they become the new standard in Sticks? Any one of the Russian machines would feel more immersive with it and VKB is making the F-14 grip. They have a twist adapter as well. Perfect! No throttle yet.......so I will use my Rhino. Will have access to all future sticks on there except for the A10/16 grip (unless TM will sell it separately as a grip some day...) Do I go Warthog and suffer no twist (Rudder) and use the keyboard...gross. LOL Get a stick & throttle that is really sweet with a lift for fuel cutoff (really fun) and enough buttons too work any aircraft. ~Does the TM have a twist grip Option? Can’t find one on line. Do I go VKB and get a twist MCG PRO and future VKB F-14 grip, then mount the F18 grip with the Warthog Adapter? Leave my self open to a VKB throttle? This is a truly a ‘first world problem’ (not a real problem) and my X-55 is still great. Just don’t like the spring and non uniform force rates plus its a bit too big for my hand. I think I am leaning toward VKB since they have a twist option for the stick and it simply looks awesome. Would be fun to try Russian style hardware and see the difference in operation. VKB cost is near same as the Warthog package and that’s without a throttle.....bummer. I described the options to my wife when she let her guard down while having a coffee yesterday. Lol Being married to a pilot she is used to flying talk and frankly kept up really well too, but in the end she has suggested I reach out to you guys. So, what do you think? Warthog Throttle and Stick or VKB MCG Pro (on a gunfighter) with twist adapter? :joystick: Have a happy flying day!
  2. Great looking CF-5! I'll fly her tonight, can say "Eh" on the radio and everything now. Lol Nice work Jocko. ;)
  3. I am anxious to try it out. I really do enjoy just flying a bit of IFR sometimes. ;) love the detail you guys have put into the 101. Keep up the amazing work. ;)
  4. Pre order is in. Got too excited and ordered through DCS....will grab the next planes from Heat Blur. So pumped to fly the Viggen and do some good low level nav stuff. Can't wait!!
  5. Awesome to see the Viggen in operation tonight, loved the event. I am pretty keen on becoming a capable SAAB driver and looking for a 'next to real fighter pilot' type operation. If anyone knows of a group that will take the Viggen to the max, shoot me a note I'd love to join a virtual sqn.
  6. Hi ya. I'd love to have the chance. I am teaching my 12yr daughter to become a pilot. I fly for a living but have never had her up. Arghh...biz jets don't really allow for it. Lol I have flown the C-101 with her on my x-55 but think this would be the perfect set up for more Aviojet flying. Will be amazing to be able to do some father daughter form and eventually some LIFT together. So far she wants to be an 18 driver for the RCAF. Will be great fun to have played a small part in helping her learn to fly and cut her future fighter pilot teeth. Merry Christmas 476th and all DCS drivers out there!!!!
  7. Thank you for the update. Anxious to get home and take the 101 back up. Such a fun little machine. ;)

    Formation

Hi Whiteside, I am looking for all the same things. Formation realism. I fly in the VA server and am always looking to form up with others. Callsign: NORCAT. Fly the MIG-15/21 F-15 C-101 Mig-15 is kinda tricky though lots of engine lag and thick canopy frame, F-15 is the easiest. I fly for a living too (G200) but never allowed formation...lol so this is my fun time. If u see me online say hi, I'd be happy to fly with you.
  9. Vivoune...wow. Looks awesome. I was thinking a Snowbird would be really cool the other day and to see you've done it, well done!! I am really looking forward to flying this skin. Looks great!
  10. Happy Christmas LN. Life can throw curve balls at odd times and I know you guys are hard at work to make it all happen. I'm sold on LN and your products. Best developers out there!! Take time to rest your minds and get back with your families. My Christmas money will wait Happily for the future Viggen 'course' date. ;)
  11. Super!! Thanks Sel94. i'll check it out when I get back to the hangar in a few days.....basement iMac. Haha ;) Really appreciate the fast reply too. Can't wait to go mig'ing again.
  12. Hi all, first post ever. ;) Got the amazing Mig-21 for my bday and couldn't be happier. Finally an old school fighter sim that is as real as it gets. Absolutely love it! I am having a bit of trouble with ARC navigation though. Here are the snags 1. ARC Needle tail points to station 2. Needle will not indicate station passage I have done the ARC training a handful of times and verified my position with dead reckoning along the three bodies of water. I have selected beacon 5 and reset beacon 3 a couple of times and recieve a good morse code each time but only after cycling will it note station passage. If I don't select station 5 it will never show passage at 3 and I'll arrive at the mountains. (I always zoom in so I can't see outside, more fun) Thinking that it is a bug In the sim. I have also tried flying basic NDB rules, desired to the head plus some and tail to desired to the tail plus some. The needle has frozen and remained fixed at 12o'clock during a few of those turns and presents only jerky motion of a few degrees afterward. So....hope someone has the answers. P.s Leatherneck, I have wanted to be a fighter pilot since I was three. Didn't get the chance, played in the infantry for a while then got out to chase airplanes. Worked hard and fly a G200 for a living now, but still turn into a little kid with excitement each time I see a fighter, especially old school machines. Thank you for making the most amazing Mig. I feel like I am in the 21 each time I fly her. Finally I am a fighter pilot!!!! LOL LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
