For the record, I am only looking for a script that will guide players to a target. I do not need something for a human to work, or for the script to spawn enemies.

I am looking for a script I can use to simulate GCI. I understand there is no GCI built-in, but perhaps we can use AWACS, but without the AWACS aircraft but an EWR installation instead? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

THANK YOU!

I could swear there was a way to set system failures in the mission editor, but I cannot find the option. I do see the Random Failures option under the Mission Options screen, but I would like to set specific options. Is this possible? Thanks.

In this mission, Blue flies 6*F-14B out of Nellis with the purpose of overflying Nav Point India, just a few miles NW of Rachel. Red flies 4*F-16C aggressor out of Tonopah. The Blue F-14 that overflies India becomes the "flagbearer." The flagbearer must also overfly Nellis to win. If the flagbearer is destroyed, Red wins the exercise. The "F-16C Aggressor skin pack V1.3" by Filip Hoff is recommended to dress up your Aggressors, but the download is optional. That file is available on the DCS User Files section of the site if you search for it. There are two files attached here. The first allows you to fly Blue, the second Red, as an aggressor. Otherwise, both missions are mostly the same with some small variations. Good luck! Feedback welcome. Capture the Flag SP F-16C Aggressor v1.0.miz Capture the Flag SP F-14B Tomcat v1.0.miz

Blue flies 6*F-14B out of Nellis with the purpose of overflying Nav Point India, just NW of Rachel. Red flies 4*F-16C out of Tonopah with the purpose of denying Blue Nav Point India, or of intercepting the "flagbearer" before they can overfly Nellis. The mission is also decided if all aircraft of one side are destroyed. The F-16's fly independently, with the F-14's flying in pairs. Feedback welcome. Capture the Flag Multiplayer v1.0.miz

You are Ibis Leader, and your mission is to lead a pair of trainee pilots on a training mission. The mission is simple, get up, fly your waypoints, and land. It begins just before dawn, so you will be taking off in the dark and landing in the daylight. Mission duration is around 45 minutes. This mission is a TRAINING FLIGHT, not a combat mission. You will simply lead two rookie pilots on a circuit over the Persian Gulf coast then land back at your base. Enjoy this relaxing experience! Players will need the M2000C and the Persian Gulf map. Get it here - https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=255905 Please let me know what you think after you give it a try or two!

When I ask jets of any sort to make a bombing run, they invariably turn into bumblebees and perform an elaborate dance before running in and releasing their munitions. However, I am interested in learning how to make a jet make a single, high-speed pass over a large target, and drop a payload without dancing around. All business, no belly dancing. For the moment, I am gaming the editor, and having aircraft simply overfly the target, and then they exit a target zone, the target is set to explode. But there's no bomb dropping, just straight flying by the attacker. Is it possible to have the AI make a straight, high-speed, precision bombing pass? Thanks!

Error when loading mission
TheHighwayman replied to TheHighwayman's topic in User Created Missions General
Yeah, I've downloaded and installed everything separately too, and the mission does not work. Every other mission does, so now I suspect the mission is just too complicated and one or more of the mods has been broken by an update. -
Error when loading mission
TheHighwayman replied to TheHighwayman's topic in User Created Missions General
It's there, in the folder called "main." I did update it just now, but I still have the issue. :-) -
I am trying to fly the following mission. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3306937/ However, I am having trouble getting it to load. I have followed the installation instructions as I understand them. But I am sure I am missing something, possibly obvious. It may be the mods I installed, or the instructions are incomplete? I cannot load the mission, even with everything installed. I get the following error: Need modules for load mission: Pilot Ground USN-Deckcrew VPC Object by voc & virpil.com Alligator by AutoMod Gun and Patrol_Boats alligator1171HeliPad Note, I used the links included in the description and have the following installed in my Mods/Tech folder: Alligator 1171 Alligator 1171 helipad Civil_Objects CombinedArms DESERT_FARP Gun and Patrol_Boats main Pilot Ground US Navy Equipment USNF 95 Mod Pack WWII Iowa Class 3 Battleships WWII Units

PLEASE READ THESE NOTES BEFORE INSTALLING THIS MISSION! This is a BORING mission, or will be for some. It is not a "shoot em up" mission. It is an escort mission that lasts for over an hour and requires you to follow Air Force One around the Nellis Range. The greatest challenge you will face will be fuel management, and sipping your gas to land back at Nellis once released from escort duty. The mission features random triggers which fires one of four permutations (there are basically four missions in one, and the one you get each time will be random). At some point well into the mission, something will happen but that doesn't mean you will be cleared to shoot. Players will need the following to play this mission: - Civil Aircraft Mod (which will allow various airliners to appear, including Air Force One). - F16C Viper Module - Nevada Map You will also need patience and a willingness to fly a long, boring mission. Feedback is welcome, please let me know what you think after play! Watch that fuel gauge! Presidential Tour.miz

Trying to get escorts to STAY with their assignment
TheHighwayman replied to TheHighwayman's topic in Mission Editor
It works! I think it's ready. I am attaching the final version here. If any of you wish to give it a test, please go ahead. If you find it boring, do what I did and accelerate time between Hoover Cap and the flyover of Area 51. THANK YOU! Presidential Tour.miz -

I have made the changes described above and will give it a test. I'll report back. -
Trying to get escorts to STAY with their assignment
TheHighwayman replied to TheHighwayman's topic in Mission Editor
Thank you for the tips. CHEVY should stay close to Air Force One, unless a bogey closes to within 20nm, then CHEVY is supposed to automatically go Weapons Free. I created a moving zone and set a trigger to go from Weapons Hold to Weapons Free in the event a red unit comes within that zone. However, the odds of that happening are pretty much zero, since the player should be dealing with the threat long before then. Therefore, CHEVY is mostly for decoration, but I would like them to have some usefulness. But ultimately, that's just a preference. Worst case, I can lobotomize them and have them follow Air Force One as window-dressing. -
Invisible to all but AWACS option
TheHighwayman replied to TheHighwayman's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Ah, I have been unclear. The close escort aircraft are supposed to stay with another aircraft, not with me. Sorry for the misunderstanding. -
I built a mission which requires the player to perform an intercept on a bogey while a companion flight remains on close escort. However, once the RED bogey spawns, the close escort aircraft break off to intercept too. I attempted to solve this by making the bogey invisible, but then AWACS does not see it and provide you with the vector you need. There are a number of ways to solve this problem, Neutral Coalition would be pretty cool. However, the easiest way to fix this would be to create an "Invisible to all but AWACS" option. Any chance this could be done up and thrown into a future update? Thanks all for a wonderful sim!

Howdy, I am having trouble getting the AI to stick to its assignment. In this mission, the player (FORD) has to escort Air Force One around Nellis. It is a long and boring mission. A real snoozer that lasts over an hour. However, there are four versions in which something happens. In three out of the four cases, what happens is fairly innocuous, but in all cases, FORD must perform an intercept and merge with a bogey. To make the intercept process easier, I have included AWACS, and made the bogeys Team RED. However, once they spawn, CHEVY, which is supposed to stick to Air Force One like a D.C. lobbyist, instead breaks off and pursues the bogey with an aim to kill. My solution was to make the bogeys invisible, but then AWACS does not detect them and won't vector you to them. So, I'm between a rock-and-a-hard place. We really need an "invisible to all but AWACS" option. Any ideas? I have attached the mission for fun (read: boredom). You can play it if you like! It is otherwise complete. I don't expect the finished product will be popular, since it's not a "shoot 'em up." Still, some might dig the hour of boredom with five minutes of terror thing (in 1 out of 4 permutations). Thanks!
