  1. M01 - Desertistan Welcome - Ideal for either single-player, either side, or miltiplayer! (Some light editing may be required, MP = set desired aircraft to client, SP = set desired aircraft to player.) - Players are introduced to Sea Eagle II, and to "Desertistan" and the situation on the ground. - Players will work to maintain a UN No-Fly Zone, or to threaten it... - Both sides have a "secret objective" that will challenge them. - Ideally, this mission ends without anyone shooting...that can't be fun, can it be? But how skillfully you play it will determine if you keep the peace, or start a war. - Recommend you fly as "Snowman" (RED) or "Iceman" (BLUE). Sea Eagle II - M01 - Desertistan Welcomev2.2a.miz
  2. This is the official download thread for the Sea Eagle II Campaign. All missions will be posted here along with any updates to the files. About Sea Eagle II: Sea Eagle II is a fictional exercise for the Navy conducted on the Nellis range. Instructors fly the A-4, F-5, and the F-18, and possibly other aircraft as "adversaries" against students in the F-14. In this campaign, the instructors and students will face off over the fictional nation of "Desertistan" across 10 single-player missions. These missions are created so players can fly any position on either side as a complete single-player experience. However, both sides have recommended slots to play (RED = Snowman, BLUE = Iceman). Players can also set aircraft to "client" and fly these missions multiplayer. The only thing the missions lack are voiceovers, but radio items provide all the information and flavor you need, and display with a short audible cue, so you do not miss anything important. All missions were tested using Oculus Rift. There are older versions of the first two missions out there, but I have overhauled them substantially. This thread is an attempt to organize everything into one, official place. If you have an older version, please update it for the best experience. Questions, comments, critiques, help, and special requests are ALL WELCOME. I do not claim to be perfect, or that I am at Baltic Dragon level, but I am learning and I feel these missions are fun and worth sharing. I hope you enjoy flying them as much as I have. In plan to release a new mission every several days or so, at least 1-2 per week, up to the specified ten. I have mapped out 1-4, and built 1-2 as of this moment. 3 is in the works. REQUIRED ASSETS: - Nevada Map - F-14 by Heatblur - A4 freeware mod, see: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=224989 OPTIONAL ASSETS: - Soundtrack to "Top Gun," although the included music by Meteor is awesome! - Leather Jacket - Aviator shades - Divorce attorney - Hot blonde civilian MISSION LIST: M01 - Desertistan Welcome (v2.2a) M02 - Keeping up Relations (v2.1a) M03 - Angry Sun (v2.0a) M04 - Flight from Desertistan (unreleased)
  3. Mission 01 - This mission has been updated to version 2.2. It features many simplifications, fixes and improvements. Those with earlier versions should delete the old and use the latest version for the best experience. At present, the mission is set up for single-player, but can be converted to multiplayer by setting the aircraft you want humans to control to "Client." As single-player, you may play blue or red by switching the aircraft you wish to fly to "Player." BE SURE TO switch the default "Player" aircraft to AI control. "Average" for BLUE and "Expert" for RED is recommended. Feedback and questions welcome.
  4. UPDATED 3.19.19 Version 2.2 Please use the latest version, as it features significant improvements over 2.1.
  5. I will be making some more optimizations tonight, and will update the file. Changes will include some proper end mission triggers and notifications, so players know when the mission is actually over. Right now, there is only one end mission trigger that does not always get fired. I need to direct aircraft to land once a preliminary trigger is activated. I will see about finding a radio sound to provide an audible notice to pilots when a message has appeared. A busy pilot might not see the message if they are looking behind them or elsewhere. Any other suggestions, add here, and I will make a decision about them tonight. I have another two missions complete that need a little more work, and I will post them as soon as they are polished a bit more. The campaign will have ten missions in all.
  6. Additional missions coming very soon. UPDATE 3.20.19, Mission 02 being overhauled, almost done. Needs testing. Expected publication of M02 - v2.0 = Friday. Done. 3.22.19. See: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=236698
  7. Missions now posted here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=236698 REQUIRED: - A-4 MOD (Freeware) - Nevada Map - F-14 (by Heatblur) CURRENT VERSION = 2.2 (UPDATED 3.19.19) -Play with labels OFF, including dots, for most realistic experience. Dots/labels may make the mission too easy for some players. You may play this mission as either side, all you need to do is set the aircraft you wish to fly to "PLAYER." Make sure if you set an aircraft to player, you set the former "player" to AI controlled. This mission is also playable as a multiplayer experience, and should be fun for all. Simply use the mission editor set all the aircraft you wish humans to fly to "Client." It is recommended you play as "Snowman" for RED or "Iceman & Slider" for BLUE, for the most fun. This is the first mission in a story-driven campaign; part exercise, part scenario. The briefings are critical. There are full briefings and triggers for both sides. Please read them. Please let me know if anything can be changed or improved. This mission is different from your ordinary "shoot em up" and ideally does not involve combat, just the enforcement of a no-fly zone. But, shooting is quite possible, and there's a few twists in this mission and in missions to come... Sea Eagle II - M01 - Desertistan Welcomev2.2.miz
  8. THANK YOU for the feedback, I appreciate learning this.
  9. UPDATE 3.18.19 I have greatly simplified Mission no. 1 and will simplify no. 2 in the same fashion. In working with my template, I found I created quite a bit of extra work for myself, and made testing a hassle. I will update the missions as I am able. Meanwhile, the mission revised FIRST mission is good to go for multiplayer, with briefings for both sides. The host will need to edit the mission to make client aircraft for all players. Otherwise, the mission is now quite playable from a single-player perspective!
  10. ALL MISSIONS NOW POSTED HERE: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=236698 They are built for BOTH single and multiplayer. NOTE: Mission 01 - Desertistan Welcome - has been substantially simplified, updated, and reworked. Mission 02 - Keeping Up Relations - has been removed; it is getting an overhaul. Mission 03 - has not been shared yet, but I have it close to ready. Mission 04 - Will be built over the weekend... Keep coming back for updates. Mission 01 - This mission has been updated to version 2.2. You can find it here for the moment. Eventually, this will be moved, along with others, to the official DCS "User Files" area. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=236093 It features many simplifications, fixes and improvements. Best played with ALL labels, including dots, OFF. ************************** I am attaching two missions I have built with the aim of someday playing them in multiplayer. If you like them and choose to give them a try, please message me so I can fly with you. I don't mind which side or aircraft I am assigned. They are built as single missions, but can easily be converted for the purpose (I believe). They will have to be edited so various slots are set to client (or so I believe that is what needs to be done). Otherwise, these missions are playable in single-player form. All players will need the A-4 freeware mod installed. The mission also features the F-14, the F-18, and the F-5. The second mission has a UH1 helo. All could be playable. The missions are part of the Sea Eagle exercises, which are a fictional, Top Gun-like exercise in Nevada. Both Red and Blue descriptions are included. Previously (and still the case in mission no. 2) there are peculiarities unique to the mission, such as "container zones" over Groom and Nellis, and that fact damaged units are "out." The briefing will explain their purpose. HOWEVER, following extensive testing, I am editing these features out, as they are too much work and detrimental to the gameplay. At this time, the missions do not necessarily feature combat, but that is because the first two missions simulate the start of a UN operation where the two sides are trying to avoid bloodshed. Nonetheless, both sides are on edge and a single slip could lead to shooting. In the event of a weapon release during the first mission, it everything will turn to shooting rather quickly. So, while the mission features no combat by design, it can end up in combat if someone pulls their trigger for any reason. (This will also be edited in mission 2 soon). The justification for such a mission is simple, most of the missions flown by pilots do not involve shooting things, just the potential to do so. In multiplayer mode, both sides could easily change this to suit themselves without any need to edit anything -- just lock on and shoot! But the AI will shoot back! In single mode, the player is "Iceman" and will fly two reconnaissance missions deep inside enemy territory. Or, you could play as "Snowman" and try to defend Desertistan from the Americans. Feel free to switch this up, or fly another flight if you like. Again, just edit the mission, you won't hurt my feelings. I welcome comments, questions and feedback, as well as help developing the rest of this series. I enjoy coming up with unique scenarios and stories, and I hope for my mission editing skills to grow as I learn more. Thanks, and I hope these work and you enjoy them. If not, I welcome feedback and advice.
  11. SOLVED Nevermind, found my answer. Jester menu allows me to "INS Go Now," which end the process.
  12. Dear Heatblur, Thank you for building this amazing module. I have had more fun with DCS than I have ever had. The attention to detail, the range of options, Jester AI, the voiceover work, and on top of that, the music, holy cow! The music was a genius touch, and a fun feature; it's not just the cherry on my sundae, but the cream as well! I have been flying almost non-stop for two days, and it is time for me to live a balanced life and do other things. However, I have never been captivated by a module as I have with your F-14B. Again, thank you for the love, hard work and dedication you have put into this project. Some may not think what you do is so important, but I disagree. In this busy world, so many have so little free time. It is important that our free time can be spent engaged in something rewarding, because that is what recharges us. It is a welcome distraction from work and troubles. Above all, it allows us to visit the 1980s, as if through a time machine. It doesn't take much imagination to become Maverick or Iceman, or Goose... what a testament to your achievement! Thanks again, Heatblur!
  13. INS alignment is taking quite a long time when I use autostart. If I take off before it is complete, somewhere around 66, it aligns to 100, then cycles back through again... What exactly is going on? Is this a bug perhaps? How can I minimize this process while still using autostart? Thanks!
  14. THANK YOU!
  15. I cannot get the wing sweep to work automatically, even after I use the manual wing sweep control on the throttle quadrant. This only happens when I start the aircraft using auto start. If the aircraft is started for me at mission start, the wing sweep works fine. It seems I am missing a button or switch. Everything is configured (wing sweep forward, backward, auto, and bombs) and linked to my throttle quadrant, but when I use autostart, these switches do not work at all. Is this an early access thing, or am I missing a step? Thank you!
  16. UPDATE: DELETING OPTIONS.LUA and launching the game worked. SOLVED.
  17. Update, I did a full reinstall, it did NOT solve the issue.
  18. Possible solution. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3460169 In the meantime, I am reinstalling. It seems the issue isn't mine alone, but I do not see any solid solutions out there. I hope someone can figure this out and post a solution for everyone.
  19. The game menu for DCS is not showing after today's update. 3.13.19. I am in the hangar and see the SU27. No menu. "5" to recenter the view does nothing. The menu is not behind me or elsewhere, it is simply not showing up. I have to alt-tab out of the game to hard-close it. Attempting to fire up without VR gives me a black screen in a window, which is useless. Any ideas?
  20. Yes, I need the dots too! I'm glad you are enjoying the mission. I am making more. :-)
  21. I have created a single mission for the Farmer B. You can get it here - https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=233628 The mission, set in 1953, casts you in the role of a test pilot who is testing the MiG 19 over the front during a fictional conflict in the Caucuses. The mission is not voiced, but features text-based instructions as you go. It may seem simple, but it can be difficult. For an easier mission, use "dots" to spot. Good luck, Comrade! A slightly older, dated version is here - https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3303785/ The top link will take you to the most recent version, which has a repaired trigger (a minor trigger, not a critical one) and some small graphical add-ons. After ED updates the file (expected on 3.4.19), both links should contain the same version. Feedback & collaboration welcome.
  22. Thanks, I hope it's fun for you, and I haven't made it too hard. I built the mission using the MiG 21 as a stand-in, then when the 19 was released I swapped it in, then flew several test missions. Good luck!
  23. This is a mission for the MiG 19. It is set in a hypothetical war in the Caucuses in 1953 (alternate history). Your mission is to test the new MiG under combat conditions, but events are in motion all around you. Will you complete the test flight, or end up in the MiG 19's first combat? Play and find out! (File updated 3.1.19 with changes to time, season, and minor text edits.) (File updated 3.2.19 with typo correction, minor trigger fix. A few graphical add-ons for flavor.) The Secret Weapon.miz
  24. For right now, I am still rocking the Sea Eagle campaign. I'm pretty iffy on converting it for the Caucuses, since I'd have to rebuild it entirely from scratch. However, perhaps I can build something else to your liking? What maps & modules do you have?
  25. The students think they are intercepting a flight of Air Force bombers on exercise over Nellis, but of course, it's a trap. Unfortunately for you, the students have a surprise of their own. This is a difficult mission to survive, and a great challenge for even experienced pilots. See if you can take the student aviators to school in the skies north of Nellis... Required: Nevada map, A-4 Skyhawk mod (free mod). Get the mission here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3303303/
