With a bit of luck in the end, I completed the mission. It is a great relief to be able to see the light of the sun again. A kind of reward ;) In this challenging but not impossible mission, the difficulty does not only come from the night, bad visibility and low ceiling but also the navigation in the very curvy canyon. And add to that the many powerlines scattered along the path! A little tip for other fellows flying this mission: in addition to the search light, you can also use the landing light and direct it forward. That way, you have a double cone of light in front of the helicopter.

Hello, I noticed that when I edit a thread (that I created) with a new post icon, the post icon won't display in the forum view.

Hi everybody, I would need some help and clarification. 1) Everybody is talking about the F10 key to get a mission status. When I hit F10 I get the usual map but no mission status or hint? 2) When I flew over the refugee camp, there was no mission message. I am wondering if that is normal? However later in the canyon I got "... Do you see them... Fire only if anyone shoots first". 3) I do not know yet the keys to operate the rear gunner so I shooted with left and right forward cannons the 2-3 vehicles firing at me. As I got no mission message I kept searching and found other static vehicles and soldiers and shooted at them (but did not kill all of them)... Still no mission message. Now I understand from a previous message in this thread that I need to search for: I was also messed up because the mission briefing says:

Good idea, but I have bird option OFF.

Hello everybody, Yesterday, I flew mission #4 of the Argo Campaign. I took off from the ship (home base) and turned on the autopilot. When I reached the shore I deactivated the autopilot and put the sim on active pause so that I could turn on the landing and search lights and set their orientation for the purpose of the mission. When I left the active pause, I suddenly lost nearly all efficiency on the tail rotor and the heli started rotating desperately to the right although I applied full left rudder. Speed dropped but fortunately I achieved to land. I don't think it was a VRS because when I tried to take off again, there was still no efficiency on the tail rotor. So I had to abort the mission. What could have happened?

Understood. Tricky  Thanks for your time and advice!

Review of the Oilfield Campaign and Interview of the Developer

Un grand merci à toi Simon pour le copy proof reading  -
It is an aggressive and continuous warning sound ; it's not the rescue beacon on the FM I believe. Anyway, thanks.

My bad LWin + A on a QWERTY keyboard equals LWin + Q on a AZERTY keyboard

I found several unresolved threads about the autopilot not working. I am wondering whether most pilots do not use the autopilot (considered as cheat) or do use it without problems?
-
ebabil, did you solve the problem? I have the same...
-
Hi, I have the same problem. I'm flying sim mode.

Yes throttle is fully open and N2 in range. I don't have the RPM LIMIT warning light. If I diminish throttle then I have a RPM LIMIT warning light, plus a new warning sound. So I think the first audio warning is something else. The only warning lights I have are: 1) MASTER CAUTION 2) 20 MIN FUEL
-
Thanks for jumping in Chic. I will check that. For your information I also tried to flip the low audio RPM switch to OFF, but it won't stay on OFF.
-
Actually, right from the beginning* I get the audio warning, even with no collective. * I choose the hot start for the mission.
-
Thanks Freebird23. I'll try that.

Hi, I am a comrade ;) transitioning from the Mi-8 to the Huey. In Mount Elbrus mission I get a continous warning sound after take-off. I believe it is related to the 20 min fuel caution. I tried the R key which turned off the caution light on the front panel but I cannot stop the sound warning?

Hi all, Since my arrival in the DCS community I received great support and enjoyed quality material (and more particularly Devrim’s Mi-8 english cockpit and Chuck’s guides). So in return I wanted to make a small contribution. Please find below my review of the Oilfield Campaign. It features an interview of the developer, in which you will find out the genesis of the addon, the roles of the many team members and contributors, and what was going on behind the scene during the development stage. Thanks to : Laivynas for responding positively to an interview request coming from an unknown guy (me) Cibit for his kind and valuable copy proof reading and thanks to Disclaimer: I did my best to avoid spoilers. However, be advised that depending on your own definition of "spoiler", you might find some. Click on the yellow button below to read the full review.

It is possible to have an english cockpit if you wish.

Hi, Today I had an idea. It is not a must have but a nice have. When one has finished the campaign, one can refly the whole campaign or selected missions. The idea is to have all the scenery components available in all the missions (oil rigs, landing zones, cargo, AI...) in one single mission. This mission would have no objectives, so the user could fly freely from one rig to another. A map of all rigs and locations of interest should be made available. Cargos would be available in all landing zones, to be picked up anytime and to be transported anywhere. How one can access to this bonus mission? In the last mission of the campaign, when the user lands at the base, a code would be displayed on the ground, for example : Then the user would go to a website to download the bonus mission. For example : That could be done for Oilfield campaign, or a future campaign based on a civilian theme.
