"Spring Tension" Campaign - A piece of art !
Simicro replied to WolfK33's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
200% Agree! Superb work Belsimtek  and many thanks! I just finished mission 5 and I get immersed little by little. I like the fact that I'm not thrown directly into combat but start with some acclimatation and transportation missions to get to know the bird. Lots of enjoyment! Me too I am willing to give my money for another campaign of this quality. -
I eventually succeeded. Initially I think I was not complying with: 1) The recommended speed for attack: 160-200 km/h 2) Height: not below 200 m above ground 3) Shoot the target from 1500-2000 m for the tank and 800-1500 m or so for the truck

Force Feedback joystick settings
Simicro replied to Simicro's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
Thanks snowsniper. Much appreciated! I don't understand why it is recommended to always invert trim in DCS with MSFF2? -
Hi Jacks, At which mission are you? I am stuck at mission 3
-
Salut Charly, I do not own the KA-50 yet (it's planned), but your guide is top notch as usual  I wish I could add to your reputation on this one but the forum system says I do not have enough credit to do so. EDIT : to moderators : please make this post sticky.

Force Feedback joystick settings
Simicro replied to Simicro's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
Thanks for your feedback. I did not change the default AXIS TUNE. I only set Trimmer Force to 30%. I wanted not too much friction and not too much sluggish. -
Hi all, I have a Microsoft Force Feedback 2 and here are the settings I'm satisfied with for the Mi-8. FF TUNE Trimmer Force : 30% Shake : 50 AXIS TUNE Deadzone: 0 Sautration X: 100 Saturation Y: 100 Curvature: 0 Guys, if you have a Force Feedback joystick, what is the brand/model and what are your settings?

Effect of Resolution of cockpit display
Simicro replied to Simicro's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
Thank you Devrim. Good to know! -
Hi, By default my Mi-8 Resolution of cockpit display in Options > System is set to 256. I increased it to 1024 but did not see any difference in the cockpit or the external model. Is it because the maximum texture resolution of the Mi-8 is 256? PS: I've read that on the A-10 which I do not own, the resolution of cockpit texture only has effect on the external model.

I did the mission again but it still says "failed" :helpsmilie:

Hi all, After some initial difficulties, by following precisely instructions on page 1 and 2 and 3 of the briefing, I got authorization for shooting. However after the second firing pass, I get this message: And after landing at the base, this message is displayed: Is it a bug? I think the truck is destroyed: But I suspect the tank is only hit? If so, your advice would be much appreciated. I also attach my track for you to check. Thanks in advance. Simicro- Bullseye2.zip

Map area numbering in the Spring Tension campaign
Simicro replied to Simicro's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
If you see the F10 map as an atlas bought in a store then I agree with you :) In my logic, the F10 map should be the same as the briefing map ;) Btw, thanks for your tutorials vids. I have not watched them yet but they look great:thumbup: -
Map area numbering in the Spring Tension campaign
Simicro replied to Simicro's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
Thanks for your answer. So the briefing map is "my" map and the F10 map is the enemy map then ? ;) I found this topic : How to navigate to specified grid no. in campaign/missions but it did not help much. But it's OK, I think you're right, we can probably do without the exact grid references most of the time. At least I could so far (I'm on mission #3) -
Looking for a nice Mi-8 campaign
Simicro replied to Simicro's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
Great! Thank you Cibit for the tip ;) -
Hi, Could you please help me this: it looks like the map area numbering displayed in the briefing of the Mi-8 default campaign is not the same as the one used in the ingame map display (F10)? My thoughts: 1) the area numbering in the mission briefing is only an example OR 2) the numbering in the map displayed with F10 has changed after the release of the campaign OR 3) I missed something...

Looking for a nice Mi-8 campaign
Simicro replied to Simicro's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
I finished mission 1 and start to feel immersed in the campaign :) Once a mission is finished, it seems that it it not possible to refly it unless by resetting the whole campaign? -
Mission 1: Documents question

By reading the mission briefing, I had some difficulty too to understand where to land exactly after SKHIVALI. I passed mission 1 now. Thanks. -

Simicro replied to Simicro's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
No yet Jacks, but the campaign has only 3 missions if I recall correctly. -
Hi, I saw this sticky post http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114341 and there are missions only. Can you recommend me a nice Mi-8 campaign, freeware or payware?
-
All right Chuck. Tu es vraiment incroyable, merci encore camarade !

It looks like that is not possible ;)
