Hello ebabil, Welcome to the Oilfield Pilot's Club :smilewink: By default, in this campaign, the Mi-8 comes with a military paint scheme (In the scenario the pilot is an ex-military). I do not know if you can tweak the campaign to use civil liveries, etc. But you are a senior member so maybe you know better than I do. I'm at mission #14 (out of 16) and so far no military missions. You will only transport oilmen, geologists, and civilian cargo. No soldiers or military stuff.

Hello Armen, do you have an approximate timeframe for the release of the patch?
-
It seems that there is (used to be?) an option in the DCS GUI, but I don't recall / find it anymore
-
Try the M key. Please note that the mirrors consume fps.

How much is the MI-8 helping?
Simicro replied to Rhinozherous's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
Quick tip: when under 50 km/h don't let VSI go under -3m/s and everything will be fine. -
I'm an average Mi-8 pilot and I consider the difficulty of this campaign to be easy/medium. Please note that all flights are civilian (no use of weaponry). You will have to learn the Doppler to navigate. I'm at mission #12 and so far no hovering in bad weather. You will have to learn sling operations too. Not a big deal though. You can create easily a training mission for that. If needed I can send you mine. Another good point of this campaign is that the triggers work properly (unlike in some other campaigns or even the default Mi-8 campaign). Personally I like civilian flights and I recommend this campaign  And welcome to the world of Mi-8 :) (I read that you have just bought the module with the summer sales)

Yes Laivynas, the 4 350 kg pipes are in the Mission #11 "Fishermen": I raised the point because more than 1 ton above the limit is huge, but please note that it's not specific to your campaign. Anyway I'm still happy with your campaign

Sling loading in 1.5.7 became very difficult
Simicro replied to SnapRoll's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hello, I can confirm 2) and 3). For 1) I am not sure because I am currently flying the Oilfield campaign and the current mission is to lift off a 4 350 kg load, so I thought it was normal that the rope or helicopter brakes easily if one does not lift off the load right in the axis and ultra smooothly (VSI less than 1 m/s). -
Hello, In Fishermen mission, after many attempts and many rope/helicopter broken, I finally achieved to lift off the 4 350 kg tubes. I am a bit surprised because the flight manual by Belsimtek says:
-
That was it indeed!

Hello Laivynas, Nice to see you :) I don't hear hear common procedures before landing at Apsheronsk. I don't get Hmm, I think I understand what happened. Indeed I noticed that when I landed at Apsheronsk the side door was still open. So I must have took off too rapidly after dropping the fishermen.
-
In "Profit" mission, I land near the "island" on the forest side to let the men go fishing and get the "... cya later" message. I then take off and land at Apsheronsk on the pad near the big antenna. I am supposed to take some products there to R-211 but I get no message on landing. I hit F10 but no cargo load... Please give me a hint.

Other F-5 Campaign in the future?
Simicro replied to Simicro's topic in F-5E Aggressors BFM Campaign
Thanks for your answer. As you are speaking of Red Flag, I understand that your next F-5 campaign will be for Nevada map (DCS 2.0) and not for Caucasus (DCS 1.5) -
Campaigns for the Mi-8 MTV2: lucky we are!
Simicro posted a topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
I was absent from DCS the last 2 years and when I came back a couple of weeks ago I was delighted to see that 2 campaigns were released in 2017 in a very short interval  - The Border Campaign - The Oilfield Campaign I said to myself: as Mi-8 pilots, lucky we are! :) I bought those 2 campaigns. At this time, I'm still on the Oilfield campaign. How about you? By the way I read that Maple Flag https://tlaschuk.github.io/missions has a Mi-8 campaign in the pipe. Well, at least it is advertised "Coming Soon". -
Hi, Does Maple Flag intend to do other campaigns for the F-5 in the future? If so, would you consider: 1) Campaigns for DCS 1.5 2) A mix of Air/Air and Air/Ground missions as at this time the 2 F-5 campaigns on sale are exclusively Air/Air in my understanding
-
I agree with you. 4 (see discussion on the previous page)
-
Sorry I mislooked your screenshot. Thanks
-
And the 4 single missions are in Nevada or Caucasus?
-
Thank you guys for your answers. I hope that a third party will make a campaign in the Caucasus.

I'm considering to buy the F5. Being an offline pilot, tutorials, missions and campaigns are essential to me. It is sad for me because for my PC is not powerful enough to move to DCS 2.0 so I'm on 1.5 and the two additional F-5 DLC campaigns require DCS World version 2.0! And as I understand from this thread, there is no default campaign included with the F-5. Do the "Single missions and full set of training missions" are already available? Do the "Extended Campaign for the F-5E by Maple Flags Missions Developer" are refering to : - F-5E Aggressors Basic Fighter Maneuvers Campaign - F-5E Aggressors Air Combat Maneuver Campaign for DCS 2.0 (and not 1.5) ?

DLC campaigns and repeating previous missions?
Simicro replied to ozTRipwiRE's topic in Oilfield Campaign
Thanks feefifofum, I will have a look at the video :smilewink: -
Thanks, it's clear for me now. And it's good to have a condition on 1 undamaged cargo only (and the rest as a challenge)

DLC campaigns and repeating previous missions?
Simicro replied to ozTRipwiRE's topic in Oilfield Campaign
I read that the Museum Relic Campaign for the F-86 Sabre has an built-in option to skip missions during the campaign. -
I don't have much spare time to fly "long" missions so I need to optimize my time :smilewink: Laivynas, can you clarify please: On the one hand, you say that damaged cargo is preventing advance. So that means that all 4 cargos have to be delivered undamaged. On the other hand, you say that it should be enough to transport one cargo (means not brake it). So I understand that I must deliver 4 cargos with at least 1 cargo undamaged. I read carefully the briefing but did not see any reference to damaged/undamaged cargo. But maybe I missed something.

You are very welcome even if my "review" was a very short one ;)
