  1. So, I've completed The Hunting Box 3 times now, and it will not progress to the next mission. I've tried going into the logbook for that trick too, and no dice.
  2. So, I may be completely retarded, I grew up navigating VORs and TACANs, so this preset stuff throws me off. I can find the forts just fine using the R828, but I cannot seem to track the FARP/FOBs at all using the preset channels, and there aren't NDBs I can dial up. How do I interface between tracking a fort in a mission and tracking a FARP/FOB?
  3. With all of this money going out on good Huey controls, I wish there was more use for the Huey in DCS :( Sadly outside of a few devout groups, there's not much you can really jump into.
  4. Uh... no... See, the aircraft is flyable, and fightable, with a single man, particularly in the computer world. In real life, it's a different matter, with far more effectiveness provided by a second crewmember due to the intensive work required by the older technology, and as mentioned, cockpit layout requirements.
  5. No one dreams of growing up to be an NFO... With aircraft like the Huey, or Cobra, where you have a job that can ONLY be effectively completed by a second body, you'll see some people enjoying it. Even in the Huey, how often to those .50s make a difference in your multiplayer missions? I can see some diminished use there. In the Mi-8, and honestly even in aircraft like the F-14, where 80% if not the entire operational capability of the aircraft can be carried out by a single pilot, you're not going to find a back seater. It's not like real life where someone is going to be FORCED into that spot.
  6. Hey, any news on this campaign? I really enjoy the 15, but the lack of campaign really limits in IMHO.
  7. So, I think I have everything set up properly. Have all my switches on, have my RSBN set, with the same channel in both windows. I followed the Nav mode to get headed in the right direction, and intercept the inbound course for landing (In this case Kutaisi, 074). Once on course, tracking inbound 074 and 120km out, I change to descent mode (Labled "proceed", the upper switch position) and at about 104km and 8,000m up, I get the glideslope and track that down. About 10km out, I'm aligned with the runway nicely and everything is going great. The Descent glideslope flattens out, as I understand it should, and switch to Landing. The glideslope and localizer needle center in my pipper and stay there. I hold altitude, heading and airspeed and keep tracking inbound to the runway. I've got a visual, so it's easy, but I'm trying to get the needles to do SOMETHING. No dice. Eventually, I hit the point where I HAVE to start coming down to make the landing, and as I lower the nose, both needles remain centered on the piper (The glideslope needle lowers to match my new pitch). I've tried this at other fields as well with the same problem, but this was the first time I followed all the way in from the descent mode, and it all worked, so I can't imagine it was an error on my part. Any ideas?
  8. I'll chime in, to at least let you know SOMEONE cares lol. I don't know about your issue, Ill have to double-check your commands, but I HAVE experienced something similar. When I started DCS for the first time in about 6 weeks, my cannon trigger was suddenly the same as center view, so this IS a thing somehow.
  9. I can confirm. Our server runs an asymetric load as standard on the Ka-50 (Two types of rockets) and it always fires only one type at a time.
  10. Hey, in case we're still talking about this, this came up on another forum recently:
  11. The post above hits the nail on the head about the AP not being a "true" AP and more of a dampener, and that's the distinction that makes keeping it on all the time make sense. The DCS manual at least specifies that the aircraft is designed to fly with the AP channels turned on, to reduce the workload in all modes of flight. It's certainly good to know how to fly without them in case of failure, but the aircraft was designed from day one with features like this in mind because of the other requirements of flying the aircraft.
  12. Out of curiosity, what is this "helios" thing?
  13. I have to agree. I try to fly by the manuals as much as possible, to pull the most realism out of these games, and the Ka-50 calls for autopilot. That being said, the Ka-50 is actually not bad with the autopilot. Turn the three main channels on to be steady, hold the trim when making corrections, and press flight director for real maneuvers. Real simple.
  14. Hmmm. Try running it in the Zu position and see if the aircraft overheats. That will tell us if it's a problem with the key binding or if it's a modeling error. I know for me, I run it in either the Auf or Automatik and it stays cool. The manual also specifies "Auf".
