  1. INTRODUCTION The Dojo BFM Open series is a set of elimination-based tournaments (brackets) that will run in parallel of the now established league system starting from March 2024. The new tournament module is now fully supported by Skynet, which means that the players will be able to manage their participation in these tournaments from the comfort of their Discord account. The double elimination feature of these tournaments is also more beginner-friendly since losing would not mean exiting the tournament but rather getting to fight some one who also lost their fight at the same stage of the competition. These second chance fights would take place in the Redemption brackets. The winner of the Redemption brackets will earn the right to challenge the winner of the Main brackets in the championship round. RULES OF ENGAGEMENT Aircraft Inventory: F/A-18C, F-16C, M2000C, JF-17, Su-27, MiG-29, F-15C, F-14B, AV-8 Fuel: worth of 5 min 30 seconds in full afterburner thrust at sea level. Armament: Guns available in each round + 2 Missiles can be carried in 2 rounds of the player’s choice. Missile Inventory: AIM-9M, Magic II, PL-5E, R-73. Winner of the Redemption brackets earns the right to challenge the champion for the title! Automated tournament management: Discord-based bot automatically updates the brackets and notifies the players. Convenient scheduling: you and your opponent agree on when to fight. 2. Ahh okay so If I got right, actually what I will get upon spawning is 16 flares with no pods which is the internal loadout (regardless of what the grayed out value shows in the ME..? Then if so, I would simply add a pod for 16 more flares to get 32 flares as you suggested.
  3. hmm, strange, in the ME, i have 112 chaffs / 48 flares without any pods. You mentioned 16 flares? We doing pvp so we want everyone to have 30 flares only...any way this could be achievable?
  4. Hello Is there a way to change the number of chaffs and flares we want to have upon spawning in the Mission Editor?
  5. Hello, Is there a way to amend the number of chaffs and flares we want to spawn with in the mission editor? (it is grayed out)
  6. I confirm your findings: I was not able to override the label settings or any other settings if enforced by the mission. Test conducted 1 - Label setting set to "FULL" in DCS UI 2 - "No force from mission, use mine" checkbox ENABLED in DCS UI 3 - Close dedicated server completely (no pause) 4 - Open mission in Editor, set labels to "FULL" + tick ENFORCE check box + Save 5 - Start then join server as client-------> Result: Labels were active. 6 - Close dedicated server completely 7 - Open mission in Editor , set labels to "NONE" + tick ENFORCE check box + Save 8- Start then join server as client-------> Result: Labels were NOT active. So I think this force my preset checkbox in DCS UI only works in SP, not MP (which is the desired behavior).
  7. Will test that tomorrow and revert back. EDIT: @Maverick87Shaka beat me to it!
  8. Yes I think the labeling of this feature is misleading. Why would a dev allow a user to bypass server rules in MP anyways? If one wants to fly on own terms, they can still do it in SP or create their own server.
  9. Hmm, it is weird, I tried to enable cheat features like immortal and unlimited fuel and tried to join my own server but it did not bypass my server's settings (yes I had the "no force use mine" box ticked and even restarted DCS). Weird but I am relieved.
  10. OMG! This renders competitive play utterly useless. Any ETA on a fix? this is a critical issue...
  11. Wait, what?! You mean on the dedi server itself? How on earth? I think you mean changing the mission's options on their editor if they had a copy of the mission. Because I hope a dedi server can enforce the mission settings for all its clients...
  12. Thank you, it worked! Clicking Briefing from spectators now does nothing. Would you happen to know if it would be possible to enter inside a user's cockpit when watching a server TRK file? I know there is a command called "jump into cockpit" but does it work for clients as well?
  13. I thought server's settings had the last word when setGlobal = true... I will try your solution and revert back... Thank you!
  14. Greetings! I am trying to disable access to all external views to unslotted users (spectators) in my dedicated server. I tried ["spectatorExternalViews"] = false and ["setGlobal"] = true in options.lua under config folder but to no avail. 15. Yes we banned this emergency mode in the M2 because although the plane seems to very twitchy and hard to tame when this mode is on, some still toggle it on and off just enough to pull off questionable stunts. I wish some DCS event fired in the backend whenever this button is used as watching the ACMI seems to be the only way to detect this violation. Direct Control in the Flanker is not banned as it behaves sanely (nose authority for the Cobra move) and it is unforgiving if one pulls too hard or engages it over 500km/h, plus it drains speed substantially.
  16. Amazing! Thanks a lot for the clarification! Yes its related to competitive dogfighting. The Su-27 in DCS for example has the Direct Control switch for the Cobra maneuver which is a move that could be used in a dogfight so I wanted to understand the use case and limitations of the CDVE5 (FBW5) switch in the M2. So according to your answers, this button should never be touched by the pilot or at least until it has been proven to be of any use in a close dogfight. For departures, the right switch to employ is VRILLE.
  17. Thanks for the detailed answer. So if I understood correctly: it's an emergency back up mode that engages automatically when all other FBW channels are gone. A few more questions please: 1- Can the pilot manually engage the CDVE5 while airborne or only ground crew when plane is stationary? 2- If answer to 1 was "yes", does this CDVE5 behave the same way whether all other FBW channels are still operating or not, it is as hard to handle in any case or would it be easier to handle if CDVE5 was the only channel operating? 3- is there a different spin switch to be used for departure recovery and if so what is the official name of this switch (just spin switch?) and where is it located in the M2 cockpit please? Apology for all the question marks, I am trying to wrap my head around this switch and to what extent it can be used in DCS in a realistic way.
  18. Thanks but when would one use it in real life? Is it to get out of a spin, stall or things like that? or are there other applications? EDIT: I remember Razbam posted detailed info about this particular switch but I can not find it anymore.
  19. Hey guys anybody know the exact application of the FBW5 switch in the M2? What is the purpose and when it can be used?

  21. Hello Would it possible for ED to add an "on_fuel_dump" event to the API? There is currently no way of detecting if a player is dumping fuel. It's related to BFM competitions that do not allow fuel dumping in their rules. Thank you
