  1. How is that different from any other major military in the world? No one wants to reveal the capabilities of anything modern, and that doesn't only apply to planes - let's not forget we could've known where MH370 ended up except that no major power wanted to reveal their primary radar capabilities, not even to (potentially) save hundreds of civilian lives.
  2. That's precisely the issue. Once you spot me you've already rang my bells and I've already dived into a valley before you even have a chance to close in and/or IFF. I already know where you are and how close, so I already know what to do. It's difficult to sneak up on people with the F15C, you need to keep track of them visually and keep your radar off. Part of being a good pilot is being prepared for anything and not letting your enemies be where they want to be.
  3. Not more than the L39.
  4. I have never felt it requires an exaggerated amount of trimming. It doesn't require any more trimming than any civilian airplane, mig21 or L39. This seems highly subjective and since no one here seems to have hard data we can only speculate.
  5. EO = Eletro Optic (No RWR) RL = Radar lock (lock warning on RWR, IFF) ILL = Radar on (Will spike RWR) (Negotiate IFF) EORL = Electro optical lock + radar lock ^ fixed. As far as I'm aware, the EO will always use the laser in STT mode.
  6. That's probably because the missile's antenna is still pointed at you and emitting.

    DCS: F-5E!

It has a radar, but only the later versions of the F5E can use the AIM120, and I'm not sure whether we are getting that.

  9. In any case you need to wait until the autopilot is done trimming it before you disengage it otherwise your plane will be horribly trimmed.
  10. If you want to fly with perfect trim (for a certain speed), just press lalt + 3, let it level and then disengage it, since all the autopilot does is trim the plane for you.
  11. Why is that a big deal? lalt + 3 for level flight, lalt + 1 for pitch/roll hold (good for climbs and descents), lalt + 9 to disable.
  12. Excellent mod. Broken in the last update though, TAB doesnt open the chat.
  13. Practice helps a lot! I like that this guide is useful, but I mainly thought of it as a kickstarter for people to begin exploring the systems and hopefully come up with new tactics and knowledge :)
  14. The su27 doesn't have trim tabs.
  15. I don't understand why you guys are so absorbed by the idea of having to define a primary and secondary sensor. There is no primary and secondary sensor. The radar and EOS complement each other and are to be used in different situations and contexts. One without the other makes for a garbage flight.
  16. I don't see how it's exaggerated. Maybe you are used to the F15C? The Mig21bis, L39C and even any plane in other games such as FSX show the exact same speed/pitch-up response. This response is deliberately allowed by the plane's ACS, it's not like the F15C's SAS that trims the plane automatically.
  17. Yeah the RWR of the F15 is good at giving the greater picture as I said in the guide but not as good for single targets. The idea of my tactics is to do some sort of recon with the radar as you go into the battle to counter this. But the only reason you can get Sparrow kills is that most people don't know how to use the Su27 which is why I made this guide. And the F15C isn't really designed for mountain fighting. It has a much poorer vertical scan mode and the lack of a "sneaky" IRST which coupled with the subpar sidewinders makes it much more challenging and not as effective.
  18. Wait what? I didn't take any offense from your statement or anything, I just thought it'd be nice to clarify it and expand in my guide. Thanks though.
  19. I don't think so... for the time being I'm horrible with the F15C because I don't like using the AIM120 and that is its only major advantage.
  20. Added an addendum to clarify the EOS vs radar matter.
  21. I've added an addendum to my guide to clarify this matter.
  22. I'm not sure it prevents it after burn through, but at that point TWS doesn't make a big difference. I don't bother with ECM, I'd rather have more missiles.
  23. Glad you guys are enjoying it.
