That's what I stated. As far as how the Blues activate it, I'm not sure. I know the TBirds use the "Dogfight" button on the throttle to activate the smoke on their vipers. I'd personally like to know how the Blues activate their smoke, if it's using one of the HOTAS buttons on the throttle.

We had the Blues fly into Waco this year for the airshow @TSTC. This was the first time I've seen Hornets live. I live on the approach and while making their familiarization flights, they'd pass overhead. I was honestly surprised how much quieter they were than the T Birds F-16's coming head on. I didn't hear them until they were right on top of me and passing by.

IIRC, the M61 cannon and ammo drum are removed and replaced with an oil tank that is piped out to the 12 o clock position of the left exhaust nozzle. As far as the activation, I would assume its similar to the Thunderbirds, who use the dogfight switch on the throttle of the F-16, to activate it. Without having a clue as to how things work in the computer world, I would imagine all of this would be a little simpler.

Yea I’m updating the beta now..however all the pretty re-skins for the Hornet are on the stable build.

Spent some time in the googles this morning, right now the 120 is only in the beta correct? Or has it been implemented into the stable version yet. I’ve really focused most of my attention to the stable version.

Really only the USMC uses the two seater (D) in a combat role, in their VMFA(AW) squadrons. That being said, the Navy uses the Foxtrot model in carrier air wings. AFAIK, the D model hasn’t deployed in a combat role with the Navy.

Hell i’d Be happy if they bumped up the F-5 to the current spec of the Navy’s jets. With how big 3rd party adversary air is becoming, it’d be nice to see the F-5 get some love, with us having NTTR. Make for some fun red flag stuff

Not having the point track mode, only the area definitely makes things difficult. I’m used to the A-10 slaving my mavs to the tpod and using the pod for target acquisition.

So after doing some reading and googling, I can’t seem to get the tpod to work, either with a cold start, or as suggested here, doing a hot start midair. Kind of kills using LGB’s on ships and other moving targets. Am I missing something or is there a work around?

I still can’t get it to work. Hit MAPM, and it immediately shows NO MAP. This is on the NTTR.

I've hit the map button after pressing the MAPM and the click does not seem to register. I don't know if how i'm looking on my trackir is making me press the wrong button, or if I'm just challenged!

So I jumped on the chance with the Harrier since it was on sale. After watching some videos on youtube, i noticed my moving map display does not function. NO MAP is displayed on the MFD. Am I doing something wrong?

This is only a problem I've had in the DCS 2.0 open alpha. With the Mirage, all of the steering cues, pitch ladder, and weapon symbology is dim to the point I not see it unless I'm super zoomed in on the hud, which obviously, makes flying a little challenging! I have not had this issue in the 1.5 beta. Now the compass, airspeed, mach, and altitude show up just fine. And yes I have tried both dimming and brightening the HUD.

just downloaded and installed the sand alone DCS world, now how does one go about taking the modules bought on steam and installing on the stand alone? Especially the L-39
