    F15E When?

I love the F-15E as much (Ha! Who am I trying to kid), more than the other guy, but do we really need two threads about it?

    F-15E?

Some more F-15E onboard footage of displays (shot from the training simulator) here: and here:
  3. A bit late to the party, but:
  4. Thanks for the info Lex.
  5. What is the your discord channel about?
  6. That image has been mislabelled. The weapon in question is an AIM-7.
  7. I don't know about anyone else, but I really like the front cockpit of the 'A' and the rear cockpit of the 'D'. The front cockpit of the 'D' looks off despite it being more pilot friendly.
  8. That shouldn't be an issue if it's sequenced with the other cats.
  9. A fighter and Formula 1 fan. Excellent.
  10. During Desert Storm, U.S. BUFF crew enjoyed dropping British 1000lb bombs which isn't a weapon in the U.S. arsenal. In any event, the forged steel casing of the british bombs offered better penetration than the Mk82s, M117s etc.
  11. I think they may get the basics right, but some of the other details and nuances may be incorrect or left out completely. The Hornet air-to-air radar display made use of the 'dugout' for instance, is this available for AMRAAM capable AV-8B's?
  12. I'd prefer the F-105G myself, but the point Kev2go made about a suitable version for a specific theatre hasn't sailed past me.
  13. They'd need to get data to model AIM-120 capability, as they only have/had access to the 1998 and 2002 TACMAN which is well out of date.
  14. Hi Tirak. I believe a new panel, the Air Refueling Store Control Panel A/A42R-1 (a slightly different, older panel had been used previously in conjunction with the air refueling store) was fitted to the BN's/Observers right side console on late A-6Es. This was pretty much the only area available to place it. For KA-6D aircraft that could carry a buddy store (not all were cleared/equipped to do so), a buddy refueling panel was fitted to the BN/Observer forward instrument panel, just to the right of the standard air refueling panel.
  15. F-111D Cockpit:
  16. The thing is, even aircraft that are long retired can (and often do) have classified elements about them, the F-14 being case in point. The newness of the aircraft is often not the determining factor in the classification of it's systems. The items on the F-15C that were classified in 1991 and earlier (TEWS, ECCM, EWWS, EID, NCTR, radar frequencies, radar performance, AIM-7M, 9M Performance etc) are still pretty much classified today. New systems which have emerged since then such as JTIDS/FDL, JHMCS, Sniper Pod aren't classified at the user operator level, save for the odd mode e.g Sniper Air-to-Air functions.
  17. The F-111F would be the obvious model out of the range due to Pave Tack and GBU-15 employment, however I'd like to see the F-111D because of its 'digital' cockpit/avionics.
  18. I'm not sure I agree with that p1t1o, with the exception of any agreements ED or 3rd party designers may have with the aircraft manufacturers/relevant services.

    F-15E?

Not from me I'm afraid Postal2.

  22. I think some sort of failure is most likely. It may have even been a guidance failure after he lost sight of it. As you mentioned earlier, the imaging seeker can't really be fooled by flares, unless in a tail chase situation were geometry combined with ejection characteristics completely masks the defending aircraft. In the short video clip of the SU-22, there was no indication that flares were dispensed.
  23. He was saying that (and I paraphrase) considering how many years air-to-air missiles have been loaded and unloaded on the aircraft, it demonstrated fantastic commitment from the ground crew and technicians who build them, that the one rare occasion the missiles needed to be used, they both actually worked and were 4.0 (so in perfect condition according to him). Regarding the 9X, I take his comments to mean that up until he lost sight of it after launch, it appeared to have worked as advertised, after that point we don't known what happened.
  24. It was pretty easy to miss GGTharos, considering the PC was almost fifty minutes long to describe a very brief engagement :) and the talk was winding down at that point.
  25. Nearing the end of the video now and the shooter says both missiles worked:
