PAPI or VASI light don't work
cicimicikiller replied to Skulleader's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
+1 Also this has nothing to do with "the merge" - as mentioned above, lights are there but projecting in the wrong direction. Pls fix it already, it's been ages -
Oxygen does not replenish after rearm/refuel
cicimicikiller replied to zerO_crash's topic in Bugs and Problems
Thanks for that, how about that diluter lever? I've noticed it switches to 100% whenever oxygen supply is turned on. Is that intended behaviour? I don't think it works the same on A-10C which I believe uses the same panel. -
Well, you have radar gunsight with range indicator, but i think you still need to get closer.. It's not like it's unplayable like this, as you said, just get closer, but sometimes that's easier said than done.

Oxygen does not replenish after rearm/refuel
cicimicikiller replied to zerO_crash's topic in Bugs and Problems
It's same in 1.5. I also noticed that I ran out of oxygen quite fast, the reason is that Oxygen supply (Diluter Lever, the white one) is set to 100% by default, it should be set to normal. I think it has changed during some of the last updates. -
Maybe if fire rate was higher then yes, but now it feels to me more like disadvantage. I prefer one well aimed burst instead of spraying enemy.

Any news? It feels like I am throwing gravel on the opponents.

reported Rapid drift of Attitude Indicator
cicimicikiller replied to some1's topic in Bugs and Problems
Any news on this? Attitude indicator is basically useless right now (1.5.6) -
My only complaint is low ceiling, it really hurts ground pounders. And yeah, wind seems to be a little extreme. I might have just bad luck but i can't really remember "good" weather for past months on this server. It's either dark, windy as hell or low ceiling.
-
Can I ask how does dynamic weather work? Is it based on some real weather or dynamic only means that it will change as the mission time passes? Will there ever be higher ceiling and calmer wind?

You mean this? https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/270020/ I don't think that would solve the issue, isn't it supposed to make distant planes appear as a dot? I understand that people have issue losing F5 during close air combat. You can definitely see F5 as a black dot from a long range on ACG server. Or does the mod also show the dot for airplanes close to you?

Thanks for the info about impostors guys, i would expect updates will fix and add things but i forgort this is dcs. Maybe we should have changelog for every broken thing each update as well so we can keep track of it.... I still disagree with "invisible" part, as I have never experienced such extreme visibility issue.

I was talking about ACG Cold War server
-
Well first you say it might be F5 problem, then you say it might be general DCS problem. After all that I don't see your argument that I don't fly against F5s. Also i tried to explain you that i was in a "dogfight" multiple times with friendly F5 and nothing was different to dogfighting Mig21. You think I have never lost Mig21 out of my sight just because it went against the ground? It happens every day. I agree spotting is difficult in DCS but again, I don't believe F5 is the problem. Also it was one of the characteristics of the plane that it is small and hard to spot (as you pointed out). Point of my tips was to maybe make it easier for guys that have a hard time against F5s, not really something related to visibility. And I can't stress this enough, impostors are set to MEDIUM, if you are losing targets this big, I think you just need to practice more. Other than that we just need to wait for 2.5 with hopefully better visibility.

I fly on mentioned server quite often in F5. But I really don't think F5 is that hard to see.. It often happens that i can see the plane but can't ID it, so I approach it as if it was enemy. Sometimes the confusion is on the both sides and suddenly you are dogfighting with your team mate until one of you realizes your mistake and flashes his lights or something. I think you can see Tiger as well as Mig21 in dogfight, even better, you can identify it by bare metal paint. You can lost Mig21 from your sight masked by underlying terrain just as well as the Tiger. Btw,, impostors are set to MEDIUM, you really should not have an issue to spot anything, i can see friendly F5s flying miles away. Here are some tips i use to stay hidden: 1. Make sure you are not visible against the sky easily Flying in 4000 or more feet over flat terrain you are very easy to spot by low flying planes from miles away on this server. 2. Fly in mountains/use hillside to cover your silhouette. This works pretty well if you have hills on one side and flat terrain on the other. Fly no higher than the ridge of mountains and you are invisible yet you can see everything. You can fly in higher altitude and you are very hard to spot even from underneath. 3. Don't fly straight to bullseye. On ACG cold war server I see a lot of times that people just try to fly very low, fast and straight to bullseye. First you are very easy target for even lower flying planes, second AWACS can see you anyway. Stay near to those mountains. 4. Don't fly over sea Flying low over sea you can still be very easily spotted. You are much better masked when flying over ground. Resolution can be an issue. I use 1920x1080 on 24" screen.

Sorry I can't test it now, but I did not touch any default stations so the channels are same as before. Also, what runway at KC were you landing on? There is PRMG only for runway 09. You can see this in mission editor.
-
So I tested it on Krymsk and you were right, it does not move.
-
Dobrý deň to you too :) I think yes, but now that you ask again I think maybe I saw it move back to centre because I switched to LANDING as I was lining up with runway. But i definitely saw it moving. I will test it today and will let you now. Also i think that I read in some thread that ADI angle pointer does not work (as designed) in some mode. But I would expect it to be the NAVIGATION mode, not LANDING mode. Anyway I will test it

Hello guys, as a lot of us were dissapointed there are only 4 RSBN stations available on Caucasus map to be used with L-39, I made this mod that adds RSBN station (no PRMG) to every airport. This mod should work also with other planes that use RSBN stations defined in Beacons.lua All info is here and in the readme. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/2451943/ Enjoy
-
As my file is still not approved, I will add it here for now. RSBNs for all airfields (no PRMG) on Caucasus map. Channels list is in the readme. Enjoy I tested more then half of them and they seem to work fine, also tried in MP. If there is any problem let me know. Edit: file approved, here is the link to thread and link to user files section https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3073494#post3073494 https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/2451943/ RSBNbyHawk.rar

Not exactly, but yeah, that was the idea. Except Pashkovsky, there I placed it in the middle between two runways. Why?
-
So i made a mod that adds RSBN to every airport on Caucasus map. I will post it here as soon as it gets approved by admin.
-
I was able to succesfully add RSBN station to Gelendzhik using this code added to the airdrome = {} section. { type = BEACON_TYPE_RSBN, callsign = "GL", frequency = 815000000.0,-- channel 15 channel = 15, position = coordinates("44'34'11N 38'00'32E 40"), } I used the coordinates from the NDB. It also appears in mission editor now and even passes integrity check. Don't forget to use comma after } of the previous beacon under airdrome = {}. I think this method should work also for PRMG, I will try it tonight.

I can confirm I saw ADI moving yesterday when landing at Krymsk using PRMG. Be sure to enable SDU next to the Landing/Navigation/Penetration mode switch (might not be your problem).
