  1. Yup, thanks!
  2. Good afternoon, In several missions, Flip uses the codeword "strong-arm". What does it mean? I couldn't find it in the briefs, the campaign guide, or the wiki page with brevity codes. Cheers!
  3. aha! Done, thanks!
  4. Thanks for that!
  5. Good evenin' gents, THANK YOU BD for this. I am on M#7 and loving every minute of the campaign. :pilotfly: I've got a question about "playability for dummies", and it has nothing to do with AAR. :smartass: After some of my "wait, what?" moments, I'd love a way to find out if I followed the intended flow of the mission. It seems like opening a mission in the editor does not reveal the list of triggers. Is there a way to check if we missed a part of the story? A little example: I really don't mind the bad score itself as my "daring style and technique" is rarely appreciated. But I don't want to skip any part of the scenario. Any way to check I didn't? How can I find out whether I was supposed to actually fly to WP3 or not? Side question: could someone confirm that when talking to marshall during the landing sequence, "switch tower" has nothing to do with the tower frequency preset in the mission, usually used at take-off? We're supposed to stay on marshall all the way, right? Cheers and thanks again for the really good job!
  6. Thanks a lot! Well, me being a childish impatient 33 yo kid, I just raided a Virpil restock for a throttle. One day, when I'm rich, I'll reconsider the big one :-) Have fun!
  7. Good evening all, My X-55 is finally breaking apart after 5 years (and two home-made internal re-wirings already), so I am considering my options... I just came across the winwing thing, but I could only find reviews of the brand new ones. My big question is about the electrical wiring, which we can see there (it's in French, but just look at the picture ;-) ): http://cloud.checksix-fr.com/review-winwing-f-a18-hotas/. I really don't see why the thin, short and moving cables wouldn't break as fast as the X-55 ones (famous problems for people who own them). Anybody wants to share his experience after a few months of abuse?
  8. Okidoki, thanks for caring! Happy 2019 :-)
  9. Yep, I found the option to have the cockpit in English, and after reading you I also found the one to have the "avionics language" in English as well (thanks!). But the training mission itself (with the instructions for startup sequence) remains in German. Do you have it in English? It seems strange because the weapon deployment training mission is in English. Thanks for the help!
  10. Hi there, So I just got this module and wanted to check the start-up procedure... To realise the first training mission is all in German (brief and in-game text). Any idea how to change that to English, if that's even possible? Cheers!
  11. Thanks, it helps a lot! The confusion came from 1) Me being a private pilot, and not knowing (nor imagining) that LOW applied until 10k, as I never fly this high. I'm totally fine with the limits you are using, I just didn't know them. 2) When the doc mentions FL60-FL70 (for example), that means flight level 60 to flight level 70. By definition a flight level is always defined QNE (from the 1013.25 hPa isobar, that standard 29.92 setting), not from ground level. I didn't think conventions could different in the campaign, which is fine. => In the future I'll just fly whatever my CDU wants me to ;-) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flight_level Cheers!
  12. Hi there, and many thanks for these campaigns! I'm having trouble with altitude blocks (mainly when leaving the range), and could use a little help in making sense of them. First, the general briefing tells us FL60-FL70 when going home (southbound in TC OSCAR, Eastbound in TC IRIS). I would argue that's already a problem, as the ground there is around 1500 to 2000ft AGL, so in order to respect the 5000' hard deck limit outside the range, we need to fly at FL70 or above. :smartass: But fine, let's say a precise FL70 makes everyone happy. Then, the mission briefings (only flown TAC11 & TAC12 so far) mention a "Low, low, low" profile (whatever it means when the hard deck is at 5000'). I just can't match this with the altitude blocks published for inbound and outbound corridors around the range. Finally, within the missions, exit point Charlie is expected to be crossed at 7800 ft. That's not in the FL60-FL70 block, and that's not "low" as the profile suggests. Am I missing something, and where should I be to satisfy that grumpy FE? :joystick: Cheers! ;-)
  13. Oh darn... Apologies, and thanks! I read the pdf files before launching the missions, and wrongly assumed the in-game briefs were identical. I just tried it again, and failed. I am under the impression that the "hard deck" is still active during those drops, so that I should be flying between 5000' and 6000', correct? (I would rather go a little lower still, say 4000'.) However when releasing at 5500', the FE warns "watch your altitude!", making me think I'm already doing something wrong there. I must have missed something despite the great support ! (Bitching about my own shortcomings doesn't prevent me from appreciating the good work you did! ;-) )
  14. ahA! Just failed this mission as well (on 2.5), probably because I was too high. I am reading here "below 6000' as per the briefing". Where is that written in the briefing? I stood there happily at 8000', therefore probably releasing them farther away than 1nm, and was clueless whether the "shot" was successful or not. Will give it another shot soon. Cheers!
  15. Hi there, I'd like to give this thread some attention, I'm having the exact same issue as the OP. Any hint on how to solve this?
  16. Meh, there is one drawback in getting this campaign in the stock game rather than in the user files download section: I can't give it a thousand thumbs up in the form of 5 big fat stars... Just finished it today, I loved it! Thanks ;-)
  17. Thanks for the reply, and sorry to have missed the appropriate thread. I guess I'll take the time to refresh my A-10 memories. ;-) Meanwhile, do you confirm the textures are not expected to be a factor? Untill next time!
  18. Hi there, Fantastic campaign, many thanks! I am stuck in mission 07 however, and any help would be very much appreciated. After being redirected to monitor the L-39s, I find them making dry runs around friendly positions, without ever dropping their ordinance and eventually fliying into terrain. Is there any way to complete the mission without them firing anything? I tried the following: NAV to Kodori valley: either straight from WP4 (just after Magic's call) to WP10, or flying to 300 as ordered and then 110 when instructed (to avoid the SA-11 site). Does not seem to have an impact. Monitoring the L-39s, I am making a wide pattern around the valley of interest at Angels 30. After a couple of unsuccessful tries, I was just looking at their game tags rather than bothering with radar work. I found the following thread, and de-activated any mod (esp. textures), without success: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3335576 All missions end with one of them flying into terrain and magic accusing me of violating ROEs => mission failure. On one exception, they finally dropped bombs (after a few minutes of dummy runs to check the wind), I took them out only to later get killed by my own wingman while attacking the helos later in the mission... :wallbash: I could not reproduce that (them dropping bombs I mean... I can reproduce friendly kills alright). Please let me know if this can be worked around. Thanks for the cool campaign anyways!
  19. OK thanks, and just to be sure: DAPS is not publicly available, right?
  20. Hello people! Kudos to the 476th for sharing some light :-) . I'm looking to learn how to choose the "right" parameters to drop a really heavy Xmas gift on some bad guys. In other words, my first attempt at mission 01 of the red flag campaign was a nightmare. I was refusing to resort to the CCRP cheat (that's a joke), but couldn't figure out what was the proper altitude/dive angle to release a CBU-97. After a few hours on the web, it seems I "just" need to build a Z-diagram for that particular bomb. How on earth can we do that? It would be great if I can learn how to get those ideal TOF, HOF, etc. I have no idea where those provided (for the Mk-82) came from... I'd be grateful to anybody coming up with the reference I missed! Cheers.
  21. Hi there! Any news from this? :-)
  22. Yurgon; you're my Hero!!! :D Disabled easy comms, used SPU-9 PTT with default frequency, sent my wingman to his death without a wink. Mouahahaha.... back in business :D
  23. Good evening, and thanks for caring! You're totally right: it's a radio comms problem, I don't know why I said datalink. Although the datalink has been eluding me as well, but that's a problem for another day. So yes, I press SPU-9 PTT (default key RAlt-\), the menu pops up, I select entries BUT! I cannot hear my pilot's voice. And I do not receive a response either. Despite using easy comms, I checked I was using the proper frequency (ie. 124.00 according to mission editor, and 127.5 according to some descriptions in tutorials. I tried both, without result). I'll try switching easy comms off, and come back with the news. I'll post a track if needed. Just to be sure: the only thing to set in order to use the right radio and frequency is the frequency shown on the left leg panel, and make sure every radio is powered on, correct? Thanks again!
  24. Hi again, I just wanted to check if nobody is answering because we just don't have an answer, or... did I break too many posting rules at once without realising??? :P
  25. Dear All Mighty Community, After hours playing DCS without any problem, I find myself unable to send any datalink command. The menu pops up, I can try any combination to check if wingman n°42 is really going to go get me a coffee and drop a few bombs on the way... but everybody stays silent. Even ATCs don't respond either, dispite threats of blowing their asses off if they don't answer my knock knock jokes. I really don't know how to fix this, and most missions in campaigns are much less fun to play without a wing. Here are my failed attempts to fix the issue: - Browsed the forums to find answers. Nothing seemed to help. - Tried resetting the campaigns, but as the problem occurs even in training missions, I wasn't surprised it didn't change anything. - Uninstalled and reinstalled a freshly downloaded version of BS2. - Played with all the radio buttons I could find. - Deleted the files in "Saved Games" folder. - Tried to use a steam version of DCS to see what would happen: exact same problem. The feature works fine in the S-25T though. Any one, any clue? Do you think deleting the whole thing and redownloading the game is needed? Are we even sure it would work? (I'm thinking a hidden file remains burried somewhere, with a nasty option line with a nasty incompatibility...) Lonely flying today :(
