I ended up going for something cheap, but still good quality. Cooler Master Hyper 212+ With this cooling, I was able to go prime95 64bit stable at 5Ghz for 30 minutes @ 1.4-1.45v. I have not seen the temps go over 72c. During DCSW & DCSBS gameplay, temperatures never go over 52c. I decided on the overclock settings in my sig. 4.8Ghz is plenty. So far it's working out great. :-)

Works for me with setting on Manual. Instead of selecting AM, or FM, select MAN. That might do it.

Are wingman more dangerous than the enemy? Is it just me or does anyone else ALWAYS have drama with their wingman? These are the missions where I wish he would forget how to drive and f*ck up trying to taxi!

I got no noticeable FPS increase from switching to SSD. What I did get was really fast loading times. I have a budget Intel SSD 40GB. The newer SSD's are much better, I can only imagine how quickly some missions load with them.

Very true. Not sure if we'll have the numbers to make it worth it anyways. I was thinking summer time. Give me time to find a good place...etc. Hoping to turn it into some kind of yearly event for simulations fans...in the area.

Hmm ok, maybe I'm confused. If you run a campaign mission, the same mission, and fly it (you are technically "in-flight") Test your settings etc. Then restart the same mission, and test out settings again and so on. It serves the purpose of stress testing your rig & settings because the campaign missions can be very stressful on your machine. Most campaign missions have a lot of units and action going on, so fly the mission and test settings. Adjust settings and fly again..etc. That's how I did it.

Run one of the campaign missions. Those have plenty of action. I used to use the campaign to tweak my settings with old PC, now it doesn't matter. Any campaign mission, just use the same mission over again for testing ...etc.

Hmmm very nice. That one is a bit smaller and I bet the difference in performance is not that much compared to it's bigger brother. It's not an easy decision.

I had the H50 for my Q6600 just a month ago. I sold the H50 thinking it wouldn't be compatible with the new 1155 board...I was wrong.. They do perform good, no doubt about that. But they perform similar to some higher end air coolers.

Now that's what I really wanted to hear! I've been trying to push my 2600k to higher OC's but at 4.7Ghz it's getting real hot. I have HAF 932. I should be able to fit the Noctua NH-D14. Did you say 5Ghz overclock?? With a AMD Phenom II X4 955? Edit - Just watched a youtube vid of someone installing the NH-D14. It's MASSIVE!! haha I like it.

Actually that is the cooler I was checking out. It's under $30....which is sweet.

Hello, I know there are a few people here with 2600k, just curious what your using for CPU cooler? I'm using stock HSF right now, and temps are getting up to 85c. Any recommendations? Thanks!

I tried doing 300 tanks but the clusters still killed about that same amount of tanks. I have ALL settings maxed out...everything, except water. Edit - Here is my attempt at 300 tanks...lol It came short but was just as much fun..hehe
